Baylor did the right thing, I doubt they did it on their own free will.

Is it the Supt ? Or AD ? If your a AD recommends and Supt says no , AD needs to go ! Sounds like he may be waiting out Supt who is on borrowed time !

First off I would like to say what a great candidate for the job. Second , if the people to be are not hiring good candidates sounds likes Jasper has many problems. Thirdly, if Mixon didn't, bring that program to a top tier program in the state ,coaches like this wouldn't not be looking at it !!

That's what I've heard. If so, the people of ECISD will be very pleased with the product. Very high quality turf.

Great hire by woodville. Coached douglass to a 120-19 record or something crazy like that. Great guy with a great wife. Pleased to hear about this one!

Wow! How can you people say such Rediculous crap about coach Hennigan or coach Wilroy? Saying he got out basically when the well was dry? Let's set a few things straight. There were no rileys, becks, and winters in Spurger when Hennigan took them to the state championship game 2 years in a row! There also were no becks, rileys, and winters in colmesneil when Hennigan took them to state either! In fact when he took colmesneil to state he did when they were a class 2a team! He had other good players with different names such as brown, mccabe, gill, douglas, mann, winkle, and many others. What is the common denominator there? HENNIGAN! Here's you another point you seem to be missing, when Hennigan came over from colmesneil he and wilroy inherited an eagle team that came in 4th in district and missed the playoffs. With the exact same team that another great coach (mixon) missed the playoffs with, not only did Hennigan take the teams to the playoffs, but took the team to the regional finals getting beat by the eventual state Champs who went 37-0 by 1 run in two games! Now if you knew what the real reason he left the when did you would probably feel pretty stupid. I happen to know the man and know exactly why he left. He left because he was a single parent raising 3 young kids! And the final straw was when his son started playing baseball he saw 1 game! Now go ahead a take away from a great career if you so choose, but remember this, to this day Hennigan is the only coach in Texas history to take 3 different teams to the state championship! Not only that, but from the same county! Sounds to me like yall just don't like the man? A home town boy does good and all you can do is try to take away the work he did

This is not an easy one to predict.
I am going to with:
1. Coldspring
2. Kirbyville
3. Woodville
4. Buna
5. Trinity
6. Kountze
7. Warren
I am taking Coldspring to win this district because of where I had them inside my pre-season rankings. After that, I have Kirbyville as a close 2nd and that could be a toss up if Coldsrping is going to be down a bit. Kirbyville also beat Woodville and Buna by 40+ in 2015 so that is a lot of ground to make up there. I will go with Woodville in the three spot, but those 3-5 spots could be up in the air.
Trinity is losing some coaches including the HC/AD. Also will be losing one of their top younger players.

Kountze has a lot of talent in 8th grade. But this will be a rough year for the Lions.

Do you have nothing better to do with your life than get on a message board, without a dog in this fight, and talk down on a coach and group of girls who have worked their butts off to get to where they are? Get a life and grow up a bit man.
Good job lady Eagles and great season.

Parents are a great support system, but the fact is, they are not in any way the mainframe of any athletic program at the highschool level. Yes, they're a major factor, but to say that "there is no program without the parents" is just simply wrong and, although I know you weren't attempting to do this, it seems to put the kids on the back burner.

I am sure their will be different sides to Coach Standley's departure which is understandable. He, his family wanted to stay 100 percent. No need to go into those details, lets just say he has been doing it for 20 years and he can see what an AD wants. If you want to get to the first bite of problems, look close at Coach Butter and how he was treated. He is an amazing Coach and the kids, teachers, community loved him. He wanted to stay and deserved way more than he got. That is the first step of a new AD's reign and more comes later. It is part of the crazy business and is sad. Woodville has amazing kids and the parents are passionate about sports. I can say Coach Standley landed on his feet but his heart will still love Woodville and miss each and every moment that he spent there.
Brobie!!!!! You don't know anything about the situation other than he was on his phone!!! you are correct, he was ,He was texting the scores to all the haters that said that Woodville kids couldn't make the play-offs.

not saying this is the case, but sometimes when a school hires a new AD the community or school board wants some other coaches gone. If the baseball coach is leaving over the lifting of weights he probably was just looking for a reason to leave anyway.
