1. Consol wins... Wow. We'll see if LT can bounce back like the year they lost to both Aledo and Cedar Park during the season.
2. Rogers doesn't even have The Beast that is Nelson Kortis anymore!  ;D
3. I have a feeling LT pulls if off. They usually find a way.
4.
Bell has one td not 2. Linton has one, Dominick has one, and Paul Allen has the fourth.
Oh ok. These radio broadcasters are on crack. They keep saying the wrong names and numbers and go off topic frequently. Its getting annoying.
5. Montgomery 28 Caney Creek 7 Half Bell with 2 TDs, Dominick with 1 TD, and Linton with 1 TD.
6. Oooooooh!  :o (changed up my profile pic by the way BF, you might like it)
7. There was almost a full on brawl in the parking lot after the Montgomery-Brenham baseball game. That was fun  8)
8.
I would have to say yes to the statement that we hate Brenham but at the same time Willis and Caney Creek are in there, I played for Montgomery and we played Caney Creek when they were actually good. They just talk A LOT of trash and as far as sportsmanship goes, they have NONE, so I'd be looking for a lot of unsportsmanlike conduct calls and personal fouls, especially towards the end of the game. I'd also like to add that the only reason Montgomery hates Brenham is because they've never beat them, but at least there's some respect in that rivalry.
Well when I played CC, they just quietly took their beating and moved on. As for Brenham, yeah it's lopsided record wise but its been within 7 points like 5 years in a row now. Plus it's essentially been the District Championship game for 4 years, so that's what has made it a big rivalry.
9. I wasn't going to make this thread just because its cruel, but since you did I'll go ahead and say Montgomery 42 Caney Creek 7. The backups will get a lot of time, and depth isn't as good as the past few years so I wouldn't be surprised to see CC score a late TD. And by the way, we don't "HATE" CC, that's reserved for Brenham. Hating CC would be like hating the special kid in school. It's just wrong...
10. I was glad to see the Montgomery passing offense got going this week. Josh was on the money with his deep throws. He had a 72 yard TD to Bodhi (whose knee is apparently fine since he dusted Huntsville's CB) but it was called back for "holding". They weren't able to throw very well in the first half due to weather conditions, but it got going in the second half. That combined with the Dedrick/Paul running combo proved too much. The Bear defense was outstanding. Only gave up a couple big plays in the first half, but was lockdown second half. They stuffed them on 3rd and 4th and inches multiple times. Looks like it'll be Montgomery with the #1 O and #2 D and Brenham with the #1 D and #2 O. It may be a down year for both programs, but it's still the same old Montgomery and Brenham.
11. I'm looking forward to "The Battle for Highway 105". And hopefully with the District Title on the line as usual!
12. 1a. Montgomery- The Bears started slow in the first half (partly due to weather conditions) against a good Huntsville squad, but pulled away in the second half. The Hornets keyed on Dedrick and the run game, but Josh was able to open up the passing game and get yards through the air. Defense made some key stops even though they gave up a couple big plays. Good win over a good team. 1b. Brenham- The Cubs continued their domination of Mag West, though not quite in the same blowout fashion as past years. Cubs defense held West to 7 and the offense and special teams showed enough life to earn themselves a tie for first. Once again it seems the road to the district championship will go through the Montgomery-Brenham game. 3. Huntsville- Hornets showed they're a good, athletic team and put a good fight against the Bears. They have some good athletes and should be on their way to a playoff berth. Their matchup against Mag West should be a good one and probably will decide 3rd place. 4. Magnolia West- The Mustangs' struggles against Brenham continued, but they played a respectable game and still seem to be a step ahead of the rest of the pack. They come to Montgomery in a couple weeks and The Bears are still bitter about last year's upset. 5. Willis- The Wildkats got into the win column, and finally  got on the scoreboard! They open up a district play with a win over Caney Creek and find themselves back in the revolving door that is 5th spot in the rankings. 6. Waller- They haven't played a district game yet but they won this week against a new Tomball Memorial squad. We'll see if the Bulldogs can ride this momentum into district play. 7. Bryan Rudder- Rudder starts off district with an upset over Magnolia which allows them to move up in the rankings. They capitalized on mistakes and that's the type of play that wins you games. 8. Magnolia- Bulldogs got off to a rough start and it will be an uphill battle to get into contention. Is this the same old Magnolia? Time will tell. 9. Caney Creek- The Panthers find themselves back in the basement. It should be interesting to see how they compete with Rudder and Magnolia.
13. Looks like its going be yet another Montgomery-Brenham showdown!
14. Hmmm. That's surprising. I didn't think Rudder would win this one at all.
15. I'm curious about how Brenham's freshman team looks. They have to contend with a loaded Montgomery freshman class the next three years.
16. Montgomery Freshman A beat Huntsville 34-0. They pulled the starters after 1Q apparently. That team is 3-0 (including beating Angleton and Dawson). The Montgomery freshman class is loaded with weapons, I coached them in 7on7 during the spring and summer. They split into 3 different 7on7 teams and all 3 made the Jr High "State Tournament" (It's really just Houston Area). The team I coached won the whole tournament so that was pretty cool.
17. texas said they've "moved on" so I'd bet it's safe to say they're out of the picture now.
