Just watched the video.  Hardin kid slid into 1st as the ball got there, got by or away from 1st baseman, 1st baseman started running in the direction of the missed ball I'm assuming.. as the base runner was getting up to run to 2nd, they ran into each other and got tangled up it looked like.  Not sure if the contact was intentional or not.. looked coincidental.  In the fray, baserunner struggled to get off of the 1st baseman.. but may have thought the contact was intentional..  so he pushed the 1st baseman while trying to get up.  After that, the 2nd baseman ran in and grabbed the baserunner around the waist to prevent him from running.
No punches were thrown.  Benches definitely cleared.. but Hardin's entire team was in the dugout.  

I'm sure there was jawing the whole game, seems like there is every time they play one another.  

Correct. Suspensions were dealt out accordingly by Coach Hillin. The situation has been handled and is over with.

Brookeland brings back 8 of 9.     All five starters return.

I will say that if Miller is 1st team, then Sells is the first selection for 2nd team.

What a gutty gutty performance by Payia and United. Down their leader Dotson and then Green fouling out, ended up just too tall a task to get the win.
Great 4 year run for BU and Coach Green.

Incredible run by this senior class, and so unlucky to have to finish that run without Dotson.  BU showed incredible heart tonight, and gave Stony Point all they wanted and more.  I’m confident in saying had Kayde been healthy we’d be watching BU in another state final.  Either way, United has everything to be proud of, and nothing to hang their head about.  

They have had some meetings in public.  But they would Never want dads, moms, and pawpaws bringing video and flow charts to show why little johnny should get an award. 
the coaches bring stats and score books to the meeting.  They put up numbers for who they want for each award.  It's not back woods politicking.    
Ask your head coach who they thought should win those awards,  

If that is the case my son should have been MVP last year cause he was face guarded just about full court by the best defender every district game except for the games against Kountze and still averaged 20+ points. But it is not the case. Perrault benefited from this as well as being the best athlete on our team last year. Sells is a phenomenal ball player who deserves the mvp. At worst if you believe in the co mvp stuff he would be that. If anything it is preparing him for college because that’s all they do is tight man coverage. 

@Cu Chulainn I believe my sentence started with Ghost is a good player, come on man no need to get so worked up. 
 
I do think you miss the fact that people tend to poke at you a little bit with some of your outlandish takes and bizarre behavior. 

Let's make one thing perfectly clear. I have no vote, just an opinion. Like everyone. I honestly don't have any real issues with the all district teams. 
I also don't think it's a "travesty" when it comes to all district selections. They are what they are. Much bigger things in life to be concerned about.
People just can't take these type things personally. It's not worth getting worked up about.

I am confused why an arbitrary individual award that is non-monetary is such a big deal to you.  Everyone now thinks they should be recognized for every little thing they do.  How bout these kids just go play the game and have fun and not need constant reinforcement and ego boosting?  I promise they won't get that when they go to work.
Why do you believe the votes have gone differently than you believe they should?

@AggiesAreWe I know you watched these guys play multiple games and I’m curious your opinion on the matter… as previously stated I to agree Wrinkle may have more of a claim over ghost as far as district MVP. 

While I think the Ghost is a good player, I believe the Wrinkle kid has more of a claim to the MVP based on the 3 games I saw the Bobcats play this year. The Sells Kid is more than deserving as well. Regardless I think the superlatives were correct in the district and I saw almost every team in the district at least once. 
 
 

The votes are counted.  And you have to be nominated for each award and have enough votes.   Sells most certainly deserved MVP, offense and defense side of the ball .   Scales most certainly deserved O MVP.  Can score anywhere on the court.   And from not making playoffs to where they landed Joubert did an awesome job.   
    Can’t wait till next season 

This was a great season for the Lions. They are still young for a team making it to the regional finals. Congratulations to em on an excellent season!!

Fouls were about even.  And refs were not bad but did miss calls on both sides.  It came down to holding Scales to 7 points.  

I know where you are coming from and it’s correct. But the Kountze “physicality” and the Diboll “physicality” weren’t the same. Kountze were being hit with alot of touch fouls, which is part of it, some refs call tight especially with the hands. However, if you have seen Diboll and their style of play this year, they are big and athletic and play that bully ball on offense. The lower your shoulder, put your head down and run the ball down your throat type offense last night. In my opinion, and judging by the foul count, one team got to play their game yesterday and one team was restricted to the amount of pressure they could apply.

A win is a win… especially in the playoffs

The goal of almost every team Ever,  is to limit the touches of the opponents best shooter.  Defense stepped up after going down 0-10.   All teams grab shirts , shorts what ever they can.  They frustrate the player with the ball.  Everyone thinks Scales is a phenomenal athlete.  But frustrating him is the goal.  Just like teams try to limit Sells.   Refs call how they call,  Joubert preaches to his players , play the game and let him worry about the Ref.  An 18-2 run is Not the refs.   When you have been guarded the entire game , denied the ball and having to run around the gym all night ,  you also get tired.  Makes you miss shots later.  Legs are dead in the 4th.   Good luck in the playoffs and get ready for more of the same defense .  Hitchcock was there watching both teams.   Whitmire has done a good job and will be ready.
