Take this to the bank - Coach Taylor from Anahuac will be the man.  Just bought a house that direction and he is ready to make it happen in West Hardin.

Since it is all you see on ESPN - I thought we should have it here on setxsports - Tiger is warming up for his second round.  Just keeping everybody informed.

They need to go after the d-line coach at Anahuac - Taylor I think is his name.  Relates great to kids, hard worker, could turn it around.  Need to give him some time to do it and allow him to do it his way, but could be done.

so, what is the latest on this situation?  lets face it, it would not be cleveland without drama.  that place cannot go a year without something getting headlines.

Anybody know who some of the confirmed speakers are now that college football season is over?

Watch - A relative unknown will get the Barbers Hill job.  Maybe someone with a spouse in the district or some sort of connection.  Seems like the "big" names do not want it and they will go with someone that is not seen as in the hunt and then if that does not work they will get a chance to hire the big name to reshape the program.

Other then just a tremendous rivalry situation - why would a 3a team want to play a 2a team anyway.  What is in it for them?  If they win they are suposed to win - if they lose all anybody says is that they lost to a 2a team (and yes there are plenty of 2a teams out there that can beat a 3a team), but there is nothing in it for the 3a team.

Hear that Andy Evans from Tatum is next in line.  He has been there two of the past three days.

Please list the dates of any track meets that you know of.

EC will be just fine.  The fans need to relax some - All they do is scream from the get go.  The players will respond and the coaches will get them going.  All wil be ok.

Tried to get something started a couple of years ago, but little interest shown.  Thought I would try again.  Would like to know about any interest in the area among coaches to have a evening clinic rotating at different schools on an every other week basis maybe.  Have one lecture on offense and one on defense - each about 45 minutes long.  Basically just share some thoughts and some good football talk.  You can send me a message if interested.

First, you would probably need to define what you call success. Do you mean made deep playoff runs, averaged so many points per game or what.  I saw Barbers Hill play and not sure I would call the zone read successful, but it had its moments and that is the case with every team that runs it without so called athletes.

Holy Smokes - Get input from the local sports association about what they want in a high school coach.  Do they want to make sure the local sports association can run that type of offense/defense.  I am all for dotting the i's and crossing the t's, but really - the sports association and tifi - whatever that is.  Do you win state championships in pop warner?  Ones that count that is.  Come on BH - post your requirements and go out and watch the coaches you narrow it down to at their respective school, look at their record, talk to coaches in the district they are in now and in the past and lets make a decision based on what that person has done for the programs he has been a part of - not the sports associations.

When are going to post the requirements for this job?  Must be waiting until the season is over completely.  Any significant names out there?

What kind of job is this one?  Realignment year and already 4 or 5 head jobs - could be very interesting.

you are going to play your 7th and 8th grade - wow. i guess that seems about right considering the great recruiting, i mean move-ins hardin has had. who is going to be watching anyway.

There is no doubt that the visitor stands are pitiful. That is just plain sad. The home stands are very nice (as they should be), but something has to be done about the visitor stands. It has to be an eye sore for the district.

I have worked for and been a part of some very successful teams and I have to say I have never heard an AD/Hd FB coach tell an athlete to go straight football, but I have heard both basketball and baseball coaches tell a kid they should go straight basketball or baseball. Unfortunately the comment made is you are more likely to get injured in football and then you will be out for the year. So, if basketball or baseball was the first sport of the year it would be ok. Just let the kids play - injuries happen just like bad things happen in life - what are you going to do sit around and not compete in life either b/c something bad might happen. As for working out - there is no way you can get stronger working two days a week as opposed to three. Just will not happen. Now true enough you do need to give the body a certain amount of time to rejuvenate itself from time to time, change the percentages and lifts, work all the bodies muscles not just the core lifts - use explosive lifts, olympic lifts, free weights, machines, etc. but there is just no way you can honestly say you get stronger lifting only two days a week. Do you have improvement - sure you do. You could get improvement by only lifting one day if done properly, but you do not gain as much strength. With all that said, bottom line you have to believe in your method and get after it full bore. Now, can we go back to the original topic - who is going to get this job?

biggen - nice job of getting the thread back on topic. you other guys all have your opinions about workouts - 10,000 ways to skin a cat. just encourage kids to play all sports.

by the way hw did we get to that topic on a thread about the orangefield job? this could be a good job. great support, kids work their tails off and play extremely hard, they act right (from what i have seen). the biggest issue here is getting quality assistants hired. cannot do it by yourself.
