1. Wow, EC seems to improve weekly. I didn't expect this, but congrats to the Bucs!
2. Last night Tarkington's freshmen/JV were beating Splendora's JV 16-0 in 1st Q when game was called for weather. You're not gonna believe this, but these boys are undefeated in district play, and so is the 8th grade team. Is the drought over?
3. Fear is the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering.
Oh please Yoda, fear was not the problem; turnovers were.  LOL.
4. I'm going with Liberty too, thinking that they took Splendora for granted and so were not as prepared as they should have been.  I don't think they'll do that against Cleveland.  Cleveland just hasn't shown that they have turned the corner, and that's too bad because they have athletes there.  Maybe next year.
5. I've seen both teams this year.  Huffman has a good team, really as good as last year's team, but they are no match for the Coldspring machine, well-oiled, running on all pistons, strong and confident.  I've not seen a team in 3A as good in a while. I don't think CS will crush Huffman like they've done the other 22AAA teams, but they will win by 3 touchdowns or more. Good luck to both teams on a competitive game with no injuries.  I'd like to see you both go far in the playoffs.
6. The record and talent is on Splendora's side, but you never know what will happen in the Battle of the Bell game.  Maybe the Longhorns will dig deep and find the heart to win this week, but my money is on Splendora.

8. Another good match up. WOS seems to be improving weekly, but Silsbee has done well. Who's the home team?  I'm thinking that could be the difference.
9.
EC WINS OVER BUNA (3 LOSSES)  NEWTON WINS OVER ANAHAUC (3 LOSSES) BUNA WINS OVER WOODVILLE (3 LOSSES)  WHO WOULD ADVANCE AS THE THIRD PLACE TEAM?
That could happen. Good question  What are those tiebreaker rules?
10.

The only reason BH went to four A was because after katrina a bunch of new kids came from Louisiana
And they never left? BH still has 4a numbers and its 6 years later.
Don' think so bh eagle 99.  There's a lot of new subdivisions in the last 6-8 years out that way.
11. Thanks to Grad and ryker for giving us the opportunity to play this game and for keeping up with our results.  Though far from the leaders, I enjoy making picks each week.
12. Imagine if Sherman Gilbert got to play in the second half of a game?  What huge numbers he would have!  Props to CS coaching staff for letting Gilbert rest and not drilling every district team into the ground. And, as mentioned, Monroe is no slouch.
13. Do you count trash talking as whining?  Nah.  Not that much whining in this district.  This year there's three haves and three have-nots, and not much disagreement about that.
14.
Won't be a contest.  Splendora will play hard, but just not much talent there right now.  Liberty is playing for a playoff spot and has to have this one.  Beat the ones you are suppose to!  Liberty by 35!
I agree--Liberty needs to take care of business.
15. I had hoped the program at Cleveland would have gelled and be as good as they were under Tullos.  They have athletes there.  But, they cannot run with Huffman, unless Huffman comes out flat again like they did in Shepherd.  If they let Cleveland gain some confidence, it could be a ball game, but it shouldn't be.  Huffman is clearly the better team this year.
16. Game of the year in 22AAA!  I do think Huffman will score on CS, but it won't be close.  I hope both teams come out healthy and ready to represent the district in post-season.
17.

The real question - Does it really matters who wins this game?
It matters to the kids and coaches who work thier butts off every week.
Well said FF.
18.
You can control the game 2nd / 3rd string / play calling but any kid on da field should be expected to go 100%. I have seen alot of injuries when kids are half steppin cause of a big lead.
Well-said
19. Mr Ump got it right!  Ya can't ask second stringers not to play their best, but you can ask them to take a knee when there is less than a minute to play and you're 30 points ahead.
