If it is true that DEFENSE wins’ championships, then WOS should be fine. The Mustangs are not Wharton, nor Sweeney. Cuero had the monkey on their backs because of the history of beating Narravo so many times in the past. Nobody seems to remember the Robinson team that we (WOS) faced a couple of games back, Robinson had the # 2 duel threat in Texas I believe, or maybe in the nation and WOS handled them without hesitation. We have doubters I’m not one of them. Go Mustangs, take this game.

Well Cuero didn't have a Mandel or Justin Brown. Double team Mandel and see what happens. You waste 2 blockers on one guy and opens it up for our others to plug the holes with one less blocker.

I got a gut feeling that jack dallas will have a hugs game and keep drives alive with his running and keeping Navarro on the field then the door will open wide he will freeze the corners with his SMARTNESS he showed this all year long its a GODS GIFT

WO-S fans are truly grateful for the support of other schools for this game, especially those in our own district and throughout the Golden Triangle. I have one request for these other schools - wear your team's colors and/or jackets so we can identify you. We want to thank you when you are spotted at the game. We want to pack our side of the stadium and make more noise than the Navarro side. Again, the support is much appreciated.

HJ will be there rooting on our district. I've read Navarro has speed. Well I can tell you that will be put to the test. WOS is loaded with speed. Does not always look like it on film. But in person. Well we all shake our heads some time. Js. Go Mustangs.

Navarro is good they look a like bridge city not as big but faster and the guards pull very well last year I belive the kids from wo-s ran into a high power slot t team with a mister mind of a coach in the likes of dubous and his outstanding son at qb at hj high school who put up BIG NUMBERS do you remember them HJ ave over 400yards a game hummmmmmmmm

The Navarro QB is no where near as good as the one from Sinton two years ago. That dude from Sinton could sling it or take off in a heartbeat. He was the best QB we saw in 2014. Even better than the Gilmer QB. The Navarro QB is committed to a run-oriented offense and also plays some defense. They don't throw very much, but their THREAT to throw is better than any other slot-T team we've played. They will take shots throwing downfield on occassion where all other slot-T teams just dink and dunk throws five yards past the line of scrimmage. Our secondary guys can cover them, but we have to be alert to this as part of their playbook.

skipper reacted to WOSgrad in giddings faithfull
More history than you know, Rob. Some have already talked about Fitzhenry not shaking the hands with Coach Hooks after one of those games. My little history that I would like taken care of tonight happened in 2010 when Reggie Garrett passed away. The next game on the schedule was Giddings. Of course, the Mustangs were in no state of mind to play a football game so Coach Hooks cancelled the game. The response of Fitzhenry, who yes is now gone, BUT ALSO of the Giddings community was an initial demand that West Orange-Stark play the game or accept a forfeit. That is right, the community of Giddings, coach, administration and fans, wanted to force my alma mater, my home town, to play a football game when that was the very last thing on that community's mind.
So, to the Giddings faithful who now wish to dismiss these young men as "overrated," tonight when you look across the field, take note of the signs which read "112%" and take note where the Mustangs congregate for their pregame prayer...that is right, the 12 yard line. Then a chill will rise through your spines as the realization will hit you that they have not forgotten Reggie, nor have we forgotten the disrespect you showed our community when all we wanted was a little time to grieve for our own.
And tonight, Giddings, you will pay for that disrespect.

Congrats WOS! The Mustangs defense rose to the occasion. Giddings got away with a lot of holding nevertheless, this victory was sweet.

Wake up Friday morning, make sure you are good and awake. Turn on weather channel or use one of the many sites on that thang called the internet and see what the weather may be like Friday night. Then you will know.

skipper reacted to ladybug33 in weather up date please for friday night around houston
It changes by the hour Skip, one station says 20% chance of rain on Friday, with temps around 67-57 during the day and night. Last week I remember we got some rain at the Stadium. I would bring my rain stuff and a coat.
