  2. I'm expecting a lot of interest, honestly. Last time it was open, it opened about four months too late, and we still got a great coach. Plenty of time to make a great hire. Best football facilities of any 3A school around here, as well as 16 starters returning from a playoff team last year, that included several freshman and sophomore starters. Whoever gets this job could be looking at a gold mine of talent coming up over the next 2-5 years..
  3. According to Smoaky.com, current Woodville HC/AD, Mike Waldie, has been offered and has accepted the HC/AD job at Daingerfield HS! Woodville is losing a good one! Congratulations to Waldie and his family! Back to the drawing board, Woodville....
  4. Woodville 22 West Sabine 5 Woodville looking very good this year. Solid pitching, a lot of speed, and solid hitters 1-9. Should compete well on 22-3A with CH, Woden, Pollock Central, Corrigan-Camden, Hemphill, Garrison, and Newton.
  5. Looking pretty good in practice! I'll let you know more after tonight!
  6. Woodville vs. Shepherd @ Texas Slam in Livingston. JV starts at 4.
  7. Go read the topic "District 11-3A D1" and see what people are saying about the program.
  8. Well well well. Look who stepped it up a bit. Good job Coach Waldie. Toughest schedule Woodville has had in a long time.
  9. I know Woodville has 3 freshmen who could be starting by the time the first game comes around. Marcos Broom at SS/C, Brock Holmes in the outfield, and Wyatt Bell at 3rd. What other freshmen in the area will come in and possibly make an immediate impact?
  10. Bryce Holmes, Woodville, Jr.
  11. Ivan Lockhart, RB, Woodville Ty Dennis, RB, Kirbyville Seth Cashet, OT, Woodville (6'4" 300lbs.)
  12. Mika Maxwell, Woodville's All-State first basemen, has committed to continue her softball career at Stephen F. Austin State University! Kinda late, but better late than never! Congrats Mika!
  13. Buna Coldspring-Oakhurst Kirbyville Kountze Trinity Warren Woodville My playoff projection: 1. Kirbyville 2. Woodville 3. Coldspring 4. Buna With EC out and Kirbyville down from last year, this district just got a lot more competit I've from top to bottom. Kirbyville lost a lot of talent, but will also bring back a lot of speed in the form of Ty Dennis. They should be a little down, but still the class of this district. Woodville returns the most starters of anyone in the district, including 1st team All District RB Ivan Lockhart. They were extremely young last year, so look for those young guys to step up this year and start to show production in numbers and compete for the district title. Coldspring's numbers have been down lately, which has caused a drop in talent level, but they're still a good program who loves their football. They'll compete well and beat out Buna for this last spot. Trinity had a very good season last year, defeating powerhouses Lexington and Corrigan-Camden. They should be pretty good this year, as well. They get this third spot. Buna will return more experience from a young team last year. Their problem is going to be keeping up with the speed in the top half of this district. Kountze should be way down. With the loss of Grayland Arnold, there aren't many other options. It should be a rebuilding year for the Lions, and if played right, can lead to a strong season next year. Warren will be down from a team that wasn't very good this past year. I hate to say it about my neighbors, but they'll be the bottom feeders of this district. Throw in your comments and opinions!
  14. I wouldn't say there's "no way" he flips. The chances are small, but there's obviously a chance if Strong is coming to visit. He can't just invite himself into their house, so he must be welcomed by him and his family. Strong is setting up this class nicely.
  15. If Texas can get him to flip, that's monumental for their offensive line. Imagine him on one side and Jean Dellance on the other. Wow. Texas is setting themselves up nicely for a top ten class if they can bring in Hudson and Brandon Jones out of Nac.
  16. Not by making comments like that lol I've criticized coaching and maybe questioned a couple morals, but never made comments like that.
  17. I didn't say that at all.
  18. 2011, 2012, and 2013, in football actually. And 2013 in basketball. Take your bandaid somewhere else. You aren't being "brutally honest", you're being brutally childish. If you want to voice your opinion, then by all means go ahead, but attacking a female superintendent based on your displeasure with an athletic program is uncalled for.
  19. Colmesneil is a very wishy washy school when it comes to talent. They'll be the first to tell you they're a baseball school, but they also love their football. Over two or three years, they'll have a very competitive football team, then it's like it just falls off the tracks. Good community and good school though. The football program does need some work, but it is not lost by any means.
  20. That's very admirable of you, sir. Cut the bull crap. There's no logical reasoning for coming on here acting like a child and degrading a woman.
  21. Oh not at all. I'm not disagreeing with that. It is an awful program. But that is a result of a lack of talent, lack of steady coaching, and lack of administrative support. Excluding a couple of years in football and the baseball program.
  22. I do agree with that. Colmesneil is one of those classic small towns. It's all about who you know. My point in my previous post is that it's not okay to bad mouth anybody on a public forum like that.
