Be willing to bet there are more people worried about the lack of success than success at Nederland.

I see them winning 2 district games maybe 3 next year.

If you are looking for success at Nederland in the next couple years your best chance will be baseball.

Time will tell but it doesn't seem like people are buying into what the new coach is selling.

They could hire Nick Saban or Andy Reid and you wouldn't buy in.

Prime example for a certain player a few years back  named Preston Riggs for PNG perhaps the best receiver we have ever had. He was All State in Football, Baseball, and Soccer.

Yep, most of the people I played with were in at least three sports and we had to do track as well.

I don't care what it is. You are spreading misinformation about the kid. It wasn't because of a past injury. It didn't happen during footwork drills.

And I bet you didn't run any Oklahoma drills in helmets only. I am just curious now if you are the same person hiding behind a fake username on facebook making dumb comments as well.

    Enough.

Looking back at the exact wording, it seems like you are correct and it was the concrete barriers that were the ultimate problem.

I mentioned it in my last comment, even if it was just the barriers, did Texas take his property?

I think a case like US v. Causby might go a long way to proving his case. Causby had an egg farm and during World War II, the US government started flying four engine heavy bombers for the war effort, low over his farm at full power. The extremely loud noise killed a bunch of his chickens and caused many of the rest of them to quit laying eggs. Even though he legally still on the property, he sued, saying that the federal government had effectively “taken” the use of his property from him.

The US Supreme Court sided with him, saying that for the purposes of the Fifth Amendment, the federal government had indeed taken away the use of his property. It wasn’t intentional but that didn’t matter.

It seems like this case would fall somewhere along those lines.

Yeah it was the barriers, no holes to allow the water through.   I think, his claim is loss of use of his property due to the flooding caused by the State.  That is how he is claiming Texas took his land.

Should. Not sure that will happen in a strong district like they are in. PN-G, Lake creek and Huntsville are established teams.

Really?  Huntsville was 4-5 for the 21-22 season and  4-7 for '22-23.  Just last year they made a jump into the playoffs. Now Lake Creek has been strong the last couple of years. Again, everything is cyclical.

Png also has 219 more kids in high school then nederland.

And Nederland has beat teams from bigger schools plenty in the past, including PNG.  :) .  What was the excuse all those years Neumann sent them home packing?  They had a bigger enrollment then.   I wouldn't count on school size dictating the size of the fight in the Dog.  😈

I got a gut feeling the UIL will greenlight this. I think they might think they will be appeasing two for one since it shapes up as a package deal. For BH, Angleton is closer, 73 miles and 1:10 drive time, but that can expand due to Houston Friday rush hour traffic and lots of lights. Lufkin is 1:55 and 115 miles, but its an easy cruise up hwy 59. I would still pick Angleton though.

FWIW, Calpreps had Lufkin the better team last season, Angleton was better in 2022. Whatever.

You made a good point there, I think the UIL "sometimes" looks at distance between opponents and doesn't take into consideration traffic in some areas, especially around the major cities.
