82 5A State Champs

On a side note, the folks on the big 5A board are saying that WB will be the toughest opponent that HT has played all year. I'm not sure that we can say the same thing. They are aware of what WB brings to the table, and they respect us. Expect a hard fought game on both sides!!!!

I think the impossible can be done. If we lose, noone will give this game a second look......because, quite frankly, people are expecting us to lose. BUT, if we win this game, we will no longer be able to fly under the radar. I'm proud of our boys, either way. Go gett'em Bruins!

No big suprises here. I'd venture to say that we're probably, hands down, the best 7-3 5A team in the state. It would've really suprised me if we had jumped PN-G. Oh well, maybe next year.

Can we bank on seeing you at the Hightower game? You, I've got to meet! ;) Most of you that know me will tell you that I dont beat around the bush....I tell it like it is. I feel pretty comfortable in the fact that we SHOULD win this game against Deer Park. GUILTY!!!  ;D I did look at the bracket. But I'm trying to keep things in perspective. Admittedly, by beating NS, we actually probably put them in the more favorable half of the bracket, and put us in the tougher side of the bracket. But I'll take it, AND the district title! I just hope we have our guns ready, and come away from Saturday's game with a few trophy bucks! :D

I mean, that's what you're suppose to do when you beat a district rival that you have much respect for. And they respect us just the same.

[/quote]I'm telling you guys, this is not going to be as easy as you think. It takes a good team just to make the playoffs, but it takes a combination of being lucky and good to win in the playoffs. We've been lucky a few times in the past, and I hope that trend continues. But please dont start looking four or five weeks ahead to who we might play, or how far you think we might get. We need to concentrate on Deer Park right now, and let the chips fall where they may, as to who we might see if we get past DP. I'm just saying, I've been here alot of times in the past, and I've always been disappointed when I start looking that far ahead. One game at a time!

I dont like the potential second round matchup for us!!!! Hightower is a BEAST!

I look at it like this.....WB beat Central by 6 in regulation. It took PN-G 2OT's to beat the Jags....just barely. I dont see where the controversy is. WB should be #1 in my book. PN-G would most likely been taken apart by NS. Granted, we have 3 losses, but you have to look at the top teir 5A teams that we lost to. I'll bet you if we were to play some of those games over that we lost, I'd venture to say that we turn 1 or 2 of those losses into wins. On a side note, PN-G is 0-8 lifetime against West Brook.....'nuff said!

DANG! I guess Katy gets a little revenge from last years loss to CR. I kinda wish they were in D1 instead if D2......Bruins want a rematch!

The important this here is to concentrate on Deer Park and not look ahead to Hightower in the second round. We have to beat DP to have a chance to play HT. BTW, HT was a state finalist in D1 last year. They are the real deal!

FINALLY it's settled. I'm sure glad it's not gonna be on Thursday night. Unfortunately, I wont be in attendance. But I'll be calling for updates. Big NMRA race at Houston Raceway Park that I'm competing in, on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Go get them Bruins!!!!
