1.
I didn't start this thread to have to explain the non-rivalry with Vidor again. Honestly, how many years has Vidor been significant? I'm not saying that to knock them, but come on. Yes, the past couple of years the Vidor game has been big for Nederland because they stood in the way of our District Crown. But, we've had a string of years where it was that way with Ozen and Central too. With MCM it's a year round deal not just in hs sports. It trickles down to youth sports, office wars, you name it. It stands the test of time and is extremely relevant even if neither team is. My point being, the Vidor game will continue to be a big game for Nederland as long as they stay relevant. But if they revert back to being the doormat of the district, then it won't matter much to Ned. I have a feeling the same cant be said for Vidor...
I agree with a lot of what you posted, but I don't think the doormat days are returning to Vidor anytime soon.  Let's not forget that that doormat was a semi-permanent fixture in Nederland before Neumann arrived.
 2.
i seen a few PNG fans at the game in vidor last night so yes they were missing from PNG . :-[
Sounds like Honor - Pride - Tradition doesn't apply to down seasons.
 3. I thought justification #1 was "beating" Nederland in a scrimmage?
 4. Our program has turned the corner and I do see us in the same status as Nederland. The only reason there is a "rivalry" is because we have so much respect for your program and want to emulate it. Now, Nederland needs to heal up and clean Livingston's clock.
this in bold ^^^^
Vidor's freshman group is pretty salty as well.  They should be pretty good for the foreseeable future.

 7. Warren has been a great story so far, but Newton should beat them pretty convincingly.

The Clear Brook game was a good win for y'all, but CB is not Angleton in terms of offense and explosiveness.  And while Crosby and GCM weren't great teams they did have some speed and offensive playmakers.  Top to bottom, Vidor hasn't seen that yet.  I think objectively Nederland has the better defense and that should be the difference in the game.  Vidor's style of play on offense will throw in some wrinkles, but Nederland's D has already shown the ability to stop or contain the run on teams with bigger lines and with more speed in the backfield than Vidor has.  I think Nederland wins by 10, but if Ned turns over the ball like last night I wouldn't be surprised to see Vidor win.
Last week ya'll were saying those two teams was no challenge for you, now you try to build them up to make you look good. ha.. ;)
What part of the 'not great teams' line did you not understand?  My point is not that they were stud teams, but that they are better than what Vidor has played top to bottom.  Dayton should handle both of them fairly easily. I guess you are one of the Dayton posters holding on to the win the scrimmage argument from a few weeks ago.
11.
you know, too bad Ned and Vidor will likely go seperate divisions for the playoffs. I so much wanted to see them play eachother again last year for the region.
I think we can hug on this one and agree.  Should be a great game and I would love to see a Vidor / Nederland match up for the regional championship.
Nice try ND, but I went to Nederland, still live there and have kids in school now.  No PNG fan here.
But, I think this will be a heck of a game.  The winner will have the inside track in the district, but both of these teams should be playing deep into November and possibly beyond.  With that said, I think Nederland is the better team and should win.
so your saying our boys only executed their play assignments because they were playing a sub-par team. notice i said how they performed. they did their jobs accordingly, it didn't matter who they were playing. i also find it interesting how when we started asking about Clear Brook, no one really new anything other than they went to OT with LaPort and played a very close game the following week. Alot said we were finally playing someone and would maybe lose. Now that we won, all of a sudden Clear Brook is a nobody and Vidor doesn't stand a chance against Nederland.
Ahh, it's the return or resurfacing of the longstanding Vidor inferiority complex.  Come on, you moved up in weight class last year, it's time to get the chip off your shoulder.  I clearly said CB was a good win, but Santa Fe and BC weren't necessarily juggernauts.  Nederland has played better teams so far.  That may or may not make a difference in two weeks.  Vidor has executed so far and hats off to them, but you have not played murderer's row.  I think almost everyone on here has said Vidor could win this game so buck up and quit feeling sorry for yourself
Dove is pretty confident that all of those Houston schools run a clean and integrity-laden program.
I'm just saying its too late. Dallas area was still out of control. Houston schools are going by the rules. Kid tried to transfer and play last year at Yates. They did not let him play varsity, so he went back to his original school.
So, he DID transfer Yates for Basketball purposes, right? I thought these kids were transferring to Yates bc it is a Magnet School for academics? ???
And Yates abided by the transfer rules!!!!!
Probably because there were at least 5 players better than him.
 19.
You know, I try to do the math and see who Nederville added that makes them so much better than us from last year...y'all beat us on a fourth and 18 in your stadium. This year, it's in Vidor where the last time you played there, you lost. Hmmm. I really would like that 10 points in a wager...any takers??? I'm easy to find.
I think Nederland is better offensively than they were last year and the strength of Nederland's defense (the D-line) has the potential to disrupt what Vidor does well offensively (run the ball).  Plus, I'll give the coaching edge to Nederland. I'd be willing to bet a Jody Leigh's buffet on it.
 20. Rankings don't mean much, but I think Nederland proved they belong in the discussion with teams that could have very deep runs in the playoffs.  An 8 point loss on the road to the #3 team is probably a pretty good barometer of what they are capable of, barring injuries and turnovers.
 21. I hate to say it, but I think it is going to be a long 7 weeks during district for the Injuns.  (Except for LCM and Lumberton).  I think they can sneak in a win or two somewhere else, but I think the playoffs probably aren't happening for PNG this year.

 23. This must sadden you greatly given the way you stroke Yates on this site constantly.
