1. I heard it might be done by that game. I think they are about to pour the concrete.
 2. He always had good hands, but Wo-s didn't use him that much. Last I heard he was getting some resistance from transferring.
 3. Ask the players from those teams how they were able to beat WO-s as underclassmen only to lose to them 40-0 as seniors. Yes,players from other teams might get better, but not to the level of WO-S.
 4.
Not sure about his play, but I saw him a few times last year at practices. He is twice the size that his dad was. If he has the ability and dedication that his father had then watch out! There are many kids of the 80's players that are in the WOS system now. Only time will tell if they can live up to their surname.
Nah, he's not twice the size of his dad. Maybe a little taller, but he doesn't have the muscles his dad had yet.
 5. I can't believe people are trying to make the argument that they can stay with WO-s because of what they were able to do when the players were younger. The difference between WO-S and other teams in the area is that, other teams players reach their peak at those younger ages, while WO-S continue to get better year by year. WO-s will have no competition in this area this year. They have most of their defense coming back and a talented back field to where they won't need to throw the ball, with a quarterback who has a year of experience and will be a lot better.

A lot of these kids are pretty close in speed though. Colin Janice(who was state runner up in the 400 meters as a soph.) is pretty fast too. He anchored the 4x100 relay when Mark Roberts was injured and did a great job. I think that's what makes Wo-s track team so good year after year. They have runners who all have state championship caliber speed. There are some J.v runners who can run with these guys too and a couple of upcoming freshman Deonte Thompson and Devin Moore who will probably be winning some state championships in track as well. They are also on the mustang football team.
Devin is fast, but he didn't run track this year. Trey Spencer, Troy Brinson and Ike are some others in that class that can fly and actually have better 40 times than D Thompson.
Yeah, Devin didn't run for the school this year, but will this upcoming season. He's doing very well for the Orange track club in his first year running track. Many of these kids have alot of speed. Yes Trey Spencer can run and can hit in football. Don't really know anything about the other two you mentioned, but I'm sure we'll be hearing from them soon. The Freshman football team will be very good.
Can somebody please tell me the name of the WOS running back that is like 5'4? I can't recall his name, but he is a beast. He had some very good runs against Vidor last year.
i think its britt lindsey
Britton Lindsey. There are two other running backs that people are going to have to look out for with Wo-s also.
 9. They had it in the Orange leader that he was disqualified. I was going off what they said. If he didn't Phillip will take care of him in state. He won after Phillip tripped over a hurdle.
 10. One correction. Phillip Jones finished first in the 110 hurdles after the winner was disqualified for running out of his lane.
 11. Today at humble Turner stadium Wos made it three in a row by winning the 3a regional championship and sending several runners to state. 4x100 relay-1st place 4x200 relay-1st place 100 meters (Ed Ivory) 2nd place 200 meters (Justin Thomas) 1st place 110 hurdles (phillip Jones) 2nd place 400 meters (Colin Janice) 1st place [Hidden Content]

 13.
I personally think that all the talk in support of Coach T on this site and the community forced the sup and the committee's hand in doing the right thing and the only thing, to hire the right man for the job, Cornell Thompson. Everyone here on the site is to be commended for doing their job making the sup and committee dtheir j why did I know someone was going to come in here and say that. What some of you almost did was cost him the job. This super is a tough guy who is going to make the tough decisions no matter how popular they are. I can reassure you that the other committee members felt no pressure,  they were going to do what was right for the school so you can stop patting yourself on the back. From what I hear T won it yesterday in his interview where he even got emotional and committee members were touched by the things he said. Congrats Cornell Thompson on being RECOMMENDED for the position of AD/HC at WOS High Here's to hoping the school board "does it's job" ;) and votes you in as athletic director.
Most of these players didn't like to play for Crouch when he was at Wos, they sure aren't going to follow him to a losing team. These kids grew up dreaming of being a Mustang. I can assure you that many players have been asked about this and most say the same thing and that is they don't care who the coach is,they just want to play ball. So these statements you are making are totally ridiculous and wishful thinking. If anything, alot of players might come back. Another thing, intimidation tactics no longer work in this country, it just pisses people off and it would end up hurting your candidate instead of helping. Calling committee members and stating me and other former Mustang's are keeping an eye on folks like you who obviously have a hidden agenda. Todd Broussard are you serious?  Is that yoa threat and who is folks like you?  Yes I called you out. Your gonna say something like this over the phone loud enough for this persons child to hear who's also a mustang player, then your gonna turn around and text this b.s. some of you are losing your minds and if coach T doesn't get the job, you can blame your self.  Kerry you participate in this foolishness, but when your talking to the committee members your totally different. Your in the media, you should know better then involving yourself in these intimidation tactics.  People calling other candidates, trying to intimidate them telling them to drop out is just wrong.  Most of you who are ranting don't even live in this area anymore so you can't do anything about any decision that is made other than cry like some little wimps ...grow up.
And ladies and gentlemen, here we have a member on the illustrious search committee, Erick Guillory.  Aggie, I have to do precious little in a post as by his one post here, Mr. Guillory has succeeded more than I could do in a 1000 in illustrating the concerns I have about the actions of this committee.  THIS is the type of individual that the superintendent has plucked out of the community to serve aside Hutcherson Hill, who I trust implicitly to engage in the search of the new head coach at WO-S and athletic director of the school district that I graduated from.  After this, there can be absolutely no dispute that any misgivings about the committee aren't reasonable.  I absolutely told you that people could lose jobs and board members could lose positions, that goes without saying.  It is a viewpoint that has, without prompting, been seen as a probably consequence by fans, coaches, school board members from neighboring districts and MOST IMPORTANTLY, taxpayers of the West Orange-Cove CISD. In fact, if I remember correctly in our discussion you yourself acknowledged that view.  As to me hollering, the only way your children heard my voice is if you put me on speakerphone as my wife who was but about 10 ft away could not hear our conversation, although I would doubtlessly be without blame if I started to raise my voice to your continued condescending admonitions to "listen and learn."  I guess that is how I should have known the conversation would go when your response to my original text to you in support of Coach Thompson received the response of "Y." If Coach Thompson doesn't get the nod, it is on you.  As a supposed "friend" of Coach Thompson that you "needed" material to take to the rest of the committee because there are all of these candidates who had resumes better than Coach T.  And I will repeat now what I said then, if you as a lifelong resident of Orange (although, I understand not a 4 year student at West Orange-Stark as you found yourself transferring to that "losing" program over at Little Cypress-Mauriceville for SOME reason which is probably the reason JohnnyT60, a father of a pretty well known LC-M alumnus, was questioning your placement on the committee), could not make a sound case for Coach Thompson, that you weren't trying.  In fact, it was you that told me that people needed to "show love" to Coach Thompson because the members of the committee weren't seeing it.  Pardon me, I found THREE different facebook pages endorsing Coach Thompson as coach (and I apparently unlike you took the initiative to send those links to Mr. Colbert).  If you would have done your homework, you would have found it quite easy to show the committee the support of the community for Coach Thompson as you told me was the role provided you by Mr. Colbert.  PLEASE, don't give me the "if Coach T is not hired, it is your fault."  If by some happenstance, Coach Thompson does not get this job, it is because YOU committee members REFUSED to listen to the community and coaching fraternity who to a person, have endorsed Cornel Thompson as coach (even reportedly those candidates recruited by the committee to compete against his application).  And if you personally don't opt for Coach Thompson, then you just foster the belief held by many that you never actually supported Thompson and that while professing your support, you were looking for an excuse to oppose him. And just exactly HOW can potential candidates be called? It sure hasn't been done by me. In fact, those candidates that I know to have been contacted by the committee are either through folks close to the candidate and in one case, you!  The freaking list of candidates hasn't been released! Nobody knows who the candidates are!  That is one thing that is fostering the belief that something is not on the up and up.  So any allegation that anyone has called a potential candidate, especially to try to intimidate him is an OUTRIGHT LIE, ERICK.  Although I must say that I am not surprised because that appears to be your reputation around Orange.  In fact, I should have gathered that as you proceeded to tell me this story about how the Orange Leader misquoted Mr. Colbert about the procedure and how an "apology" was going to printed.  I have checked the online version.  My parents in Orange have checked the print version. And ya' know what?  No retraction or notice of error!  Ya know why?  Because the Leader, and as I informed you, KOGT, both correctly quoted Mr. Colbert as to how the procedure would play out!   And finally, the coup de gras, "Most of you who are ranting don't even live in this area anymore so you can't do anything about any decision that is made other than cry like some little wimps."  This is really the language of an individual that I WOULD WANT to be involved in selecting a school district administrator. God bless you, Erick!  Thanks to you, people who thought I was out of my mind now can finally get a glimpse of what I have been seeing. BLESS YOU! BLESS YOU! BLESS YOU!
If you read my previous post you would know that I stated before that I am a female, so try again. Erick does not come on here. Many people have heard your hateful comments and it doesn't matter how they heard it, the bottom line is you said them. You are letting your emotions get the best of you and you are taking this somewhere that it doesn't need to go. If you want to know who I am I can arrange a meeting with you when I'm in Orange.

I don't want my comments to leave people thinking I have anything against him. I think he is a great coach, but as I stated there are some things that the new coach needs to be willing to do in order to bring this school and program to the next level. There are alot of good candidates and we want a great coach, but we also want someone who is going to care about every sport, every kid and give every kid the opportunity to succeed on and off the field. You say that kids get "runn off" because they dont fit the "look"? That is funny right there. the kids that leave, leave because they werent mentally tough enough to play at WOS. look and see where those kids are in life now. You probably dont want to know. I see you are one of those people that believe everyone wins and everyone plays. Well guess what, thats not life, thats 6 yr old basketball. Wow. i cant believe my "little jimmy" logic was just proved. I love it. You want to know where "little jimmy" schools go? No where. These kids at WOCCISD deserve the BEST coach for the job and the BEST opportunity to have dicipline instilled in them so they can succeed in life and understand that you dont always win. I will always support the kids. However, if the WOCCISD board doesnt have changes then I wont support them. These people are paid by our tax dollars. They represent the community and students at WOS, by bringing in an outsider i honestly believe it will hurt the kids. That is...if there will be any left at the school.
LOL. My little Jimmy? How old are you? my goodness. The committy is working to get the best coach for the job and for the  kids, but because they haven't moved in your favor, you question that? The process has to go on and the best person for the job will be chosen. It's a shame this has to be explained to some so called grown men.
