There is no “deep state.” It’s just two different teams selling fables to their supporters. Russian collusion, Ukrainian quid pro quos, election interference, voter fraud… all just made up nonsense to get their bases motivated to vote. A lot of people pick a side and stay loyal, no matter what.

The idea that Paxton is virtuous and all others an are “swamp rats” indicates an unreasonableness that quite simply shouldn’t go without a complete psychological examination. But back on subject. My opinion goes like this. No matter which R candidate is chosen, Trump gets an automatic “yes” vote on everything. He just needs one of them to get elected, but the outcomes for Trump wont change unless Talarico gets elected. I like cornyn’s chances of getting endorsed and nominated better now that he finished first in the primary. BUT Paxton’s AG position brought with it a license to legitimately raise havoc on a statewide and federal level. Paxton’s willingness to pursue baseless claims and loyalty to Trump were invaluable. As AG he could sue anybody, make any outlandish claim, IGNORE ANY CRIMINALITY, etc… as a senator he can do what? Vote yes? Vote no? Sponsor a bill that never sees the floor of the senate? It’s a waste of his experience and lack of principles. That’s why I believe that the backers like Tim Dunn didn’t want Paxton to run for Senator. But I’m not sure where this leaves everybody. Paxton will need a job. Could Trump have him picked to succeed Bondi? Her job expectancy should be measured in minutes, not months at this point. It’s also important to note that the senate is the more refined of the two bodies. You typically don’t have the theatrics that you see in the House. I suspect that the last thing that any of the senators want is Paxton on the scene, being Paxton. Rand Paul is bad enough. Do they want a complete tool who’s willing to do anything and everything to please Trump, no matter what, while effectively lowering the average IQ of the whole body? No. And they might have Trump’s ear on the thing. “Endorse Cornyn and we’ll pass the SAVE Act,” or something like that. It’s too early to tell, but generally speaking Paxton would make a crappy addition to the Senate, while also losing his effectiveness and range as Trump’s lap dog. in my opinion, of course.

Oh, my… The news today is that Paxton stated that he wouldn’t withdraw from the Senate race if Trump endorsed Cornyn. Trump fired back with “that’s bad… it might make me endorse the other guy (Cornyn).” [Hidden Content] Later this afternoon Paxton somewhat backed off saying that IF the SAVE Act were passed, etc, he would drop out if Trump endorses Cornyn. Let me get this straight. A candidate needs to preemptively agree to drop out of the race if not endorsed by Trump in order to gain the endorsement? That’s bananas. Here’s a question for Reagan, and anybody else that supports Paxton. If Trump endorses Cornyn, will you move your support to Cornyn? Do the voters in Texas get to pick their next senator, or does the President? I think Trump probably prefers Paxton, but also recognizes that Paxton is a liability in the general election. If Trump loses enough senate seats, he might not be able to fight off any of his future impeachments. He needs Cornyn to win against Talarico. But he’s also going to have to find a job for Paxton, since Paxton will be out of a job on 1/1/27. I could also see Trump offering Paxton tbt US AG spot if Bondi goes down. I think Trump is playing games and will endorse Paxton shortly.

Well…. He lasted longer in the job than “Nazi Noem.” And it’s funny that you were in here yesterday complaining about wasteful spending, but you don’t apparently have a problem with Noem buying luxury airliners for her and Lewandowski to join the Mile High Club in the master bedroom suite, or her giving her friend 200+million dollars worth of no-bid contracts. Even Republicans like John Kennedy admit she was terrible.

I haven’t heard from anybody who felt like his promise to endorse the r candidate for Senator from Texas and effectively end the race is a good idea. I thought Texans picked our our representation, not Trump. That’s about as bad of a disenfranchisement as when the Dems selected Kamala in 2024. But Trump said it best this week when he said “MAGA is Trump” in response to criticism from Megyn Kelly and Tucker Carlson. That’s all MAGA is for… it not conservatism or Amercia-it’s about Trump and whichever direction his hot air blowing today. If Trump says the first thing negative about Noem, yall will be parroting everything bad that I’ve said about her over the last three months, just because that’s the way that Trump feels now.

It’s sad when the candidate with zero integrity keeps turning out to have the unwavering support of the GOP.

It’s important to note one thing… I think Trump’s ICE campaign has erased any gains made with Latinos across Texas in a single year. It’s shocking that the Ds had larger turnout than the Rs this primary season, despite the big fight on the R side over the senate seat. That hasn’t happened in 20+ years. People were sick of Trump and his antics by the end of 2020. I think that over four years they forgot how much they hated his childish behavior and horrible job performance, or maybe just hated Kamala for any number of legitimate reasons. So we got Trump 2.0. All signs are pointing to the Ds outperforming themselves this fall, and i think it overdue. It’s time for conservatives to take control of the Republican Party from MAGA. The days of “let’s figure out who the biggest POS is here, then elect him” are hopefully coming to an end. I hope so, anyways. It would be delicious irony if the Rs trot out a corrupt adulterer who then gets jobbed by a Presbyterian seminarian who happens to be a democrat.

One of the big reasons why Paxton only spent 4 Million…. Some of his major financial backers asked him not to run, but he did… so they cut him off. [Hidden Content] I'm curious if the big donor bucks are what’s really keeping Trump from endorsing the guy he’d assume to be the most MAGA…. Paxton. Paxton is as slimy and corrupt as they come, so that’s right up MAGA’s alley. I think the money would abandon Paxton at this point, but the mouthbreathers on the right are infatuated with him, even though he’s a complete crook.

I’m glad Talarico won… if Paxton is the R nominee, I’ll be voting for Talarico. It’s time for the right wing nut jobs to get back in line in Texas. “We The People” my you-know-what.

Iraq… I’d say 1991 was a win, technically, even if we didn’t take out saddam. But the second time? WMDs weren’t found. That’s another L. Afghanistan… seeing as to how our friends were falling off the last flight out and the Taliban took back over instantly, that’s an L, too. I guess you measures wins in some means other than “we accomplished what we set out to do.”

It turns out most of them worked for a special fbi counterintelligence unit tasked with tracking Iranian threats. This is what happens when you have a guy that builds hotels in charge of your military, intelligence, etc… it’s like having a drunk raccoon perform a root canal on you with a hammer.

It’s about scale. People throw big numbers around without realizing what they actually mean. If you earned a dollar per minute, in 11.5 days you’d have a million dollars. If you earned a dollar per minute, it would take you 31.7 years to hit a billion. That’s 11 days to 31 years of a difference. A trillion? 31,700 years at a dollar per minute. Throwing million, billion, and trillion around interchangeably really understates the magnitude of our spending problem. The problem is that both sides have enjoyed an open checkbook for far too long. Conservatives are like “cut taxes… it’ll fix itself.” The libs are like “raise taxes on the rich… that’s going to fix everything.” Tariffs won’t fix it either, btw. The truth is that we’re going to have to cut spending and raise taxes on everyone or it quite simply won’t survive. But by all means, let’s raise that borrowing limit Politicians won’t say this because they’d lose their gigs. The American public won’t stand for it because we all want it all, and expect someone to foot the bill. But it’s as certain as that guy in Titanic that’s was like “oh, I can assure you, it can and it will (sink).” But you’re correct… nobody cares about the debt and deficit.

Great sentiment… but are you willing to sacrifice those same grandkids for whatever it is that were fighting for? But that’s what’s actually being asked of you, not some hypothetical granpappy “well, if I still could, I would” nonsense.

“We’ve got plenty of missiles!” Which pretty much means we’re running short of missiles. Reports say that Trump offered a ceasefire and the Iranians were like “yeah….. no.” There’s 90 million of them used to fighting. There are 330 million of us who would surrender if you told us we’d have to give up our Starbucks. We’re soft, fat, lazy, and no one under the age of 30 has been in a fistfight, and they’ve been conditioned to report bullying, not stand up for themselves. America is a fattened calf.

Well, call me crazy, but when’s the last time we swooped in and brought about a successful regime change? “It’s gonna be different this time because Trump is in charge!” No, it’s not. Those people were scrapping for centuries before we got mad about taxes on our tea… the only thing that’s happened in the last 70 years is we’ve lost every conflict we’ve gotten ourselves into. Korea, Vietnam, Afghanistan, Iraq, and now Iran. You could say that we won in Desert Storm, but the fact remains that we didn’t finish the job and had to go back. It’s hard to call that a win. I guess we can celebrate our big win in Grenada back in the day. This is Trumps war… he wanted it. He started it, and now it’s going to play out however it plays out.

And most of them were me looking out, I bet.
