1. '60's players soldiered on in an era when water during practice was deemed "bad" for you.  In '66 you might get a Dixie cup/pointed paper cup full of powdered GatorAde mix 1/2 way thru practice, and the games, no matter who you played, were always easier than  Monday/Tuesday practices.
2. Is this game just a one year deal or is it a two year home and home series with the two teams meeting again in 2011?
3. I know, I'm not a big fan of consolidation anyway.  rivalries and history are swept aside.
4. Yes it would.  Was just curious about what if would take for consolidation to happen.  Personally I like the way it is now with the 2 teams.  It would be something if enough people moved out of Little Cypress or didn't move in due to increased Orange city taxes and the two schools eventually wound up in the same district.
5. that's not a lot of kids for a town the size of Orange, but the number seems right.
6. At current enrollment levels would a consolidated district be a high 4A or low 5A school?  I'm thinking along the 4A line, but i don't know LCM's numbers.
7.

What has your friend told you and is he close to the team?
Some people on here know who I am and will give me some flack if I put up what everyone is talking about.  ::) I'll PM you.
I'd like to hear the scuttlebutt too if you have time for a PM.
8. Kind of off topic, but was wondering what the WOS enrollment is now and how close are they to 2A cutoff? I know it seems unlikely now, but do you 'Stang fans think there is a chance down the road that LCM and WOS might consolidate?  What would it take for this to happen, (when pigs fly and hell freezes over don't count. :D)
9.
Is it me, or does it seem that DC bases his rankings alot on how the teams finished the year before? Not taking anything away from Central, just sayin.....
Mostly based on what's coming back and previous year's record factored in.
10. Good post incognito.  We'll have a better idea of how they'll do after playing #19 ranked Texas High the first game.
11. With all the weird plot twists on TV now, I wouldn't be surprised if he showed up at the door in some later episode.
12. Supposed to run for one more year after this one.  Wish it was more.
13. Sad episode for Saracen.  But on the bright side....Lila's back!
14. Like Spoonbill said, Vidor JV was 9-1 last year, losing to PNG in a shootout.
15.
:D Dont think the asst. Coach knew he was in a Gay bar.
I think you're right or else he probably would have been more receptive to Julie's statement of silence.  The guy certainly doesn't appear to be sharpest knife in the drawer.
16. Just by the nature of the question, this is a very subjective and opinion oriented thread.  With the notable exception of the Smith brothers and Gaspard, most all the names that I recognize were offensive skill position players.
17. Haven't heard if she'll be back or not, we can always hope though.  Smash has got a good yards per carry ratio going, almost 5 yards a touch.
18. I'm never going huntin' with Saracen again!  Guy shoots at anything that moves. ;)
19. 1964 3A State Semifinals:  Vidor vs San Marcos Rattlers, tie game 21-21, late in the 4th quarter, Pirates miss a field goal on 4th down from the 21 1/2 instead of trying to advance the ball inside the 20. Rattlers advance to state championship game on penetrations, 5-4.  Vidor led substantially in the next 2 tie breakers, first downs and total yards.  Still don't think the coaches realized that making that yard and a half would have won the game. :(
20.
No dog in this one but Vidor graduated 33 seniors and 10 return from the varsity roster that does not have 1 single soph/fresh on it so the Pirates return w/less than 2/3 of the entire team to add to last years JV.With the success recently @ Kirbyville I'd give the edge to the Wildcats.
Good point on grad. losses/returning lettermen.  It looks like a rebuilding year for the Pirates coming up, but in 2011 they could again be a playoff contender.
21. Yeah, and super booster McCoy is even more unlikeable.  Mike Leach cameo appearance was pretty neat, obviously made before he got canned at TT, but he'd better try to find a coaching job somewhere, don't think acting is his strong point. And what about the kid forced to transfer from the Panthers to East?  Is his attitude too good to be true or what?
22. I heard that since Vidor lost it's entire line and backfield, that the Pirates are just going to play a JV schedule this year.   Could this also be true?    :D
23.
have heard nothing about the Lions, Raiders or Pirates.  ???
that's because they are not expected to be playoff teams this year.  But IMO May is a little early to count a team out.
24. Hot Shot Panther QB 1 has turned into a real ass, wish they would have let Saracen, (aka Pizza Man), finish kicking his butt at the party.
