PURPLE 4EVER

Will be interesting to see how George Ranch reloads, they have one of the best running backs coming back this year (Darius Anderson).  The QB for this year (last year's back up) has a very good arm and is much more accurate than last years QB, but doesn't have the running ability.  If GR opens up the passing game, it could be VERY tough for defenses to stop Darius.  GR has a very good pre-district schedule (except for Nuevo Laredo).  Trip to PA Memorial at the beginning of the season!!!  Mr. Toups has a "road trip" back to the mother land.
 
Oh yeah....  Next football season the "Friday Night LIghts" page will be BACK!!!!   with my "Fearless Predictions".  Just got moved into my new house over CHRIST-mas and got my website moved to another service.  I will probably do weekly predictions for PN-G, Dayton, and George Ranch then pick one or two districts in Region III to predict with a Region III game of the week.  Couldn't be happier at my new home.  Going to give away the second winner of an "Always Believe" scholarship on May 26.  I am like the "twitter guy" for GRHS now and the Booster Club refers to me as the "Jedi of Believe".  Got to watch GRHS play Dayton in softball, WHAT A GREAT GAME!  Seeing my former student's excel was AWE-some.  Presley Bell (had an AWE-some 7th grade math teacher) played lights out!!!  So great after the game when I went to the Dayton side to see all the smiles.  Not burning bridges and leaving after 20 years in Dayton is nice.  Still have amazing friends in Liberty County.

Can't wait till Friday Night LIghts 2015, ps....  GRHS tangles with Crosby this week in baseball playoffs.

All I know is PNG and GRHS victories, mean GRHS plays my alma mater!!!!  Hope it happens!!!  Sorry I can't give you information on Ridge Point, other than there will be a lot of purple in the stands.

Congrats to the Broncos!  Was just AWE-some seeing my former students play well on both sides of the ball.  Presley Bell is BEAST!!!  Dayton superintendent came over and wished me well during the game.  Was great seeing Coach Wilson and Coach Bell being able to coach their daughters during their senior year.  Lots of smiles after the game when I went over and got pictures with my former students and saw some people I still call friends.  Leaving a place after 20 years and not burning bridges, I am pretty proud of that.  GOOD LUCK TO THE BRONCOS in the upcoming rounds!!!!  One at a time and keep on BELIEVING!!!!

You are correct Mr. liltex.  He has transferred to Lamar and is the starting center so far this Spring.  We went to his scrimmage last Saturday and will be attending the scrimmage tomorrow as well as the Spring Game on March 7.  He still has 3 years of eligibility left and we are looking forward to watching all of his games.  Being from Port Arthur and a graduate of Lamar this is very exciting for me and my family.  Lots of family anxious to watch him play for Big Red.
 
It's good to be back on the forum. I will be checking in on the High School forum as I can but hopefully we can get a good Lamar thread going on the College forum.

No knock on Crosby, but Division II was there for the taking this year.  Congrats on the Cougars for taking care of business.
 
Sad that both Quarter Final games for 5A are in the Austin area.
 
George Ranch plays Temple in Round Rock's very impressive looking Kelly Reeves Athletic Complex.
 
Something also needs to be said of Temple and Hutto's district, getting two teams in one district to the quarterfinals = stout.
 
A reporter standing by me at the GRHS game (who was also at the Temple Ridge Point game) said Temple wouldn't be able to match GRHS' speed after watching GRHS score 4 TD's in about 10 minutes in the second quarter.
GRHS was playing 2nd string midway through 3rd quarter.  Lots of guys got playing time. 
Hopefully Crosby's speed will be the winning factor vs Hutto.
 
Good luck to the Cougars...  Hopefully either GR or Crosby can win the Region Title and keep it in the Houston area.  Just doesn't seem right to play the Region III title game in the Austin area and not the Houston area.

WOW!  I am an inspirational teacher, but know reality when I see it...  Good luck to the Cougars...  Facts still facts...  If you were to have flopped Crosby and CE King in Division I and II, reality would have hit Crosby last week.  Two losing teams in round 1 from Division I (Foster and Elkins) would have BOTH been favored to win out in Division II.
Crosby's got a chance to get out of Region III in Division II.

Just ask Kingwood Park or CE King what round 2 was like playing the likes of Ridge Point and George Ranch (both of these teams 2nd string would dominate Crosby)

Senior laden team this year at GRHS.
 
Give credit to Kingwood Park defense stopping GRHS about 3 times on 4th down in scoring range, or else the score would have been worse.
 
Haven't seen the stats, but I believe GRHS had well over 500 yards of offense.  At half Kingwood Park had less than 50 yards of offense.
 
Kind of cool tonight...  My boss asked me...  "Why don't I get any pictures with the "ALWAYS BELIEVE" sign?"  BAM!  Got a picture of my principal holding the ALWAYS BELIEVE sign.  Fans are starting to yell out ALWAYS BELIEVE to me.  Just amazing that of all the schools I could have been in when I relocated from Dayton, that I end up at GRHS.  A state title game is within grasp of this team, if they just keep BELIEVING.

As mentioned...  Dayton is division 2 and GR is division 1.
 
I thought for sure more teams would put 8 people on the defensive line and shut down the GR ground game, but it just hasn't happened.
GR finally wore down a very good Elkins team and scored their first three times in the second half to put the game away.
 
After seeing Angleton play GR, they really don't have an air attack.  When I was at Dayton, nobody really ran on the Broncos.  If the Broncos can stop the ground game, I just don't see Angleton having enough speed on defense to stop Keener and McBride (who have been taught by the Yoda of ALWAYS BELIEVING)

The ALWAYS BELIEVE is really spreading on the banks of the Brazos.  I have truly been blessed since moving here.

Don't see either district sweeping each other, should be four excellent games in the area round.

CE King will have their hands full with Ridge Point (they aren't ranked in the top 5 for nothing).  Ridge Point had 4 turnovers this weekend.  They do that against CE King look for the Panthers to win.
 
Dayton should take out Angleton.  There are still kids playing on the Broncos who have been taught by the "Yoda of Believing".
 
Crosby should beat Calhoun, but Calhoun isn't that shabby and they were a semi-final team last year.
 
George Ranch doesn't throw the ball because they don't have to.  Haven't seen anybody put enough people in the box to stop the three big guns (#2, #5, and #1).  #1 is just as good as AJ Dugat, AMAZING player.  George Ranch will score AT LEAST 35 plus points on Kingwood Park.  #24 from the Panthers better have a huge game (doubt it against the speedy Longhorn defense).
 
Nice to see 21-5A SWEEP 22-5A out of the playoffs.  Made me smile when I saw that Dayton completed the sweep when I got into the car after the Elkins - George Ranch game.  Miss all of you in Dayton.
 
Saturday night was pretty sweet for me...  Had another Longhorn give me an ALWAYS BELIEVE shout out after a TD, between the 3rd and 4th quarter when I was changing sides, adults in the stands (don't know them) were yelling ALWAYS BELIEVE at me, and to top it off, after the game I had an elementary kid give me an ALWAYS BELIEVE shout out.  They are going to start selling ALWAYS BELIEVE shirts very soon with some of my sayings on the back to help fund the ALWAYS BELIEVE scholarship.  Hated to leave everything that I was in Dayton, but when the good Lord tells you it's time to move, you need to follow.  So many blessings have come my way.  Within a month I am moving into new home that is being built.
 
That being said...  Coach Stewart told me when I left that I would always be a Bronco.  GO BRONCOS!!!  Keep BELIEVING and you keep advancing.

Just ask Barbers Hill about a #1 playing a #4.  Seems like yesterday Ozen went to the ant mound and made a very good Eagle team a one and done team.  No team should take another team for granted in the playoffs.  One big play that gives your team momentum can carry them to victory.

Forgot to share this last week, but the kids are really getting to know me better....
Last Thursday when GRHS beat Angleton I got my first ALWAYS BELIEVE shout out after a TD.  The guy scoring the TD is one of the three kids that spearhead the Longhorn offensive attack.  Nice speed to get around the corner.

Last night Foster needed a miracle to beat Calhoun on a last play 38 yard hail mary pass to win 28 - 22.
Tonight at Traylor look for the Longhorns of George Ranch to stampede the Terry Rangers 48 - 17.

Friday was easily the greatest day I have had as an educator since leaving Dayton.  The crowd chanting ALWAYS BELIEVE and after the game the players giving me an ALWAYS BELIEVE shout out.  What an amazing day.

This is the correct poll. Elkins is the rightful #1, Foster, Ridge Point, and George Ranch are numbers 5, 6, and 7. Unreal. If Texas City beats Bush in district play it's likely that two of these teams are eliminated in the first round. One of the winners will get #3 Temple down the road.

I also found it interesting that district 25 has 4 of the top 16. That district could potentially produce both semifinal reps.

He is doing alright last I heard. Had surgery on his knee I think last Thursday. Hope he will be able to come to the game Friday.
