1. You never know, the operator may be a bit rusty since this is just the second home game. :D
2. I think that anyone who overlooks Central does so at their own risk.  The Jags seem to always be in the top 3 in district and regardless of coaching changes are always competitive and a threat to beat any other 20-4A team.
3. I hope the Pirates are ready to play, Ozen is fast and will cause problems for the defense.  They cannot afford to  make the same mistakes against the Panthers as they did against Lumberton.
4. Nederland defense will have to really improve to slow Livingston,  they struggled with Vidor's Slot-T offense and the Lions version is better this year.  I don't think they they can trade scores with them, but 'Dogs passing attack may very well keep them close and in the game. Playing on the road at Livingston is another factor. this game's outcome will answer a lot of questions about both teams playoff chances.
5. 10-0 has a tendency to spoil fans, each year is different.  If PNG can fix their defense, they will be all right.
6. I learned a long time ago not to count on what great things kids do in jr.hi., 9th and JV games to always carry over to varsity and playing under the Friday night lights.  PNG's JV was undefeated last year and Vidor's JV was 9-1.  Combined varsity record halfway through the season:  2-8.
7. Don't count any of the 0-1 teams out of the playoff picture.  However, I believe you can count Livingston in.  LCM and Central were also impressive in their wins.
8. This game is a tossup, edge could go to Lumberton playing at home.  Hard to tell about the Pirates, seems like improvement was made, most notably on defense, but maybe Nederland was just not as strong as K'ville and BC. Should be an entertaining game.
9. Just heard on the Lamar game broadcast that he has passed of a heart attack.  :'(
10. If you can run the ball effectively, you can win.  See Livingston last night and UCLA today.
11.
GO PIRATES!!!! Sure wish we were playin' at the BONEYARD!!!
Played at Lumberton the past 2 years now.  Need our homefield advantage.
12.
I heard that the spirit chain in Vidor raised $1100.00
that is correct.
13.
Is this what we can expect in years where our talent level is about the same as Vidor?
Probably so, and believe me you guys would not want to play K'ville or Bridge City this year.
14. I really think the coaches were wanting the QB to spike the ball.  Remember Dozier was out for that series after getting banged up on the TD QB sneak.  I think the backup qb just misunderstood what they wanted him to do. Defensive front had very little inside penetration on pass plays, Forney had lots of time to throw, looked like they were more concerned that he might run and were trying to contain at the line of scrimmage.
15. Well, before the Lumberton/LCM game, I would have thought that PNG/LCM would definitely be a shootout, now I'm not so sure.  LCM was racking up lots of points in predistrict but also giving up a lot, now they pitch a shutout over Lumberton.  If they wind up with a defense to match that offense, they will roll though district until they play Livingston, then that one may be a shootout.
16. Always a good thing to have a little talent.
17. Livingston seems to always be capable of putting up lots of yards.  They have the right personnel to run their offense.
18. Sounds like Livingston is still running the slot T offense.  Hard to stop with big linemen and fast running backs.
19. After watching the Vidor/Nederland game, PNG should take this one handily.
20.
Each 20-4A game and its importance: Ozen vs Central - Rivalry, but also find out which team is real. Both have played the best Non-District schedrul in the distirct now its time to play teams our size, lets see how they fare aginst each other Lum vs Lcm - Both teams come in hot 3-0, someone will come out in a loss. This game will show to me, if LCM is the real deal like I hear, or was their non-district not games not as strong. P.N.G vs Livingston - P.N.G also played a hard Non-District, so Dont go by their record, Livingston comeing in 3-0 but still no one is takeing them serious..But I for one know even though most of you are counting them out, they can still win this week..From when they snapped our winning streak last yr wen we were ranked #16 in the state. Dont underestimate.. Nederland vs Vidor - Lot of Problems in Big Ned and Vidor, both teams comeing off not so good Non District games ,But Ned getting their Star QB back should help out. A win here can give one of these teams the confidence they may need.
Very good analysis of this week in 20-4A
21.
Let me start by adding my sympathy to and prayers for Reggie's family and friends.  There are no words that can properly console you, but please look on the words stated above to add to what you already know, that is how special a person Reggie was and how many lives he touched on and off of the playing field.  Know that the prayers of not only Southeast Texas, but the entire state, nation and world are with you today. I pray for Reggie's teammates who lost a leader on of the field, and a friend off of it.  As a result of what happened last night, they will have to grow up a lot faster than we dreamed.....and much faster than we desired.  May they find the strength to come to terms with their loss.  We need to watch over them. I pray for the parents of Reggie's teammates and friends, folks like venom, who at this difficult time must guide their children through this mental mine field.  They will have to struggle with the questions that they hoped never to have to answer, mainly because life has taught them that there is no answer to many of them.  May God grant you the strength and wisdom to guide them. I pray for my friends in Orange and my fellow graduates of West Orange-Stark grieve with them.  Even though it has been almost 20 years since I have called West Orange home, to this day I still proudly proclaim it as my hometown and West Orange-Stark as my alma mater.  We share a common bond, and today, a common loss.  Let us go out and help the community that nurtured us heal so that they may nurture others. I pray for the teachers and staff at West Orange-Stark.  Particularly, Coach Dan Hooks and his staff.  This is a man who in almost 30 years as head coach and athletic director has faced big challenges before.  But his biggest challenge yet awaits him as he must come to terms with what has occurred and at the same time assist 60-70 young men in doing the same.  May God grant him and the entire staff within the West Orange-Cove CISD to do so.   We have read about these types of stories before occurring in other communities, but you never dream that people will be reading about it happening in yours.  Which leads me, as one of the many members of Mustang Nation, to thank you for your heart felt wishes to our community, particularly to my buddy Mike.  But do not pity us as we have faced adversity before, both natural and economic, and have prospered in spite of it.  And these young men, with their fallen friend never far from their thoughts will be back....returning with renewed strength and newfound purpose. Again, thank you Todd Broussard West Orange-Stark Class of 1986 Great Post Todd.  I believe that after the tragedy last night, many SET high school football fans will forever watch the games with a different perspective.  It may not be so much about the final score, but about the young men playing the game and their efforts on the field, win or lose.  Last night was a reminder of the fragility of life  and that we can't take one single day for granted. As a parent, I can't imagine the pain that Reggie's family must feel. Heartfelt condolences to the family, teammates, coaching staff and the whole WOS community.
