Silsbee has a good chance... I believe central has a decent chance... Maybe even Nederland!? Idk but I really like Kountze's chance
What size do you need? You just said the 'N' word and State - Bluedove is probably about to go into overdrive about Nederland not playing real basketball, and so on and so forth...
Almost in stroke mode after putting Nederland in the same breath mentioning State!!! If Nederland gets first in district, I'll wear someone's Nederland shirt to the playoff game in Montagne Center

They would both have to end up in the championship game...which at this point remains a possibility. In regards to your question I will have to plead the 5th.
Good answer.
4. Who wins if the Ned Freshmen and JV end up playing each other in this tournament?  Not trying to stir the pot, just asking.
5. I'm not even sure why they are playing this game.  Everyone knows that Dayton should get a bye into the second round since they won the scrimmage back in August. ;)
6. I agree with you on the talent coming up, but Duplant is a real difference maker.  Either way this should be a pretty good season for the Dogs.
7. If Duplant is back Ned should be pretty good.
8.
Duplant and Feltman are back.  They look ready to make another run at the district title.
I thought Feltman moved?
9. I predict that the subs for Nederland will get a lot of playing time and experience.
10.
Sorry, just looking out for my Indians
Pretty classy to call out a sophomore like that.  By the way, in the event it happens, thank you for documenting on this forum that it would be a move for athletic purposes.
11.
Yes I'll be the homer If vidor plays mistake free football I think they have a better chance than most people think.
At least you admitted to being a homer first. I guess slightly better than zero is still technically a chance.
12. Not quite sure what  to make of that last comment, but ok.  I will say that in 2-3 year it could very well be Nederland's turn to take a few on the chin.  PNG's freshman group is loaded.  If that happens there will be several Ned faithful that won't be near as Gung Ho as they are now.
13. Fascinating.  Even when accepting that this just isn't your year, the arrogance and sense of superiority comes oozing through based on what could occur if you were only winning.  I guess the irony and duplicity of that totally escaped you.  I would agree with you on one point, this year wasn't very fun.  MCM is definitely better when both teams are competitive and relevant.
14. It's less about any statements about fair weather fans and more about your constant chest beating and cheer leading about the superiority and relative beatification of your fan base.  Bottom line is your fans are fickle in the down years - just like every other school.
15. Bama Kid: After sifting through your 'War and Peace' like post, I have an answer to your question: You.
16.
difference between yall's side and nederland's side is Nederland doesn't claim to be the "greatest fan base in all of texas." Ned doesn't go around "tooting there own horn" with words like tradition and honor and such. Typical that when yall get caught with half empty stands you have to point the finger at the other side and say "well they aren't any better than us." Nice.  8)
Great post.  I couldn't have put it any better. The only reason this even gets brought up is because a vocal contingent of the PNG faithful beat the drum about supporting their team come thick or thin and boast about decades old attendance records.  Every team has frontrunning, fair weather fans and PNG is no different.  Most fan bases will acknowledge that, but some on that side of Mid County believe they are above that happening at their school.
17. Honor - Pride - Tradition (at least when they are winning)
18. Ahh, good to know the inferiority complex across the river is alive and well.
19.
I doubt this game will be a blowout. It will probably be like most of the other ones. Nederland's problem right now offensively is not their personnel. Its the play-calling. It's been atrocious the last couple of games. Maybe Neumann and Barrow don't want to show their hand this early knowing they are basically a play-off lock and they are ok with just winning games without scoring 50+ points. I dont know, but run right, run middle and run left get a little old. Especially when LC-M has 8 guys in the box. We do not stretch the field enough early on to open up the run game. This almost bit Nederland tonight. They let a lesser talented team stick around and stick around until the 4th. Even then, it was the defense that put it away. If Barrow opens up the playbook a little and stretches the field early, it may be a long night for the injuns. If not, look for a slugfest until Nederland puts it away, again in the 4th. Nederland - 31 PNG - 24
Ladies and Gentlemen, now playing the role of armchair coach and negative-Nederland-naysayer, it's GoDogs27! He replaces Smitty after a solid 3-4 year run of regularly calling for the defensive coordinator's job. Please give a round of applause for GD27 and wish him well in his new role.
20. I think part of the problem with the receivers is that they are all plenty short.
21. PNG's best option at QB now is the freshman.  That kid can flat out play and is pretty developed for his age.  I would be shocked if he isn't starting for the next 3 years so get him experience now while you're down. As far as the overall talent, y'all won't be down for long.  Your 8th and 9th grade groups are loaded, despite what anyone says about STJFL (which I am still trying to process and understand how that relates to 4A varsity football.)
22. I don't think either team sent 22 choir boys out there to play last Friday.  It was a bad play, but it's time to move on.
23.
Lions have to develop depth on defense, i got Livingston in a shootout next week. NED will not stop Collins so they had better be rested IMO  ;)
Is this a legit pick or just pot stirrin'?
