Katy also knocked out Atascocita last year. Colbert's got them playing decent ball. LaPorte is no slouch, but we should beat them handily.

Im disappointed that they didn't put a tougher team in 21-5A. LaPorte has been good, historically, but I think Atascocita is a better program at this time and I would rather have them in our district that the Bulldogs.

I wouldn't expect a preseason ranking. The pollsters haven't exactly been too kind to SE Texas schools in recent years. I would actually prefer not to be ranked. No bullseye on our backs, and the kids will stay more focused.

Jr has played most every position on the field. I could see him going in at receiver or safety if Josh is put in the game. Other than that, I believe Bruce's status as the starting QB are safe next year.

Thats great for 17-5A.....they've got two teams that can potentially win state. What makes it all that much worse is the fact that WB could have beaten Cinco Ranch. Oh well, maybe next year.

I had several people sitting around me, listening to all the noise that was coming from the CR band....especially when we had the ball, and asked, "Why doesn't the WB band do the same thing to them when they have the ball?" I guess he's got no Kahonas, man! Something needs to change there, because not only did we get beat by a formidable opponent, we got beat by the band , their fans, and the officials. Something needs to be done so as to level the playing field. We need to take a page from the CR playbook, and give them a little back next year!

BTW, did anybody else notice how HUGE their O and D linemen were? My God, they all looked like D1 college players. THey pushed our offensive line around pretty good in the first half, and they opened up huge holes for their RB's to break free on. They will probably end up in the finals, IMO

Just got back from the game. Really disappointed in the outcome. It was evident from the beginning that our boys did not show up to play. We had too many costly mistakes, and five turnovers in the first half, and when you operate like that it makes it very difficult to bounce back from. KUDOS to the Cougars, as they outplayed us today. They are very good, but they are definitely beatable. We showed that in the third quarter, as we kept them out of the end zone, and scored 2 times to shorten the gap 35-20....but it was too little too late, IMO. All good things must come to an end, and today it was our turn. Hold your heads high Bruins, as you played beyond our wildest expectations this year. We'll get'tem next year.
