1. Dang tailgate crashers!  Hope they had some soft food for the guy! :D
2.
wasnt vidor in another district then playing ned 1st rd in playoffs at lamar, or  sometime back then . a 6 team district i thought
Vidor, Livingston, Ozen, Jasper, Silsbee and Lumberton were in a different  4A district then.  Vidor did play Ned. at Lamar in playoffs.
3. Lots of factors in play, but talented players is usually what makes the ultimate difference in a team year to year.
4.
Vidor did lose alot of SR's from last year.
Lost a ton of talent from last year's team to graduation, 4 returning starters from '09.  People should realize that this is a rebuilding, not "reloading" year.
5. Pre-district scheduling is not always easy.  More times than not you have to take what you can get and you can't always schedule in your classification. Remember for every team playing "down" another team is playing "up".
6. As I've said before, Lumberton should not be underestimated, but then neither should Central.
7. It wasn't  long ago that Vidor used the swinging gate on a regular basis.
8. WOS WOS K'Ville *too close to call K'Ville *turnovers, PAT's, (or lack of)  & big plays will probably decide this one.  Not to slight BC at all, they are a good team and will make the playoffs this year and they have the skill sets to give both WOS and K'ville a good game,  the other two's speed will pose a problem for the Cards.
9.
kville aint losing all that much!  haywood and Ervine will be back
How about the QB?
10.

vidor interception.   want me to go ahead an remove it just in case?  LOL
no..ha! but would like for the Pirates to make it a little more respectable!
May have to wait for next year at Pirate Stadium for that!
11. Vidor's defense is young, (2 returning starters), and small .  Couldn't contain BC last week and will likely struggle again tonight.
12. Good point about talent being the great equalizer over numbers.  Just because you have 40 some odd players suited up doesn't mean they'll all play.
13. Lately a few have been pretty obnoxious as they were grinding their axes.
14.
Vidor is so unpredictable, they could shock Kirbyville, but not this year.
Next year will likely find the roles reversed as far as experience and returning starters go.  That's one of the things about two year scheduling in predistrict,  there's always that chance to redeem a first year loss.
15. Why worry about the score being run up,  remember, a tough predistrict schedule only helps a team...right?
16.
well everyone knows the slot t is a run first system and, it works when you have the right personal to run it. Last year Vidor had the perfect personal for the slot t. This year Vidor does not have the size for the system and they will get pushed around most of the year. If you watch most teams that have a solid program they run a system to fit there personal. The option system that Vidor did for so many years would not be a bad system for the team you dont have to block the down lineman the qb reads the tackle then the end. All i know is dont expect much out of the Pirates this year and by the way did anyone else see the nose tackle for Vidor maybe 140 soaking wet. I bet png and all the other teams in district are licking there chops seeing that
Yeah, Vidor's nose tackle is the smallest varsity player at that position,(or any defensive/offensive line position), that I have ever seen, I estimated his weight to be 135-140 also.
17. Evidently there are some fans, BC and Vidor, that don't realize that the Slot T offense that Vidor runs is first and foremost a run oriented offense.  Throwing the ball is not going to happen more than a very few times a game.  It is a ball control type offense and is not conducive to playing catchup when the other team opens a two or more score lead. It helps when your defense can keep the other team's offense off the field and can come up with a few 3 and outs. Vidor would have had to basically change offensive philosophy mid-game and that usually doesn't work so well.  You saw the results, one completion, two ints. including the late pick six.  (Although the first int. was an ill conceived halfback pass and was not thrown by the QB). Would a more balanced, but still run-oriented attack work better?,  I think it definitely would and I would be surprised if the coaches don't work on the passing game a little more. However, don't look for the spread to be instituted at Vidor. Finally, last night, it wasn't the offense that was the problem, I believe it had almost 300 yards.  You have to be able to stop the other team and get your offense the ball.
18. Arsenio Hall plays for the Dragons?  Gee I thought his eligibility would have been used up. :D
19. Livingston opened up with a nice win over Jasper, but evidently Jasper has some issues at this point in the season.
20.
Looks good for 20-4A so far  ;D
Just 7 and 7 so far with Ozen up for the tiebreaker.
21. OK, I see that the defense needs lots of work and some of those guys are really small.
