With Warren JV having success this season coupled with the fact that Warren varsity is mostly junior driven (only a couple of senior impact players), I see Warren being a major player in 12-3A next year.

And they beat 3AD1 #2 Wall. Who is a favorite in that classification.

Newton may make it out of region 3. But after seeing Cisco, they would beat Newton. But I think it would be a good game to watch.

Cisco. Lol y'all haven't seen them play, huh? Franklin will challenge them well though. And Newton has a chance if they continue playing well.

Take it from a guy that has lived in a community where folks don't give a guy a chance...WOODVILLE...give this Coach an opportunity to sink or swim but give him another two years before ya tooooo crazy! Glad Joubert has the job...folks around this community really have a lot of respect for him so I hope that is enough equity of good will for an additional two or three years.

Yeah, unfortunately that is a common theme around here. Personally, I'd like to give Waldie a chance and see what he can do with a few years and this talent coming up. But my vote doesn't count lol

I agree the professional teams do have a lot of good about them, whereas the negative usually makes for better stories and overides the good.

5-0. Hasn't had a real test all year. Closes game was Buna, who they beat 52-28. They have alot weapons all over the field. They've improved a lot since last year, but I'm sure Kountze has too. I'll be there on Thursday to watch the game of the year in that 8th grade district!

I even got my year wrong. It was 1983. Good news is we won't run into Newton in the first round this year lol

Other than the "won't beat Kountze" part, I agree. If they go 6-4 and beat Warren, that's a successful season, playoffs or not.

Woodville had trouble hanging on to the ball or the score could have been worse. Having Jackson back at QB made a big difference, he brings everyone else up around him. We have a big game with Kountze next week. A team who has scored a lot points against some good teams. Their record means nothing they have played some good teams.

I may not be able to brag on our varsity much headed into the Kountze game....but our 8th grade is a toooootally different story lol

They're 5-0. Have scored 229 points in five games and only allowed 40(+/-8) points. We're excited about these boys if they can all stick together into high school. Great kids and students too!!

Yeah I have my disagreements about how try played that game offensively going deeper into the game. Don't get me started lol
The only crappy thing I saw later in that game was Kirbyville bringing 7 or 8 every play up 49-0. INCLUDING bringing the corner EVERY okay in the fourth. Like, come on guys, you're up 49-0. Play a base defense and stop trying to pad your stats.

Now Ty Dennis is a player I must talk about. He is only a sophomore, right?
This kid is already, from what I've seen, BY FAR the most talented running back in the district. I'm not sure how Kirbyville keeps bringing all this talent to the running back position with Fred Ford, Brodrick Jackson, Burman Ervine, and all of those. But, I have had the pleasure of watching all three of those from their sophomore years and on. Listen carefully when I say this....he is better than any one of those three were at his age. I know the stats don't back it up to this point. But from his technique, to his speed, to his aggressiveness as a runner, Ty Dennis is a better running back at this stage in his career than Fred Ford or either of those other two were.
I know I may take a beating for saying he's better than Ford was. But IMO it's the truth.

He's definitely better than anyone Buna has. Coming from someone who's seen both teams for four quarters. And get off it? Lol how old are you? 14? You'll be telling your team to get off the field by the end of this one :)

After seeing Kirbyville last night, I think they win this game.
BUT it will not be easy. Both teams play a "hard nosed" style of football. What will give Kirbyville the edge is that fast-tempo offense and the pressure they bring on defense. I'm not sure if Buna can handle all that. But it will be a great game!
