As much as I have been against roc for his entire career I will say this.  I am sick and tired of every coach for the last 20 years feeling like they have to come in and win immediately. We need someone to come in and BUILD our program. Yes I said build because all we have is a foundation right now.  That foundation consists of a University with the resources to compete in the conference they reside in and that is it.  The reason I bring all of this up is I would like to see someone be a coach at Lamar for 7 or 8 years and put a strategy in place and see it out.  I feel like roc felt the need to win immediately which is why many jucos were brought in.  I don't think that is the answer at this level of basketball.  I think roc is getting fired and I am not against him being fired.  With that said if he does stay we all need to be prepared to support him and it would be interesting to see if that another year would change anything.

I just got word from a source inside LU that says he is gone.

[/quote] If you already knew the answer then you should know how good of a program they have.  3 state tournaments in the last 13 years and 2 state championships.  That is better record than HJ or Silsbee so watch out before you make any statements about Mexia.  Hot air  ;D

Lamar interviewed Del Harris as well and turned him down.  Who knows if Tim Floyd would have been succesful here.  We have had like 6 or 7 coaches since then none of which have been successful.  One of them being Billy Tubbs who is a hall of famer. All of you guys want a proven head coach???  Mike Deane was as proven of a head coach that we could ever get and he failed.  I want us to try another young and up and comer who has ties to the state of Texas or is a product of a really good recruiter.  Roc did not work and I must admit I thought he would.  With that said I want to try someone of his breed again.  I hear an assistant at K-State is interested as well.  Hell..........who knows!!!!!!!!!

If LU doesn't go after Rodney Terry they are absolutely crazy!

The idea of Abatemarco is a total joke.  Also, you guys can go ahead and forget about LU paying someone $200k.  Not happening.  They will have to pay roc next year so that would be 300k plus for head coaching salaries for next year.  NOT HAPPENING!!!!!!  Rodney Terry or Alvin Brooks will be our next head coach.  Mark it down.

This news is not that "breaking."

I for one never said THE top team in the area.  I said A top team in the area.  That is what dogs1218 said.  Fact of the matter is they have been A top team in the area.  It is not HJ's fault that besides silsbee and wos that the district is fairly weak.  HJ played the entire pre season without a HUGE piece to their puzzle in Greyson Sutherland.  Many argued all year long whether he made that big of a difference or not.  The last 3 games have proven that he makes a HUMONGOUS difference.  HJ is a top team in this area and has been all year.

One thing you don't have to worry about HJ doing is sleeping on anyone.  They may very well get beat but it won't be because they were not prepared and felt challenged.

[/quote][/quote] Dogs1218 did not just say we would lose to silsbee or cleveland.  He said we were not any good and that silsbee would mop the floor with us.  He also stated that HJ was not even a top team in the area.   I as well would love to see nederaland win.  I have never made a bad post one about Nederland.  That is the difference between the two of us.  He saw HJ play ONE TIME this year without 2 key players and began making stupid statements about HJ and how inferior of a team they are.  He did it repeatedly and I am enjoying the heck out of telling him he is wrong.  Sue me!!!! AAW..........I figured you would roll your eyes.

An old quote or two from genius Dogs1218 If they were a top team in the are, then they would win those games, but they didnt.. They went through district beating all the teams they were suppose to beat, which is why they lost to Silsbee twice.. Now they are playing a team that I think is too much for them to handle, so I see HJ losing here, unlike the history that is always brought up about the HJ and Cleveland.. Now Nash, if HJ loses, will you get off my back? Because that will mean that I was correct, despite the criticism, about HJ losing to Silsbee twice,... and not beating Cleveland in the playoffs,... and HJ not playing Silsbee more than 2 times... I think you now understand why I bring that "no history" issue up [/quote] There are many of the people for HJ(4 of the 5 starters were on last years team and 3 of which were starters last year) and Cleveland has basically the same team minus a few.  So it would have a lot to do with it. Again I don't believe you are the one to tell people HOW to come to their decision on predictions.  Remember you are making a prediction based on information from a scoreboard.  You have not seen cleveland all year so I wouldn't be giving advice on how to make a prediction when you are making a guess at best!

I am not making any predictions but yet love that all the predictions made are going Cleveland's way.  As they have the past two years.  I am not sure how this game will end but I know that HJ will play very hard. Good luck tonight guys!
