With all due respect to Coach Haynes, this sure looks like a placeholder-type hire.  Bring in an older, respected guy to right the ship and upgrade things a bit and then try to attract someone in two or three years that will hopefully be a long-term solution.  I'm not criticizing, and that may be what the situation called for, but that is how this looks from the outside.

[/quote] Takes one to know one, big guy.  Your old  coach obviously liked you and you should be proud of that, but I just dont think I would be pointing to that and saying scoreboard the way you did.  By the way, those were your words, not mine.  Just like they were your words talking about Martel and how he didn't listen to you or run his program the way you think he should have.  Not to mention the numerous times you have piled on since he left.  Finally, if I turned it around 360 degrees it would be exactly what you posted and meant.

[/quote] I can see what you are saying about the kids suffering, but their parents are making the choice for them not to have those opportunities, not the school district and community.  It just kind of irritates me that these schools aren't good enough for their kids to attend, but they demand the "right" to have the name of the inadequate school on the front of their jerseys.  Something about that just doesn't sit right with me. Not to mention the opportunities for recruiting, grade fraud and outright cheating that this opens the door to.  I can just see this is being a way to get around transfer, attendance and grade requirements for some kids and programs.  This is a bad, bad idea.

I'm shocked that the superior athletes at HJ aren't doing any better than they have this season.  Must be the coaching, or the umps, or Texas Leaguers, or OF's coach, or something, and on and on...  It certainly can't be that other teams are just better.  Not in HJ.  Not according to their parents.

What's happened to HJ?  I thought with Duplant and some of their returners that they were going to be pretty tough this year.  Sounds like the wheels are falling off a little bit.

With HJ's superior talent, no way that they lose.  Especially if they hire a coach that will come in and listen to the ex-youth football coaches in town and put the kids in the positions where they belong.  Silsbee, you're screwed this year.
