1. Discipline is giong to be a HUGE factor in their success. I hope those guys can get that thing turned around. Lots of good athletes, there just has not been much discipline over there. Good group of coaches, ( and ) I would love to see them bust BH up!!!    ;D
2. Wish Hardin and the new coach the best... but you still have to have players to win in THAT 2A district.
3. BH kids are concentrating on Golf, Tennis, One Act, and Playstation 3. Not so much concentration on Football.  ;D
4. High Island is too far gone. I agree with previous post... I just don't see anyway for them to continue. I've also heard rumors about the way the school is being run from the absolute top ( board ). I'm not getting into specifics about what could be nothing more than rumors, but heard there is some illegal things going on. I know they lost their AD and Principal - both after only 1 year!!! Can't be a good sign.  :o :o
5. aggieballer96 : If you ACTUALLY believe anything you're saying about DeBerry and his coaching - YOU'RE A MORON. Not prepared..? that's ridiculous. They were up on one of the top 3A teams in the state...!!! Now, if you're just trying to rile people up with that idiotic statement - no problem.  ;D
6. I'd like to see C.E. King do well. I'll be rootin' for Price and those guys over there.  ;D
7. Is this the kind of Football players BH is using this next year...?  ;D
8. These 2 are good football players. I watched Crosby play 2 games last year. Very talented duo and they seem to be good kids too.
9. I would have dropped their little spoilt pansy rear ends off at the police station and had their parents drive out to pick them up. More news of parents that blindly supporting their children instead of holding them accountable for their behavior. Hey guess what... "It's not my fault that my kid acts like a enabled brat. Who else can I blame?"  :'( :'( :'(
10. If Coach Dale stays in Kountze, things WILL get better. You can count on it. He is a good coach and a good person. If Kountze would just support what he's doing and give it some time, he will build a great program.
11. Not at least giving Brandon Craus from Dayton an interview, is ABSURD!!!  :o :o :o Well, Anahuac... You missed on a great young Coach that would have done great things for your program.
12. I saw the Dayton Broncos OC - Brandon Craus' name on the list. SURELY Anahuac ISD is smart enough to give this guy an interview...! I have talked to this guy. Long term coach under Jerry Stewart who has definitely learned how to run / organize / develop a program. If Anahuac ISD is serious about finding a guy that knows how to win games and run a program, they should give this guy a shot.
13. This is the absolute stupidest arguement on this forum... It's this simple. Assuming that kids have a SIMILAR skill set, receive SIMILAR levels of coaching ( to better understand the game and it's situations ), and are afforded SIMILAR opportunities to play - THE BIGGER, FASTER, STRONGER KID WILL ALWAYS WIN. Count on it. Now, can we please get back to who would be a good fit for the H-F athletic program...?
14. Guess the people of Liberty should have thought about that before they ran Jeff Stewart out of town? All that guy did ( and the one before him ) was win. ALOT. I not positive but I am pretty sure that those two made the playoff something like 15 out of 18 years! And several of those years going 3 rounds deep. Look at it this way, at least Liberty has soccer now.  ;D
15. I remember DJ Devers, he was REAL good too. But I gotta stick with Gaskamp as far as Dayton's best. A true old school LB. Unmatched instincts for the ball, violent collisions, open field tackles, closing speed in traffic, and very strong. Gaskamp's only negatives, ( i.m.o. ) a little undersized ( 5' 9 or so ) and not phenom speed ( high 4.6 or low 4.7 ). What a great H.S. LB though... Man that kid could play.
16. No doubt about it, Danny Gaskamp. ( I think it was '03-'05 ).
17. Hey uknow-a whole lotta nothing... How about supporting a school instead of bashing on it. I saw you at a few Hardin games and you didn't have anything to gripe and complain about then...? Wonder why that is?    ??? By the way, what school is your boy playing at these days?
18. What is wrong with you idiots? >:(  I am soooo sick and tired of listening to this crap. "H-F is better off, nu-uh BH is better off, nu-uh Don Price is better off"...? Gosh almighty - who cares!!!!!!!! Get a life and get off of the stupid computer. Don Price is gone, BH has a new coach. H-F has a new coach. Root for your kids and your school of choice and stop acting like a bunch of whiny a** tidy babies. Coaches change jobs, school's success levels go up and down, kids are there to be coached - get over it, shut up and support the school you like.  ;)
19. You gotta love H.S. Football...!!! Anything can happen. There were some MAJOR upsets this last week ( 10/8 - 10/10 ). Anyway, I have seen both teams play this year and I will say that Anahuac is CONSIDERABLY better than E.C. I watched Anahuac demolish Hardin and I have also watched EC vs. Buna and Hardin. No doubt Anahuac wins this one. This is for the District Championship - so I'll easily say : Anahuac 49 - EC 14.
20. I have seen both teams play and both are pretty good. Both Defenses has shown to be real tough and stingy at different times. I think this game will come down to who makes the least mistakes ( penalties, turnovers, Special Teams ). Both Offenses are VERY good and can put up big numbers. Hardin has a very potent throwing game, while Anahuac is blasting people with the run. 2 completely different offenses - both can score quickly. Anahuac's RB #10 ( Childress ) is freaking legit!!! This kid can play and has a big, strong OL. Hardin has some serious Offensive weapons too ( QB # 6, WR # 5, WR # 7, WR # 10 )...? Should be a great game. Good luck to both teams.
21. Mr. Payne : you need to keep in mind that ALL traditions have to start somewhere. I can remember when Dayton was the laughing stock of Football in Texas from the late 80's to the mid 90's...! The laughing stock of the whole damn state. Ya'lls ( Dayton's ) outstanding tradition was nonexistant until the arrival of Jerry Stewart in 1996. That is where your "power-house" image and tradition came from. And that tradition didn't happen over night. It has take years to reach that point. So why not let the people of Hardin celebrate ( JUST AS YA'LL DID ) when a Great Coach comes in and starts winning and building a good program out of a perennial losing program like Hardin has been. Is right now the start of a winning "tradition" at Hardin? That is yet to be seen, but still people get excited when their team shows improvement and playoff appearences where there have been none before. I am from this area, so I remember when Dayton would have celebrated for a month if they would have won a little league Football game, let alone becoming a H.S. powerhouse...
22. Bad play calling...? Wrong kids for the offense, QB is not that good b/c he is a coach's son - let me guess : your son is a back up QB or RB or something? Who cares if they ran the same play five times in a row against Cleveland? If what your doing is working, KEEP DOING IT...! The Falcons played Cleveland off of their feet last year and was one of Cleveland's closest games. And to answer you probable next question - Is what their doing working? ABSOLUTELY...!!!! Making the move back down the 3A, Coaching hard, playing hard, and training hard - The kids last year at Huffman made it back to the State Playoffs for the 4th time since 2003. Of which was one of only about 9 times in the HISTORY OF THE SCHOOL that they have been to the playoffs. So is what their doing working? Yes. Back to the I formation...? I am assuming you are referring to the era of 2003-2005 when Huffman had one of the biggest OL's in the state in ALL classifications. The OL "averaged" nearly 6'1" 300 lbs. ACROSS THE BOARD...!!! One of those that is playing Div. I Football right now. Where are those kids at in Huffman right now...? Back to the I formation - are YOU kidding me?
23. Truly on of the most tragic things. Prayers and thoughts go out to his family and friends. This is a very sad day for the Hornets. A great kid, with a phenomenal work ethic and complete team oriented attitude. May God be with his family, friends, teammates. :'(
24. Due to the "Turf Project" going on out at Hardin H.S., we have removed and will be selling our Football 25 second clocks. They are 4 years old and we purchased them for $4,427. We are selling them for $398 EACH. Good price for working 4 year old clocks. If interested contact Larry Haynes @ Hardin H.S. Cell : 936.776.0602 E-Mail : [email protected]
25. Anahuac, Hardin and EC have to be the favorites from the start...
