SCOTUS Rules Against Trump Administration IEEPA Tariffs

After watching the artist formerly known as Prince Andrew get arrested, we KNOW that Trump has to do something to distract from the Epstein sex ring that he participated in. We are definitely about to start firing all of our newest weapons at some little country on some made up excuse. We all know that neither Trump’s DOJ, nor the Republican controlled Congress even want to investigate the claims, much less do anything about it if the evidence is unfavorable to Trump. How awesome would it be if someone like the EU “Maduro-ed” trump off to jail in another country for his alleged crimes, kinda like he does when he covets another country’s oil reserves?

Personally, I think it’s ironic that Paramount (who owns CBS) just got the exclusive contract to broadcast all of Trump’s buddy Dana White’s UFC fights… one of which will be on the White House Lawn. In other news, the Netflix’s deal to purchase Warner Bros is still pending shareholder approval, but Trumps FCC says that they’ll likely kill the deal due to “competition concerns” by means of an anti-trust action, in favor of a new offer from Paramount. It’ll be fun to watch and see who comes out on top, especially with Trump’s big fat thumb on the scale. Also, yesterday Trump’s team just filed to trademark the name “Trump international airport,” meaning that IF an airport is named after Trump, he’d collect a licensing fee for the use of his name, both on the facility and on branded memorabilia. [Hidden Content] Coincidentally, legislators in Florida also announced yesterday that they want to re-name an airport in Trump’s honor. [Hidden Content] America First, I guess. He’s as corrupt as they come. This is some third world dictator mess coming off of MAGA these days. I mean, this is what Reagan and Baddog voted for, but what about the rest of y’all? How do you feel about Trump demanding royalties from the naming rights of facilities that are named after him? And how do you feel about MAGA politicians that are pushing these blatant enrichment schemes through their legislatures?

Not me… I’m fairly certain that I’ve never mentioned President Clinton in any of my posts. But you do realize that Rs were HORRIFIED at Bill having consensual relations with “that woman, Ms Lewinsk, but don’t mind the fact that Trump definitely sexually assaulted women (in his own bragging words to a reporter), as well as proven to have done the same to E Jean Kelly to a jury of his peers. The man is a serial assaulter of women, and philanderer, and quite possibly a pedophile, “but, but, but…. Clinton had an affair!” And for what it’s worth, that second impeachmet was legit. He not only should have been kept off of the ballot in ‘24, he should be sitting in Epstein’s old cell. The good news is that the be DOJ will be able to pick up right where they left off when he leaves office, assuming he’s not senile. Please, please, get out and vote Paxton for Senator between now and March 3rd. It’s the reason that Trump’s FCC is trying to keep Talarico off of late night TV, if you haven’t been watching that story. [Hidden Content]

Clinton got with an intern in the Oval Office, then lied about it to Congress-for which he was impeached. I denounce Clinton’s immoral and unethical behavior. But I don’t remember Dems re-electing Bill Clinton after he was impeached, unlike when the Rs re-elected Trump after being impeached TWICE. Dems are obviously more moral. So now I have your permission to spout off to the Trump fans, right?

There are tons and tons of half truths and whole lies. On one hand you have people looking at the worst accusations as gospel, and the other half dismissing everything in the files as rubbish when some of it is undoubtedly true. And both sides are wrong for their points of view. I have no doubt that Trump was involved in the nastiness. I mean, what should you expect from a guy that cheated on his nude model wife with a hardcore pornstar? But since MAGA didn’t hold him to a moral standard then, they won’t hold him to a moral standard if is proven that he sexually assaulted a minor. Y’all preemptively forgave him for sexually assaulting grown women… it’s not that big of a stretch to forgive him for sexually assaulting a slightly younger one. I mean… maybe he didn’t know she was underage when he grabbed her by the …….

It blows my mind how they get poor/middle class people to vote in rich peoples’ best interest. “We’re going to give tax breaks to the rich… they’ll spend more money, and you will probably make more money.” It’s like the people in Texas wanting to abolish property taxes. My dad is 77 and pays $800/ year. A 7% consumption tax on all of the goods and services that he purchases annually will cost him roughly $2500 year… a net increase of $1700/year-and he’s all for it. And if he has a crash like most old people and needs to replace his $50k truck? That’s another $3500 he’d have to pay that year. And he’s like “BRING IT ON!!!”

I’m just over here minding my own business.

Y’all literally did this to us. Canceled pensions, ran up debts, etc… Baby Boomers were self entitled jerks who took full advantage of the American Dream and made sure that no one else coming behind them will have a shot at the same thing. And there’s never been a more “Nero” president than the boomer that’s in office right now… tearing down the East Wing of the White House to build a gilded ballroom during the last shutdown. The fact that you would bring up Nero and not recognize the resemblance of DJT to Nero is just more proof of the disconnect between boomers and everybody else.

Judges interpret the laws passed by Congress. If the cuts were originated in the House of Reps as the constitution intended, there would be no need for the President to make cuts that could be turned over by judges because those cuts were in violation of the legislation passed by Congress. Say what you want about Texas, but we’re obligated to spend no more than we take in… a balanced budget is a part of our constitution. We don’t even try to pass a budget at the federal level anymore-hence the shutdown that we’re in again, pending another increase in the debt limit. And our conservative president wants to just do away with the debt limit so the government can just borrow us back into servitude to the rest of the planet.
-
When we talk about bloated spending at the federal level, it’s important to remember where that money goes. It’s salaries for government employees, grants to local governments, payments to contractors and suppliers who rely on government contracts for their existence. Heck, then those payments to employees and contractors create economic gains are then taxed. Cutting spending reduces tax revenues, too. It’s a vicious spiral. The debt is money that we borrowed to maintain a lifestyle that we can’t afford. Our very standard of living is a lie… we haven’t produced enough to pay for it. When we tighten our belts, it’s not just government that’s going to feel it… we all are going to feel it.
-
I support this, regardless of who’s in office. I’m concerned that the cuts have often appeared to be politically based, as in punishing groups/agencies we don’t support, while ignoring bloat in agencies that we do support. I’d like to see a blanket, 10% reduction in spending in every department mandated, with the stipulation that IF cuts result in a loss of services to the American people (closing national parks during a shutdown, for instance), the head of that agency will be removed from his/her/their post.

The problem that we’re in now is that with 39 Trillion in debt, we can’t stand anymore tax cuts. “Trickle Down” is a proven long-term failure. Yes, it gives the economy a short term bump, like when Reagan cut taxes and primed the economy in the early 80s… but it lead to the tax increases under HW Bush that had to happen. We’re about 10 years too late on increasing taxes to slow the growth of the debt, and it’s gonna look like the austerity period in Greece around here if it ever happens. Unfortunately, we’ve got the Bankrupter-in-Chief calling the shots and everybody on both sides of the aisle in Congress knows that the only way to keep their job is by promising gifts to the voters who are largely selfish and stupid. Tariffs aren’t the answer, tax cuts aren’t the answer…. We’ve got to cut our spending and that’s harder than ever now that the interest in our debt is the second largest component of our federal spending. At this point more tax cuts are like getting a payday loan to buy a steak when you’ve already got them all over town. Cut spending, but not just on the other guys’ projects… cut something you love.

He’s knows it, too.

Yeah… that $400k he supposedly donates every year is a drop in the bucket to 10 billion. Most attorneys charge a flat 40%, plus costs. That’s who’s really making out every time His Litigousness shakes somebody down. American history will be written in terms of 240 years “before Trump” and a very short period of time “after Trump.” We sold our soul to a failed reality tv show host.
