  1. I am glad to se that this has quieted down since nobody knows.  When I hear it from an administrator at Jasper I will believe it.
  2. Kerry, Why did you post it was offered earlier if now you are saying it was not?  If that is the case and you got that started you are not being professional about your being an administrator of this site.  That is what gets people worked up and why administrators at schools do not want anything about their schools to get out b/c it gets blown out of proportion and people pass along negative information.  This entire thing if it is not true has damaged Jasper's name as being a place anybody would want to be at.
  3. lots of successful head coaches were not first on the list initially, so to pull your name is not a good idea.  this is entire ordeal is giving Jasper a black eye and I can promise you Chris Coleman does not like that.  If it was offered and the guy did not accept it on the spot Coleman should take if off the table and I would not be surprised if he did just that.  Coleman is about everything being first class and this is not illustrating that at all.
  4. Kerry - what you have been "told" and what I have been "told" are two different things.  Especially about the top 3.  If you have started this to try to get the hair on the back of peoples neck raised I think you have done it.  I can promise you that if this goes to anybody other then the Dangerfield then some calls will be made b/c people are not telling the truth.
  5. Bickham probably did apply for it - keeps him somewhat close to home and he still would be a head coach. Mr. Big could probably help him out.
  6. well, valastro's name has not been mentioned until a day or two ago.  That would be an outstanding choice though - plenty of experience, multiple state championships, first class, etc.  No real comparison between him and stowers, but i am sure that is a possibility.  still think the dangerfield coach is trying to get another raise - did this last year if memory serves. whoever gets the nod will get a call today.
  7. Not so sure about the show me money deal - and as for back to the original people listed on this post - NOPE.  A frontrunner for the job has only been mentioned on here once maybe twice and it sure was not at the beginning.
  8. saw on another site about the well running dry in dangerfield and that is why the hc was looking to leave.  anybody's well would be running dry after having 14 division 1 athletes on their team.  are you kidding me?  if they did not win there would have needed to be an investigation.  i know winning at all is difficult no matter what and three times is remarkable, but come on - 14 D-1 athletes at a 2A.  Winning was going to happen.
  9. Come on BIG - you know more then that - spit it out already. You have ins all over Jasper and you have the inside scoop - share it with us. You are the one that told me that they added two more interviews late yesterday.  One form inside and one former.
  10. Do not think bumping Coach Mixon up is the right thing.  Everybody is ready for an answer on this one and I am sure we will all know soon enough.  Heard they were interviewing one more candidate this afternoon.  Might be a couple more days.  Just messing with you all.  Had to break the tension some how.  Mr. Big you are in the know - give us some words of wisdom.
  11. is there anybody but JACK?  this will happen soon (wed) and we can move on to other things.  Of course that is after we all pick up our jaws after they make the announcement or we are all shouting at the top of our lungs.
  12. Big that is a great question b/c that could make all the difference and I mean all the difference.
  13. As for Fitzhenry - I base it on knowing him and knowing people that have worked for him.  Not what Jasper would like.  He is not in the mix anyway I am sure of that.  He might have had some winning teams and such, but he shall we say bends the rules and that is not what Jasper is all about.
  14. Fitzhenry would not be a good fit - of course he is ad where football and baseball both have been successful.  That is kind of an important thing in Jasper.  Still not sure he would be a good fit there.
  15. think the special board mtg is Wednesday. One interview to go tomorrow.
  16. not sure about backs but george taylor was probably the best lineman to come through there.  now he is the best PL coach in se tx.
  17. Have heard they had over 80 applications - they are going on 2 1/2 months now.  Need to get this going
  18. T-Daddy sounds like you have some inside knowledge.  Enlighten us please.
  19. so, you saw who was there Thursday - They interviewed on Friday too.  Do not see it being Alvarez.  Somebody that has not been mentioned and it will be an excellent hire.  Discipline will be put into place immediately.  Will be a first class program in every way.  No cussing by players or coaches.  Integrity, high morals - basically everything you would want in an AD/Hd FB coach.  Hope they make the right choice.
  20. A phone interview - really.  There is no way Jasper conducted a phone interview for a potential ad/head fb.  That just is not happening.  They probably interviewed Harbuagh via phone also.  He drove to Jasper like the others and interviewed just like the others.
  21. I would have to say I agree with you WOS.  Just do not see that happening.
  22. He is coming into his own right now.  He is feeling more comfortable and taking control.  He has a legitimate shot at playing at the next level.  Most people do not understand how football intelligent he is - not just a great athlete, but extremely intelligent about coverages, formations, plays, etc.  Wish him the best of luck and a great senior year.
  23. no doubt that this is well deserved.  not exactly sure about neuman resume, but valastro has one state championship as a hc and two or three as an assistant (oc).  both coaches will represent se tx with class.
  24. all this talk about what jasper needs - defense, discipline, position changes,e tc.  what they need is consistency in the head coach position.  a number of the sub-varsity coaches have been there for quite some time, but there has been a revolving door at the top spot.  all the people whose names have been mentioned could do a good job, but a couple of them would be part of the revolving door issue.  bottom line we will all know in a few days - i would bet it is decided almost immediately after the closing date. lets hope it is the right guy.
