Jasper needs stability and experience.  McGallion is a no brainer.

Either place he ends up will be great for Shawn!!!  This kid will work hard and improve!

I am not shocked by this decision.  In my opinion not smart at all.  A degree from the University of Texas and another year of improving and playing in the spotlight is the way he should have gone.  I hope he makes it for his families sake but I am afraid this wasn't the right decision. Time will tell.  Good luck J'Covan!

I agree with you.  However by saying the real games implies that the other ones are not.  That bothers me obviously.  I understand that central and ozen are not brought up.  But I brought them up because you and dove are fans of theirs and I was simply making a point.  If you think that is "real" basketball than so are the 1a and 2a state tournament games.

You are not getting my point.  What I am saying is some of these 1a and 2a teams could give those two a game if not beat them.  So if the 1a 2a teams that can compete with mighty ozen and central than that must not be "real" basketball either!

It is so funny to see you guys say this.  There are other people in this world.  Remember Shaquille O'Neal played on one of those teams that wasn't playing "real" basketball.  So did Joseph Jones.  Alot of these teams that are not playing "real" basketball could give central and ozen games.

absolutely he will be. His mother is 6'2 and was one of HJ's best volleyball players ever.  He should mature a ton over the summer!

I think LaVega doesn't look near as impressive as HJ or Silsbee because of the way they play the game.  It is very disciplined and not flashy.  However, they play smart and GREAT defense.  I give them a good chance to win state.  It is not pretty but they know how to win.

I love the knocks on Nederland from two ozen guys and one of whom is a Hamshire descendant.  Hilarious!  How many district championships have those two combined for over the last couple years? ::)

Different coaches have different personalities.  I prefer for a coach to get excited hug his players, coaches and family.  The dancing stuff bothers me.  Does it mean it is wrong........no.  Just not what I would want to participate in or my children to participate in.

[/quote] After the 3Balls being poured in against HJ these last two games this won't be an issue for them.  I watched La Vega about 3 weeks ago and I did not think they shot the ball particularly well at all.  They are big and fast and defend well.  They are good and this game could go either way.
