1.
Goose Creek has no vision. They should have gone to one school back when they had the chance.  They went to three schools and now they are losing students like nobody's business at Lee. Lee may be down to a 3A school before long. They were ore concerned, in this everyone gets a trophy society, in having 3 valedictorians, 3 salutatorians, 3 drum majors, 3 starting quarterbacks, so on and so forth, than they were about having any sort of community pride. All three schools are pretty well mediocre to poor in every sport and in every academic standard you could come up with. So, no...I don't think they will combine Lee and Sterling.  If anything, they will build another high school so they can have 4 valedictorians, 4 salutatorians....
Panama, Baytown missed a great opportunity to go to a one school system when Lee burned (late 80's I believe). Then they missed it again when they added Memorial and further diluted the talent pool with 3 high schools. I firmly believe this is the end of Lee (as a Lee grad I hate this). They need to go to a 9th/10th campus and 11th/12th campus. It is the only way they will be competitive across the board.
 2.

I think a lot has to do with tackling form. As much as we love the big hit & what it can do physically as much as mentally.. if we see less kids try to get the big hit and wrap up, the defense would see less broken tackles and players would suffer less concussions. [glow=red,2,300](Not forgetting that head contact with the newer turf leads to more concussions than contact natural grass)[/glow]
Could you show me that study?  I have been on some grass fields that are harder than concrete.
Dement Field, where North Shore and GP used to play, was like concrete with grass growing thru it.
 3. Not sure if this is the right forum but a nice story in today's world. [Hidden Content]
 4. Kenneth Hll was before 56.......earlier 50's I think
Great minds think alike.  ;) Sorry I missed you last week at BH/Brenham game 1....got in crisis mode at work. I will be at Thursday and Friday night games @ Langham Creek. You ?
I am not sure yet.....I am heading to Longview for meetings on Thursday and not sure when they will end. I will let you know on Thursday
 6. Or could it be the other way around.......UT owns ESPN?
 7. I am not arguing coach.....I tend to agree with you. My brother and uncle were coaches......I know the time demands and all the extras that go with it
 8.
From a different perspective.  What happened to the days when the sportswriters went to and covered the games?  The next day the box score was in the paper and a fine write up was done about the outcome.  Those were the good ole days.  The excuse is going to be not enough reporters.  Sounds like a newspaper problem to me. The new age answer is to have the coach call in the game.  The coach has done his job which includes, bus duty at 7, facutly meeting at 7:30, taught 8 math classes and an athletic period, graded and recroded two hundred daily grades and tests, had two parent confrences, reviewed the scouting report, drove the bus to the game safely, coached his team to victory, drove the team home safely, monitored the locker room, recorded the statistics, waited for the kids to be picked up, locked up the school, returned the bus to the lot,  and is in hurry to get home to catch a glimpse of his/her family prior to bedtime. That lazy SOB! The reporter that needs the scoop to "do his job" should be proactive and go to work at this point.  Call and ask the coach about the game.  If the game is not covered in the paper and the reporter did not even attempt to call and get the scoop that he needed to do his job, I ask the question, who got their job done on this day?  The game was played, but there is no newspaper article. Analogy:  If a parent did not pick up a player from the school at midnight following the game, is it ok for the coach just to do nothing and leave him there alone?  Or do you think he might be proactive and make a phone call or even drive him home in order to succesfully complete his job on this day?
In older days I would agree but these days how many head coaches actually teach a class or 2 much less 8. I never see a head coach drive a bus anymore either.....except in the other sports (golf, tennis etc...)
 9. Who won? I am asking because I heard Tennessee lost their orange and white game.......lol
 10. Dang right on the 4 day work week.....love making money on Friday sitting at home. As for the poll, it could be a rough year for BH and most I know can see it coming.
 11. If I were the coach, I would be real tempted to go with Leggett in game 2 against Stegent and if Game 3 happens throw Thames. If it goes 3 I believe the pitching favors BH. Leggett looked really good in the 7th.
 12. Just got back home. I am not sure why Brenham did not go with their ace tonight. Brenham was extremely sloppy in the field tonight. Long was flirting with disaster all night but seemed to get the play he needed every time. Should be a very good one tomorrow night. BrenhamFan, enjoyed the dinner before the game
 13. Starting to get close........almost leaving time here at the office
 14. In the 60's, 70's and 80's I would agree with the Cowboy's mystique with kids.......not these days. The stadium I hear is very nice but I agree with the central location of Alamodome.
 15.
Game day it is !!!!!!!!!!! Special shout out to all of the seniors....cherish every moment. Game day also for D1 universities has they begin their last conference series tonight thru Saturday ! Everyone drive safely and enjoy what should be a great weekend of baseball around the country. Go Barbers Hill Eagles ! Go Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks ! Hook Em Horns !
You forgot.......God Bless Texas Safe Travels to everyone. BH folks, traffic on I-10 west bound will be brutal from the I-45 area out to Katy.....leave early and join Eagle07, BrenhamFan and myself for a mini tailgate at Good Ole Boys 26403 Katy Freeway. I will get there around 5pm. I believe it is the same exit as the baseball field off of I-10
 16. I believe that is it.......can't recall the 4th. Bubba Hill was an incredible athlete

P.S. Dayton sucked then too.
Smoking trippy drugs? LOL, that's what it would take for me to move to BH, it's not NYC, contrary to popular belief.
Hell no it isn't NYC.........it is much better than that........more like........Utopia
i didnt know utopia smelled bad and was located next to a refinery. You should have moved to channelview I guess its utopia too. There was a time bh was that place which you speak of but oh my how its changing. I mean 30 yrs ago kids in that area knew how to hunt now when bh boys go hunting they get lost and have search parties sent out for them. I bet you would be hard pressed to find one person that lives at the hill that enjoys an episode of duck dynasty.
LOL.....I think there are a few.....the demographics are alot different than when I was a kid. We lived in Thicket when my oldest graduated from West Hardin and camo should have been the school colors
