2. Coaches should have done what they did at the Wo-s vs. Columbus game. After all the dirty play by Columbus, both coaches realized that there could possibly be some bad blood, so to avoid confrontation, they just huddled their teams up after the game. The adults could have handled this situation better as well. If there was already nearly a fight in the 3rd qtr, then they should have known tensions would be high after the game. Both teams were wrong. Lamarque coaches need to teach their kids sportsmanship and not talking trash after the game...just shake hands and keep it moving and Ozen coaches need to teach their kids that you can't allow yourself to be baited into a brawl from words said to you. This was disgraceful and will shine a bad light on both schools for a while.

I believe we can get at least two td's up on the board, maybe a third, but we will not kick field goals, we'll go for it every time. Knowing wos's kicker has quite the boot I bet they'll kick field goals if they can't punch it in from the red zone. My prediction is 20 - 13 coldspring. I wonder if wos believes in it's defense enough to go for the td in the redzone instead of just leaving with some points?    I ask this because our defense stiffens in the red zone, but you never know, this may be a moot question if they just score on the first three downs every time. Lord knows we miss about 3 opportunities every game to come away with some points, though.
Great question. Seems like the redzone has been our nemesis all year long. For some reason, we have had problems punching it in. Even from the 2 at times. I.e. Nederland, Friendswood, and Giddings. Giddings was the worst. I believe we were in the redzone 6 times. And inside the 10 yard line each time. Seems CS has had similar problems. The more we talk about this game, the more it looks like teams that could change uniforms and not notice a difference.
Most of their redzone problems early on was because of penalties that kept backing them up. They haven't really had redzone issues since district really.

Who have you shut out this year?
We havent shut out many opponets because we didnt scrimmage and play 2a schools or weak 3A schools in the pre district schedule we played 4A playoff  teams like Vidor 4A 3rd round team we beat them. Nederland 4A 3rd round team we lost by 1 Friendswood 4A playoff team we lost by one in 2Ot's trust me we are battle tested if Coldsprings played that schedule they wouldnt have made it out alive
Did WOS shut out Orangefield? NO. CS did. Did WOS shut out Bridge City? NO. CS did. Did WOS shut out Cleveland? NO. CS did.
You might have shut these teams out, but Wo-s will shut you up come Friday. I love it how people think our defense is overrated. Defense have never been a problem for Wo-s and this year is no different.
No one is over looking other players on CS team, but Wo-s will dare you to use them. That's what CS better be focused on in practice. How are we going to utilize our other players because the running game alone isn't going to do it. Who will CS focus on? Wo-s have many weapons and they use them all often. They are a balanced team.

I think Coldsprings Gilbert is the only kid that can run with these guys.. And last but not least the best player on west oranges team was deemed ineligible before the season even started and that had alot to do with there early losses he was a special player.. But my predication is WO-S 17- Coldsprings 10
I just have to laugh out loud when I here people talk about thier team having multiple kids running 4.4s and lower at the high school level. It's kinda like when you hear a kid throws 90 mph in baseball then you show up and they are topping out at 85. For some reason people feel the need to boost thier players abilities. Really 9 kids that run 4.4s idt there is a team in the nfl or college that has 9 guys that run 4.4s.
How many state championships in track does WO-S have??  come on man if it were any other school id be right there with you calling bs but hey everybody knows these kids can flat out fly and of course all these 40 times are hand timed but even thats flying.
Never said yall wernt fast but 9 kids that run 4.4 40s is ridiculous. I don't think you realize how fast 4.4 really is.
Dacrlos Renfro 5'10 175 (starting Corner) 4.3 forty, Quienton Tezeno 5'10 165 (starting corner) 4.3 forty, Justin Thomas 5'9 165 cornerback committ for utah 4.3 forty he's ineligible, Colin Janice 5'11 170 ( starting rover) 4.4 forty, Artevin Mcdonald 5'9 165,(part time starter at Safety) 4.4 forty, Tawan Lucas 5'10 170 (starting safety) 4.4 forty, Britton Lindsey 5'5 165 (starting running back) 4.4 forty Travon Blanchard 6'3 185 (starting rover) , 4.4 forty.. now when i say 4.3 those times range from 4.30-4.39 i dont mean they all run 4.3 flats and the same goes for the 4.4 fortys.. Daniel Woodson 5'11 215 (starting linebacker) high 4.5 and the same goes for Joe Lynch other starting linebacker 5'10 190
According to scout.com Justin Thomas runs a 4.5 that is the only one I could find online I already knew what renfro ran.
Did scout.com time them? I don't think so. These guys do run these times and Justin was the fastest of them all. They have kids on the freshman and Jv teams that can run these times. I don't know why people are trying to dispute if they have this many players that can run a 4.4 40. They didn't win three state championships in track and field by mistake. Justin won the 200 meters two years in a row and came in second as a freshman. These guys can fly and the pads don't slow them down much.
 7.
I know WOS will mostly focus on Gilbert but they need to realize that there is also another good which is Monroe as well. They cannot focus on Gilbert only. They will have to work and stop both of them. Just my two cent.
They are going to focus on the running game period. Any team that expects to beat Wo-s will have to pass as well as they run. They may bend a few times on defense and give up a couple of long runs, but once they figure out your tendencies in the running game, they will shut it down, just as they have done with most running teams this year.
 8.
I am not the author of this question but I am going to ask it.  Would WOS be here at this point if Hooks was still head coach?
I can't believe anyone would ask this question. I do agree coach Thompson has played a major roll in the success of this team, but he hasn't been the only one. There have been many great coaches that has come through here. Although Hooks wasn't the big X's and O's guy and drew up plays, one thing he did well is get the best coaches in here to coach these players. That's not always easy to do. He was a great motivator too. This team would be exactly where they are now, they would even probably be undefeated because he was going to make sure the offense that these kids are good at and comfortable with running, was going to be ran from day one. This isn't a shot at Thompson because although I was critical about his choice of offense because I knew that it would only slow down this fast team(which was our strength). He wasn't so stubborn that he didn't change it although he knew it wasn't working. Hooks was a great coach, this team wouldn't have the success that it had without him. Sometimes you scratched your head with some of the things that he did, but you knew he was going to put the best product on the field on Friday nights.
 9. The Wo-s kicker is very strong. He can boot it into the endzone and he can consistently make long field goals. It's been a long time since we've had a kicker like this here. We would usually have to go for two point conversions in previous years. Coldspring will have a lot of trouble keeping up point wise if they have trouble making extra points and from I've seen this year, they have to go for two a lot.

I just got home from the game and WO-S is a very good team. I think Defence is their stong side of the ball. They stay at home and their D line can get off of blocks well. LBs fly around and hit everything. Offence has a shifty little rb that can make guys miss. They have good receivers who can make plays too. But their qb doesnt make very good decisions with the ball sometimes. I think this game will come down to the final possession. Its gonna be a war. Good luck to all the boys. That being said 20-14 Coldspring.
fair assessment...
Thanks. Are yall going to have yalls other speedster back by Friday? Whats his name?
renfro... i hope
Yes, Renfro will be back.
 11. That's all I was trying to say months ago. You have to do what your team is strong at and comfortable with and then slowly implement your new schemes in. I have to give him credit for realizing that, accepting that and his team is better because of it.
 12.
thats a terrible time! A 2 oclock game that is probably 3 hours away? And i am just a person who thinks football shoud be payed under lights i guess lol
I don't think this is set in stone yet. I know Coach T wants it on Saturday because of the holidays and I heard the Woodlands mentioned.
 13. I know the game is Saturday at 2:00. Don't know the place yet.

Many people wanted to make all the games. You guys should come and see those games...these kids can really play.
What time are those games?
I know that the senior Mustangs play at 7. The junior team, more than likely will be at 5. When I get confirmation,I will post the times.
 15. To see the Mustangs play in Baytown at 1 and then to Lamar to see the Little Mustangs bring home the superbowl.
