1. I am looking forward to seeing this series and hope the Jacks can pull it out!!!!!
 2. Huge 47-yd Kyle McBride TD run to give Broncos another score!
 3. WOWZA!!!! 96-yd TD pass on 3rd and 35 from their own 4 by the boys in PURPLE!! 21-13
 4. Dolemite what is going on my man?  how did Taylor look?
 5.
I notice that the article does not say he was hired as HC/AD. Question 1:  Is that actually the case? Question 2:  In these times where teachers, programs and sports look to be cut all over the state, where did the Wharton ISD find the money to hire a AD who does not coach?
IU also thought that to myself and I will try and answer that question Monday.
 6.
Wow! No Keith Gilmore! I guess H-D coaches did not participate? I feel like that is part of their job. Keith Gilmore may have been the best player in the District.
That young man was fun to watch!
 7.
Not so much as a qb but as an overall football prospect, I could def. see Merka in the top 5. He'll have a good college career IMO.
We will have heard no more for Merka by end of 2nd yr before he fades into a roster.
Well I guess you'll be covering Angleton a few times when they play the Ricebirds in district 23-4A.
Absolutely and looking forward to coming out to Ricebird Country. The district is sound and I am stoked to be back in the game. The magazine thing was a bomb and I don't even want to go there, but looking forward to getting out there. I seem to come around places just on the heels of Vanover's departure. Took over in Diboll a number of year's back when he went to Angleton, lol!

Because once you go east you got a handful of prospect better. Merka TCU? interest from LSU/A&M
Merka wouldn't beat any of these prospects out of the top 5!!! I can think of several BEAUMONT AREA QB's that I saw last year that were better than Merka and I don't think I am alone with that assesment.
Agreed totally! The two best QBs to the east (errr West) last season were at 3A schools anyhow, DeBerry and the up and coming gioant youngster Fitzwater in Liberty.

 11.
Well, I recall that Coach Foreman indicated that last year it was simply problems in communication between the Dayton staff and the Coach's Association. Perhaps with Coach Stewart stepping down it was merely communication problem again.
Yeah I am sure that is it! :)
 12.
Congrats to all the players ;D     No Dayton players ??? Oh yeah Dayton never has any talent ;)
It appears DIBOLL took Dayton's place, very fitting for a class act program to get that spot as I dont recall them from last year.??
 13.
I got a feeling that the new coach was in place when Coach Stewart stepped down. He does not seem like the type that would not have a plan in place.
I am sure, but you still go through the motions. As for knocking on Coach Wood, come see me and knock on him!
