I understand Houston ISD kids can go to any HISD school and still play sports. If true, is that because it's the same district?

Cleveland will win when they want to...seems to be a recurring theme there...not a lot of discipline.  That's why HJ beats them, which is too bad because they have the athletes.

Few coaches have enough clout with college coaches/scouts to get a kid into a college.  Yes, they could possibly give a bad recommendation or conversely, they can work hard to get the kid's name and video out there, but I agree that the kid and the parent has the responsibility to apply, to send tapes, to call, to visit, etc.  Just as a kid has to highlight his or her deserving qualities in an academic application, the athlete must send out links to his/her Youtube video and have the stats to back it up.

[/quote] This post doesn't make sense to me because kids don't normally improve weekly, as Liberty has, without a decent coach.  I don't know the man, so I could be way off, but logic tells me the coach is teaching the kids something.  As an interested bystander, I applaud Liberty's players and coaches for their improvement over this season.
