U make it sound like the bobcats lost the game already. Show pride In ur team like this, WHOEVER POSTED THAT WE WE'RE GOING TO LOSE 63 TO 0 U HAVE ANOTHER THING COMING BUDDY. ORANGEFIELD IS NOT COMING TO GET ROLLED OVER WE COMING TO FIGHT AND PULL OUT A VIC AGAINST WOS WE ARE NOT SCARED BY ANY MEANS STAMP IT!!!!

Never said that brother, just said we'll have to play the perfect game to win. And I'm all about PRIDE my friend, I bleed Orange and I never miss a game. Don't take me being a realist for having lack of Pride, sometimes the other team is just better.

A 4 to 5 play offense wont win games. WOS has to much speed for a team to run this type of offense. I also hate this offense. I see it being 21-0 at half... then WOS will turn it on and win 63-0.

63-0 well I don't see that happening, but I'm realistic guys and know we have to play a perfect game, control the clock, and score touchdowns when we have the opportunity, and hope WOS plays poorly. Do I see that happening, no but that's why you play the games right. Come on guys everyone that knows football knows this is a David versus Goliath type game and our chances of winning are slim, but this will be a great test for our young team. They've grown up every week and have gotten better through out the year. After LCM put it on us all you heard was how bad Orangefield must be, well that wasn't such a bad loss after all, and that was also our first game of the year after missing 3 games due to Harvey. Last week we held a pretty good HJ offense to 12 points, and our offense did just enough to win the game.

These kids work hard and play hard, and I know a lot of people hate our style of offense, but it fits our kids perfectly. We don't have the athlete's and numbers to run the spread or any type of exotic offense. We don't have the speed, so we try to run right at people behind our big offensive line and control the clock. Sorry that's boring but that's us!!!

Comments like 63-0 come off as a slap in the face to our kids, coaches, and our program, and I just get tired of hearing all of that. I believe most of WOS fans respect us and don't get on here and bash our kids that way. And I'm pretty sure Cornell feels the same way and respects our program and our coaches enough to not run the score up even if he could. Let's just hope both teams come out injury free and make a run in the playoffs.

  3. Congrats to LCM, played well and has some talent in key positions. Good luck this year!!!

My Cats will get better, I was really excited for the season after our first scrimmage, but that's the last time we actually lined up against anyone. The scrimmage with Splendora was cut short due to weather so not playing the first 3 weeks of the season showed. We basically started over this past week. Poor kids were gassed after the 2nd drive of the game. At least we have 2 more games to use to get into game shape before district starts. We also play a lot of sophmores, 6-8 saw a lot of action last week and that was their first taste of Friday night football.

Future is bright, small senior class and a lot of young kids will get valuable playing time this year, but we'll get better.

  4. CONTROLLED PART

    SPLENDORA 1ST TEAM 1

    ORANGEFIELD  0

    SPLENDORA 2ND TEAM 0

    ORANGEFIELD  1

    PLAYED A LIVE HALF

    SPLENDORA 13

    ORANGEFIELD 7

I really thought Orangefield controlled the scrimmage, score doesn't show it but if it wasn't for a couple of big plays they probably don't score. In the controlled part, Splendora took the first play and went like 65 yards and had first and goal, scored 2 plays later. Didn't do much after that. Orangefield put together a nice drive, got inside the 20 but turned the ball over on downs. Splendora 2nd team struggled, and didn't score. Orangefield's 2nd team scored once and was driving but ran out of plays.

In the live part, Splendora once again broke off a big run on the first play getting inside the Orangefield 15 yard line. Orangefield's defense forced a few negative plays and Splendora tried a pass into the endzone on 4th down that was batted away. Orangefield then went on a 80 yard drive in probably 10-12 plays with Blake Bradley scoring from 10 yards out, extra point was good.

On Splendora's next possession, Orangefield once again had forced a few negative plays and Splendora faced a 3rd and 15. Splendora's qb threw a hail mary type pass into triple coverage that was actually batted down by an Orangefield defender but a Splendora receiver trailing the play caught it in stride before it hit the ground and went untouched into the endzone. It was a wild play and something I had never seen before live in a game. Extra point was good tied at 7.

Then the monsoon hit, they kept playing, it was hard to even see the players on the field from the stands. Orangefield got one first down and then fumbled the ball and it was picked up by Splendora and returned to the 1 yard line, 2 plays later they scored, extra point missed, 13-7.

Orangefield got the ball back with around 2 minutes left, drove to around midfield but ran out of time. We don't throw the ball at all, but couldn't have thrown in that weather if we had wanted too.

Overall, Splendora has some big boys, but I really think they'll struggle in that tough district this year. I said that last year after we scrimmaged them and they played well, but I don't believe this team is as good. Orangefield will be fine, we're extremely young, have 8-10 sophmores on varsity that will play and play a lot. But we held our own yesterday against a team that probably had over 50 kids dressed out to our 30.

  8. Now that the game is over and the dust has settled, I wanna congratulate Bellville on their win against my Bobcats this past Saturday night. Very well coached and disciplined team. I was impressed with your kids and the respect they showed our kids during and after the game. Wasn't any trash talking, just two teams getting after each other and then kneeling and praying together after the game. That really stuck with me, you just don't see that much anymore, so it was a pleasant surprise.

Hats off to my Bobcats. We're definitely not the most talented team, but we play with so much heart and pride that we make up it a lot of times. But heart and pride can only carry you so much and sometimes you just play better teams and that's what happen Saturday night. We also have so many kids going both ways, we kinda ran out of gas in the fourth and it showed as Bellville scored 21 points. We did put a little scare in them when we took a 21-17 lead late in the 3rd, but they responded like good teams do.

Haven't seen Salado play, but I would think Bellville will win this game. And hopefully that will set up a rematch with WOS in New Caney the next week.
