Once upon a time, there was a Panther, a Jaguar and a Bear in the forest. They were feasting on a little Tiger when suddenly some Indians showed up and set their Bulldogs loose to tree them. They were fighting back with all their might when suddenly from out of the blue they were attacked by a bunch of Raiders and Pirates on the fastest Mustangs you've ever seen. After all the commotion they were left in a shambles when suddenly a flock of birds flew in to feed on their carcasses, there were Hawks and Eagles and even Cardinals. In the end there was nothing left of them. All of this was witnessed by a Titan hiding behind a tree. The End

I think the Raiders will surprise a lot of ppl this year. (I HOPE) With a more versatile offence and the defense having a chance to take a breather, I'm sure it will be better than last year.

After 3 state championships this year, I would say us east of the trinity are no longer inferior to those west of the trinity

Wow it's already almost that time of year again?!

As of this morning, I have reached out to all coaches in the area and sent them questionnaires for the SETXsports Team Previews (which begin on July 1st).  If you didn't get yours, please e-mail me at [email protected] or by pming me here and I'll get that out to you.
Some coaches have already responded and the task of putting the previews together has been done.  I thank them for that (especially since they are under no obligation to do so).
Thanks in advance to the coaches for their help.  And I will have the schedule for the team previews up soon.

You know I know who said it...  And I know you shouldn't take what they say to heart...  Because 'they' are likely to say ANYTHING to get under people's skin.  I know.  Let it roll off your back like water on a duck...  

I get what you're saying, but when I was in Jasper as a kid, we had a long-running tendency to schedule up and the Bulldogs probably won 70% of those games for a 15-20 year period. If a coach is scheduling easy games to enhance job security, maybe he isn't the right coach. 

My thoughts on the issue are simple. Taxes, sadly are mandatory. The parents make a choice when they decide to homeschool and they certainly have the right to do so. The consequences of that choice mean you forfeit some of the privileges of paying those taxes. This includes school sports.  

you seem to be the big guy thats all talk & no facts to back up your negative remarks about Barrow.But in the same breath you say Larry set the standard of championships & playoffs while barrow was with him & learned the whole time. So i guess Barrow didnt learn anything & is too big of a bonehead to keep a succesfull program that i assume you were apart of going? A masters degree is piece of paper saying you completed college classes to be able to obtain more salary, it has nothing to do with a persons ability to coach or get their job done successfully. So be honest what is your beef with Barrow? Who was the most qualified & what facts on their resume make them better? I've never heard who you are & im sure Coach Barrow & all the "hometown good ole boys" would love to know who it is thats so against them. But you could never do that because you probably tell them all how great guys & coaches they are to their face lmao. I have 2 boys going to be playing football & several younger nephews at Nederland & thats the only posse im concerned about.

Yes.  The numbers are staggering.  And they're fairly similar will all sports.  I read one time that the chances of getting an athletic scholarship are the highest in women's golf.  Which is still less than a 2% chance.
I always use basketball as an example (ex college player).  Not only the vast numbers of high school seniors..but also every kid that plays at at junior college and every 18/19/20 year old that plays overseas that would love to play college ball in the states.  Number of D1 schollies given every year...about 4000.  And like those numbers suggest it is quite a feat.  I think there's about a 3% chance of a high school athlete making a college roster.  Of all of those college athletes there's about a 1% chance of turning pro.
I really wish people would be honest with their kids about it.  If a kid wants to know they should just ask me.
"Think I could play college ball?"  What's your GPA?  "What's that?" Nope.  How tall is your daddy?  "5.." Nope.  What's your 40 time? "5.." Nope.  What's your vertical leap? "Twenty..." Nope.

I always love seeing those numbers. So many of us thought we were going to the league, especially if we started as freshmen at a FBS school. It just ain't that easy. Lol. Get that degree!

Seems Beaumont has a lot of thieves in places of power. Not good at all.
