Have I missed something this season? I mean, congrats to Anahuac on a good season so far, but EC is winning this game fairly easy. 21+

After watching the game I think it is pretty obvious that NS had better athletes than WB. WB has a couple but across the roster, NS is loaded. Especially on the Oline. They had some monsters up front. I was very impressed with Bryce Anderson and Thad. Kids can GO. WB just couldn't stop the run But with that Oline and those backs, I can't blame them or the coaches. Just a lot better team. They held their own though

Lol! Same. Leon who do you think the best player in the district is?
The two best players in the district are Ceasar and #27 from EC
-
I can see this being a good game. I will take HJ
-
The best player(s) in that district play for EC.
But I believe Buna wins this game in a close one.

Who cares? EC is not in the 5A district. EC was not mentioned and has nothing to do with any of this.
I do. You talk noise on my team and I will talk noise on yours lol Isn't this what setx sports is for??

Ned QB is very good. Kid has a cannon. Their so athletic in the skill positions. I say Ned wins this game by 10

I did not say "nothing", did I? I said "not much". Lets be accurate. By and large, Newton is still Newton, and Newton would blast this 1-3 Nederland team, be it last year or this year. BTW, Silsbee (who beat Ned) struggled somewhat with Lumberton?? LOL
LOL and Silsbee would still bust EC even with all their recruits.

I don't have a dog in this hunt, but Ned is 1-3 with two losses to smaller schools and their only win is over a pushover, while BH is 3-1 with two of the three being quality wins. I don't care if Ned is at home or not, BH will walk away easily with this. BH by 14 only if Ned can score late.
Smaller schools that are pretty dang good. Nederland will win this game.

They were on par (or better at times) with us and Newton back when we were briefly in the same 3A district in the 2000's and made several deep playoff runs. I know we don't want to discuss systemic issues, but athletes usually don't just disappear from places like that. Changes have to be made to get those kids motivated to play.
Schools have ups and downs for sure. Some groups are special, some are average, and some are just plain DOWN. They will come back around. One of the funniest (but accurate) statements I ever heard was that if you look at all the banners hanging in the gym and notice the years that are NOT up there, these kids are the product of THOSE players lol. This was not about kirbyville by the way.

No it didn’t hurt them. Yes loosing any good player year after year puts any team in a rebuilding stage. If you watched the game and understand play calling you would have noticed you can’t call the same plays and not make adjustments. Everyone so focused on the players they don’t see the coaching staff has changed too. Those boys are still talented and can play just as good as those that left. Coaching and play calling also plays a BIG factor in any game. New OC. Did not make adjustments. He call the same plays. That was the difference in that game.

(That kind of wording is uncalled for. Make that the last time it's used)
It wasn’t 12 or 10. It was 6 kids. 4 of them were two way starters. 25-6 at halftime. 2nd half was 7-6

So the QB and RB for Newton have Offers from TCU, Arkansas, etc? My bad I did not realize that man. College coaches know talent and if they have all those offers, then I am wrong.

Newton produces play makers. It’s not just something that started. I remover a Anthony Byerly, Fred Kenebrew, James Boy, DJ Dean, Kevin Shorter. And I can name plenty more. That were just as good. Is a Newton thang and most wont understand
The game last night kind of shows what I was talking about. Newton scores 51 against Gilmer last year and 0 against Gilmer this year. Losing Barlow, Foster, Brown, the big lineman, etc... absolutely hurt them. Brown, Foster, and especially Barlow can NOT just be replaced. Newton is still legit and will most likely still win state BUT they losing those seniors last year definitely hurt them.
