Regrettably, I would have to agree. The Broncos may not win another game this year.

The "good ole boy" system is back in Dayton. The wrong people ( people that don't care about Football being great every year ) are making decisions about the Football Program again in Dayton. I did a little research for everyone : Nobody cares about Football, just put a team on the field and hope the players will play... 1991 : 2-8. Terrible 1992 : 0-10. Terrible 1993 : 1-9. Terrible 1994 : 4-6. Bad 1995 : 2-8. Terrible Somebody comes in and finally gives a crap, and DEMANDS winning... 1996 - 2010 ( Jerry Stewart Years - in full control of everything regarding athletics/football and won't let ANYONE interfere with winning ) Wins, Wins, Wins, and more Wins. State Championship Appearance, State Semi's, many Regional Championship Appearances, many District Championships, and 14 STRAIGHT years in the playoffs. 2011 : 9-4. ( Hancock Era - still running the program how Jerry did ). Very good, Still Winning 2012 : 9-4. Still Winning 2013 : 6-6. Average, but still in playoffs 2014 : 8-4. Still Winning 2015 : 7-4. Decent, but still in playoffs We don't want the Coaches being that demanding on the kids, we want them to have fun, we just want greater program participation... 2016 : 4-6. Bad 2017 : 3-7. Terrible 2018 : 0-10. Terrible 2019 : 1-3...? Anybody notice anything glaring about these statistics... Kinda like a pattern isn't it?

Looks like this was a pretty good game. I'm glad Hardin is winning some games.

I wanna throw up saying it, but I have to agree with you. Dayton's football team is one of the worst in the entire area.

Man I was excited to see this game, ate a good meal before the game, good weather for High School FB, ready to watch the Broncos come out swinging when we laced it up against the Hill... and then my night was ruined with disgust. I have no idea what is going on in Dayton? This is the worst football I have seen in a long time. I'd be willing to bet that Dayton didn't have more than 100 yds of total offense...!!!! This was utterly pathetic. Whatever we are doing with the Option stuff is absolutely NOT working. Dayton is not in a slide, they have fallen completely off the map. I have loved watching the Broncos for a very long time, and it pains me to see what has happened to this "once upon a time" powerful football program. I hate to say it... but Dayton Football is laughable. We are terrible. Congratulations Administration and every adult associated with this program.

I know it's not likely, but I hope Lumberton bust Silsbee up. I like underdogs. ha ha.

No dog in this fight... but I hope Lee pulls off this one. Would be nice to see them start moving back to relevance again. Man they used to be a force to be reckoned with and fun to watch.

If this new offense is supposed to work, they better start scoring some points. Dayton will never be successful again scoring 7-10 points / game. The only time in the past 20 years that Dayton has been successful is in the Spread. So if this Option Offense is what these coaches are booking on... they better start putting up some points and stop turning the ball over. I hope the Broncos can get it going.

Sounds like this was a really good game. I am glad to see Tarkington trying to build something over there. If they will invest money into the program and pay to get/keep quality coaches, could be interesting to see what they can build. Growth is gonna move that way, with the development of 99 Grand Parkway cutting between Dayton/Crosby and also between Dayton/Huffman. The new HC seems to have the boys playing well right now, hopefully the Admin will do what's necessary to keep him around and build a program.

Whatever Dayton is doing Offensively is disgusting!!! Looks like they are trying to run the Option, but Jeez this is terrible. I feel sorry for those kids man. They look confused and unsure of themselves. What is happening to the Broncos? The only bright spot Offensively was at the very end of the game, they ran a little Spread stuff, and scored a TD. I miss Dayton Football. 😤

Man, New Caney is playing pretty good ball right now. I knew Crosby was gonna be down a little bit, but I didn't expect this game to be this lopsided. I figured it would be much closer.

I have been a fan of Dayton Bronco Football for over 20 years and this crap is pathetic...!!!! The absolute worst excuse for Football since the times before Jerry Stewart came to town. I'm not sure what's going on, but I can tell you that this program is getting destroyed. Now, let me start off by saying that I do NOT go to the Methodist church, nor do I have a kid anywhere in the program. So as a longtime fan, I hate to see what has happened to a once perennial playoff contender. And for another thing... you better be very careful with comments like those that contain your racial implications....!!! I would be willing to bet, that violates this forums rules. Maybe you should take your concerns to the coaching staff and quit hiding behind your keyboard on a public forum making idiotic claims like that. "Coaches don't care about these kids"... well why were there numerous occasions this summer where there we almost as many coaches at workouts as kids that showed up? Coaches don't Coach for the money, the Coach because they love what they do. So stand on up like a man, take your concerns to the Coaching staff and see if you get the answers your looking for. The only thing you said even remotely true... yes, it is a sad day in Bronco Land.

I am absolutely amazed that Dayton is this bad. What a sad day... This program has not just fallen from grace, they have taken a nose dive head first into completely pitiful. The once mighty Broncos are down and out. Something has to be done, there is no excuse for them to be this bad.

Some of you Dayton folks wanted Stewart out SOOOO bad... well, he's out and look where your program is at now. I hate to say it, but the Dayton Broncos are not any good right now. From the outside looking in ( I have only seen 2/3 games this year ) and 5 games from the previous 2 years... this is what I see, just my opinion. I think the program has gone soft. In the old days ( '95-'12 ) Dayton was a bunch of tough guys. The coaches coached tough, the kids played tough. There was no doubt that even when Dayton was outmatched athletically or by better teams, Dayton was always gonna battle your a** off. The Broncos were going fight to win all the way to the end. Well, that's gone now. It appears that there is a lot of "Oh well" attitude ( from everybody ). It doesn't look like the Broncos are very strong. The skill kids look very underdeveloped physically for Varsity FB players compared to some of the kids on opposing teams. The lineman kids look "thick" like they would be strong, but I just haven't seen the OL/DL kids "man-handling" anybody. From the stands, it looks like they get pushed around. Not that the players can hear it or anything, but dang the fans in the stands are so negative! At this last game, I was sitting near the 45 yard line about 6 rows up, and all I heard for 3 quarters were people b!TC#!ng and complaining. "Why are they running this play, why don't they call that play, these coaches suck, we can't tackle, the uniforms don't look good, why are we playing that defense, so and so ought to be playing this position, we suck - so they ought to at least put my son in"... seriously people, give it a rest. Everyone wants their team to win, but y'all are ruining the fun experience of the game. I know the team is not playing well now, but as a fan base... y'all are VERY negative. I'm just a guy that loves to watch football, but these are just my opinions of what I see happening over the last couple of years. Hopefully, the Broncos can turn it around and get back to the winning we like to see.

That is great news. I used to love watching Dayton play back in the 2000's. ( 2000 - 2010 ). Man they were exciting to watch, they played with a fire you don't see a lot in High School. I used to like to watch ole' Stewart tearing people up and the Coaches and kids were getting after it too.

WHAT...?!?!?!?!? Is Craus really coming back to the Broncos? That would be awesome. That guy can score some points. If this is true, could be a good thing for Dayton folks. Why in the world would Groveton let him go? I think he won back to back District Championships in Football and brought back a swagger to that program. I think their Baseball team was in the State Tourney last year, and I ran into him at the State Track Meet the last several years with kids from Groveton competing. If Groveton let him go, they are idiots. Oh well... Groveton's loss, Dayton's gain. I hope this is true, can anyone confirm?

ha ha haaaaa....!!!!! You hit the nail on the head Pig. It's funny to see all these "experts" arm chair QB'n everything. Most of them couldn't coach a pee wee team. Just because most of them are FB fans does NOT mean that they can coach their way out of a wet paper bag. I like your suggestion though : go get a 4 year degree, get a job coaching high school FB, and unleash their knowledge on all opponents. ha ha.
