  1. I will say this, it appears that on the Shepherd ISD website they are looking for 5-6 coaches for next year. Some Middle School and Some High School. That also may play a roll in what he decides to do. This will be the second or third year in a row that they replace numerous coaches. I know why Benbow left, but have no clue on the others.

  2. Yes I live in one of those towns and my son played. But I  I can tell you that Coldspring's, kid for kid had more talent. Did it show up on the field, well no it didn't. Now remember you said talent. Was Shepherd a way better coached team and looked to be way stronger than Coldspring. That answer is yes. Coldspring got out coached by far two years ago. Coldspring kids quit when Shepherd didn't lay down and take a loss. I lay that blame on the coaches. I was their and seen it. Coldspring had kids on the sidelines that were way better than some that was on the field but did not play them. I agree that the well is running dry in Shepherd. That wasn't my comment. My comment was on talent and how it did not translate to the field for Coldspring. At the same time Coldspring has dropped down in a classification and still hasn't produced. So I cannot say it's  a better job. Smaller Class with same results. I think he needs to go to a bigger school and win, if you are going to move for almost the same money, it isn't worth it. Go somewhere you can make a lot more money and have way better players.

Miles is a heck of a good guy and is smart enough to make the right decision for him and his family. I will be happy for him in which ever decision he makes.

There is no doubt that Trevor Moye was a stud and deserves everything he gets. I think two years ago it was the Wright kid that torched Coldspring. Again it took the entire team both years to beat Coldspring, yes it does help have a kid like Trevor but it took them all. Oh and for one other thing, all the Sr. (and there were a lot of them) were all from Shepherd and in Jr. High did not win a game. Hell back them Tarkington was the stud team.

  3. There was always more talent in Coldspring, that's not anything new. Was that supposed to be breaking news? You can have all the talent in the world but when you let outside interference in then it doesn't matter how much talent you have. No discipline gets you nothing. Barbay was a good coach that kept "all that talent" in line, but the community in Coldspring got weak. The only difference the last couple of years was Good coaching in Shepherd with kids that would work their butts off, they never had more talent, they just believed in the coaches and worked. Mommy and Daddy stayed out of it. OH and Shepherd beat Coldpspring the last couple of years with only One Moye kid. Yes he was a stud but it took the entire team.

  4. I don't really know if Miles would, The fine folks from Coldspring let the last Supt. and Board run off a coach that won a ton of games. Just cause he is a hometown boy doesn't mean that same thing won't happen to him. He is a great guy but he is also a smart man. Maybe he will Maybe he won't.

  5. Both guys in Shepherd are great coaches. But there are a few more there that do just great of a job. Shepherd has put together a very, very good coaching staff. Trust me those guys know what's going on in Coldspring and Cleveland both.

I had a whole bunch wrote up for both schools but it's not worth getting into, just say sometimes you get what you deserve.  Don't blame a Supt. and School board when you as the community voted them in.

We will do everything we can to keep both coaches in Shepherd. The community is very happy with them both.

Agree. Especially at the smaller schools that only have one or two guys who can really pitch. Were seeing a lot of "throwers" in these tournaments.

I agree, For the teams that have a deep pitching staff, well they should be in the thick of things anyway, but for the teams that don't have much pitching. The games are very boring and hard to watch. We are seeing a lot of throwers also.

I don't think so. IMO, any coach that throws a kid over 110 pitches in one tournament should not have a job.

that is not what I was saying. I agree that a coach should not throw a kid that much, I wouldn't even want my son to throw 110 this early in the season. But for some teams if is coming into play.

    Hardin 9
    Tarkington 5

Hardin wins the Tournament and is 4-0

Hardin is a very salty team, got a few boys that swing it well. As I think everyone knows that don't have pitching depth, the pitching rule are coming into play big time in the tournaments.

OK so I am not one to ever post on these sites but I really feel like I should say something since it seems you have a very strong opinion of HJ. Here we go First off "devour HJ" wow this coming from the person who talked so much smack about HJ saying we did not have the athletes or could not compete with Liberty because they were on a different level as well as that barnyard offense we ran did not stand a chance. Well guess what we beat Liberty fair and square the game was a battle and that night the better team came out with a Victory. With no surprise you disappeared from that thread after the game. No Congrats to HJ or game well played. Instead some Liberty fans used excuses about the TVE fair going on. I would like to say that I am proud to Support the Hawks they have great athletes and lots of talent. They play with heart and integrity and tons of respect. I am very proud to say my son represents the Hawks he is led by some of the BEST coaches around that take pride in the Great program they have grown in just a few short years. The parents also take pride in their boys and school. We try and support all teams! These are High school boys and these years are supposed to be awesome for them. The negativity does not affect them it just makes them HUNGRY! I was really surprised about the lack of respect that some of the Liberty players showed by taunting the fans of the opposing team and the show boating. Go back and watch any game film from any HJ game and you will see that those boys are very HUMBLE and RESPECTFUL win or lose!! We are not worried about meeting Liberty there are many great teams in the playoffs we face to get to that game. With that being said our focus is on Shepherd this week and if we are the Victors tonight we will focus on that opponent next week. Do not count your chickens before they hatch!! Good luck to all the Teams that have made it this far.  And a Special GOOD LUCK to the HAWKS tonight! DYJ# WE ARE HJ!!!!

I wouldn't get to worked up that setxnative96. He has different views as to how this will all play out. Give him a break it has been a long time since they have had a team this good.

The vast, vast majority of WOS fans (and the program in general) exhibit nothing but class.  This is the case even rising above nonsense (which was the case with one game of theirs I saw this year).  Every single fan base of every single team has at least one or two knuckleheads.  No one should paint any team or school or its fans with a broad brush based upon the words or actions of a few.

I agree with you guys, That is why I directed this toward him. As I said in my post, there are some really good WOS fan that win with class. Hey I understand Shepherd has their fair share of the knuckleheads also. I was just trying to make him understand that why some people are starting to hate on WOS cause of his insane posts. Hey I hope you guys win it all, I will support all teams from SETX or East TX for that matter. I just have a problem with people putting down a team because they are not in the same league as them.

I'll no problem saying the same thing to ur face and anybody else who has something to say about it I only fear God homeboy

Oh Lord, here we go. Sometimes all I can do is shake my head and hope that someday you will get it. I will not get into a war of words as to who is the toughest homeboy. lol (that was really funny, Homeboy). If you choose to keep talking like a classless fan, then by all means go ahead. OH and before you say it, I know you don't care what nobody thinks about you. So have a good day.

This will be a good game. I like the match-up one of the better Bi-District games which will be played.  I see HJ pulling away in the 4th quarter making a key defensive stop.

    HJ 27

    Shepherd 24

We can always count on our counter parts from the north-side to have our backs. lol.

Finally someone who gets me!!! The winner between Caldwell and Robinson will be next they play today

And I didn't even have to say anything else for my point to be made. Dude everyone has the peaches behind a keyboard. We all know that WOS is good and should win STATE. The problem is there is a way to go about it or not. Win with class and loose with class. Don't get on here a show your ***!!! Like I have said some WOS fans are very respectful and don't try and shove how good they are down everyone's through. Then there are posters like you that makes folks hate on WOS! All I am trying to get you to see is to win with class.
