My question would be why in the hell is Porter basically having a home game versus PAM in the first round , it's a 1hr almost 2hr drive from P.A to Porter , a good portion of people won't make the trip because half ( myself included ) don't get off until  5 , 5:30 , smh

Sounds like the coaches tossed for it and PA lost. It happens. The Titans should move on, so hopefully you can catch the rounds after that.

  2. I just don't think Crosby's QB play is consistent enough. Manny is an INCREDIBLE athlete, but limits them some in the passing game. That being said, I don't think I would have started the soph early in the year either, knowing Manny's running ability. Too late to make that change now, I'd assume. But, I thought they marched with the soph back there.

No truth in that part of your question. When you had a superintendent (Kurk) who was BFF with the Hancocks at the time the position came available... Well I will let you figure that one out...

You're definitely wrong on that one. No knock on anyone, but Coach Stewart ran the athletic department. Period

I know you just moved back but you'll see Dayton's jv records are often better than their varsity ones. You son and his teammates should enjoy the winning while they can. Dayton has a lot of good kids now but they're still 2-5, they're going to have less next year and it's going to get even tougher as they lose enrollment to the top teams in the district. Hard to see the offense and defense both worse than last year and think there's some player development going on. Good luck to Dayton too, after tomorrow of course.

Just picking on one part here, since you've mentioned it several times now. Are you saying we're losing the enrollment race so to speak, or losing actual players to other teams in the district? Just curious.

As far as player/depth development goes, when there hasn't been been a big focus on that in a couple decades, I assume it's going to take more than 8 months to start seeing some real fruit there. We'll see though.

  5. btw... Porter had 19 rushes for a net of 8 yards on friday I believe. I haven't seen  official stats for BH, but i believe they rushed for less than 100 yards. Both teams were held far below their yearly averages as well. I think those things are worth mentioning and are good signs. The fact of the matter is, we aren't facing all run heavy teams anymore. Show me a team that shuts down a legitimate passing game and I'll show you a team that has a huge athletic advantage.

Porter honestly reminded of the old Friendswood shootouts, where 3 or 4 deep balls decided the game for us. those were stewart coached teams.

It wasn't his fault he should of never been put in that situation there are plenty of SR's waiting their turn. He cost the team 21 points thats what happens when you play daddy ball with the play-offs and a 22 year post season streak on the line ( inexcusable call by his daddy  coach to let him play safety) Not to mention letting the kicker start when he misses practices and did not show up for Bh game he cost the team 4 points which of least would of put us in overtime. The fans and players of Dayton deserve better.

Can't speak to practices, because i dont go. But, the kicker was sick during the BH game. #14 was lighting it up on jv before the BH game and we needed some help on defense. Plus, not every deep ball was to his side. The kid that was getting beat at safety early in the year, had a great game at receiver vs Porter. Seems to me, the staff is trying find a winning formula. Lots of those seniors came back to play this year, but have been away from the game for a year or two. which one would you have put out there?

There's definitely multiple ways to look at things.

I'm as sad as almost anyone that the streak is over, but it's 20 years and not 22... but who's counting.

The discipline thing used to be be brought up a lot in reference to Memorial, Central, or Ozen.  So I called people out on it, only for most to backpedal or crab walk away from the question or topic.  It gathered me and yes, in a sense, it can be viewed as a form of a knock on a certain race of people.  I was hoping that at first thought I was wrong, so I brought it up a long time ago, again, to not get an answers or an adequate reply...

i get it. I noticed that as well, (maybe because you pointed it out) and stopped using it.

How did the jv receivers look???

i didn't catch the jv game. only stayed til about 9:00 left in the 4th... my 2 year old is a handful. So, Nail might have thrown more after that. We seem to have a lot more depth all over, and most seemed to get ample reps tonight. I'm with liltex, just a good feeling at the stadium tonight from the concessions to the coaches. Excited for what's to come for the Broncos.

  9. It's not outlandish to me to think that coaches in our district might have went to see some of BH's spring game. Any time a school with the kind of hard working kids and coaches that BH historically has, makes major changes, I think it'd be smart to get a look at them whenever possible. With the understanding  that they're keeping things simple of course.

Noticed on the website that Ron Wilson will be the OC at Dayton next year I love the sound of that!

He was OC last year... i believe he's moving on from coaching, but will still teach. He deserves tons of credit for Dayton's success in building a winning program, from his time at the jr high.
