Good hire. A Colmesneil native, great coach, and great guy! Congrats Ross and the town of Colmesneil! -
Cowboys offseason thread

AP has 46m left on his deal. Any team that signs him is gonna get burned financially. -
Great move. If they can stay healthy, this is easily a top-10 defense next year. They are also signing Cecil Shorts on the other side of the ball.
-
He does seem like a really good kid that was under alot of pressure. I think ultimately his brother committing to Texas was the deciding factor between the two for him.
-
Did you watch Malcolm Brown in 2013? Malcolm Brown in 2013 and 2014 are COMPLETELY different lol 2013 was a decent player who did his job. 2014 was a monster. Kids don't just all of a sudden decide to start playing better by themselves.

Pretty sure you can't compare the Aggie coaches over the last ten years to the Mack Brown Era at Texas. That's like comparing a lizard to an alligator. They're both reptiles buuuut.... Strong at Texas last year was severely crippled by lackluster recruiting over the past 4-5 years beforehand. It's not fair to judge a coach based on something he didn't have the time to influence. Based on wins and losses, last year was a down year. But IGUARUANTEE if you ask anyone who follows or is close to this program, they woukd consider last year a success. Texas Football is changing in huge ways. That doesn't happen overnight. It starts from the ground up. And today was a huge first step in the right direction. The next two years will be very critical for Charlie Strong to prove just how good of a coach he is. For anyone to already be judging him based on last year is, quite honestly, ridiculous.
-
I think both teams improve greatly this year. A&M 8-9 wins. Same for Texas. Neither will jump into championship contention next year.
-
Let's not jump the gun. Personally, I believe Strong is a much better coach. But Sunlin is great in his own right. Texas has to prove things to people and while this signing class is a big step in the right direction, it doesn't prove anything. Just be patient and time will prove all.
-
Agreed! People are really not talking about one of the huge membets of this year's class too in Anthony Wheeler at LB. He's a hoss and could push for significant playing time this year.
-
Very true statement. I believe if they have a scholly left after signing period, he will be the first to get consideration for that.
-
@Soso_Jamabo "Haven't answered to reporters in weeks but they still have stories on me...funny how that works" Lol interesting.
-
That was all speculation because he cancelled his visit to TCU. There are a multitude of reasons he could have cancelled that visit.
-
Yes sir!! We needed this more than Mack, although missing out on Mack or Jamabo would be a huge miss.
-
Scratch what I said. I just read a piece by Burton saying he's been informed that Mack has informed all his top 3 where he will be attending school and that place isn't believed to be Texas. Personally, I believe it's TCU. It's the only school he has tweeted about since his "I woke up with one school on my mind." tweet. As for Soso, I feel like he will end up at Texas. He sees a thin RB group at Texas and an opportunity for early playing time.
-
I haven't read either of those rumors anywhere. And I've been dang near obsessed with this the past couple of weeks. Lol I highly doubt Boyd is wavering though. His brother committed for 2016 the same day.
-
I love JJ Watt. Best defensive player in the gane by a landslide. But the QB is by far the most important position in foot all. And Aaron Rodgers had an amazing season at the most important position. If the Texans win their division, that would've made it alot closer though.
-
Got scared off by Hill and Boyd. IMO s smart move on his part though. He will get more playing time at Tech. Texas' secondary will be stacked for the next few years if all goes as planned.
-
Eh idk. Him and Malik Jefferson are close friends. Jefferson even tweeted the other day about how their moms talk to each other more than they do. Could you imagine that defense at Texas in two years if Mack signs?
-
Not sure why you'd guess that lol he has been tweeting more Texas stuff than anyone.
-
Have you seen how many followers Kyler Murray has on Twitter? LOL 35,000+. These kids are becoming superstars. They have been removed from the "young boy" crowd. Lol they now have fans. And alot of them.
-
From what I'm reading, Warren is an 85-90% lock. He loves the Horns. And Jamabo is trending waaaay towards Texas in the past three weeks. If Jamabo signs first, it's possible for Warren to flip to OU or A&M. But if Warren signs first, I believe we get Jamabo as well. That kid knows he's good and believes he can beat anyone out that they put up against him.
-
Hook Em'. \m/ This bumps Texas to the 9th best class nationally, passing Notre Dame. And I'm predicting them to break top 5 when Mack, Jomabo, Locksley, and Warren sign.
-
On the record....I believe Jerrod Heard will start this year. Without Murray, that's the most logical conclusion. And my MLB joke was just that...a joke. I'm a Texas fan which gives me a natural distaste for A&M lol nobody is "butthurt".
