Good season Cougars cannot beat someone when they get to hold on absolutely every play without repercussions all night long.

this is the crew you get in the 5th round shows just how awful the crews are in Texas

Marshall should want that district so they can have some games that are actually difficult each year.

    So interesting bit to consider.
Flannigan proved the talent existed and that Crosby could be a winner. He was a disciplinarian when at Crosby and those guys tend to have a timer running until they upset someone enough to lose their jobs.
Rio was brought in by a super who had ties to Sulphur Springs.
Prieto was brought in by a super who had ties to Corpus Christi.
So I guess the real trick is hirer a new super from an underutilized coaching area and let them bring their contacts to a Houston area talent pool.
Also, to be clear Preito and Rio were coordinators when we hired them. We didn't try and go get Allens HC.

With Rio we know he's a very good coach but he also left Crosby for a school that everyone knew had a lot of talent. His coaching has always enhanced that talent his staff has also traditionally done a good job at getting kids recruited.
With Flannigan I honestly think he's developed as a coach a lot. I think when he left Crosby he was a good coach but over that last decade he has clearly learned some lessons and become a great coach. He had some trying times after leaving Crosby (the locker room camera thing.) and I think it has made him a better leader and coach. When thrown into the fire you either melt or it burns away the excess and leave the core a really good man.

Faircloth leaves no good coach is going to want the job if after going 3 rounds deep you don't get renewed with that talent pool.

Defense is doing something they've not done all year. 10 yard gaps between them and recievers at line of scrimmage. Clearly not afraid of the screen game.

I have not posted on the site in a long time. I usually just read.
Unless there are reasons unknown? This has to be ridiculous decision to think about removing Coach Faircloth . So he might have lost a few games to Nederland ,SO WHAT!   He has built upon the PNG tradition, and is a winner !  From what I know he is involved from youth football all the way to Highschool helping kids learn football.  If it has to do with certain kids not getting to play over others, well thats just life in sports. I highly doubt or believe that is a good reason to force this man out.
Again if there are unknown other reasons. I guess it will prevail.  So for me I hope the Schoolboard makes the right decision for the better of PNG whether its to change Coaching or keep Faircloth.

yea 7 and 10  it's not ideal but the idea of putting LCISD in a district with Nederland and PNG is also silly.

Alright people saying this is a slightly better Texas City defense are smoking the good stuff.
Texas High is very very fast on defense in the front 7. That can cause problems and did for PNG. They are not the size of A&M/BH/Manvel at the LOS that's 100% correct. We will also be a way faster team overall than they are used to but that was a clinic on how to shut down that PNG offense and they did it almost identically to Crosby's game plan versus PNG.
I do think if they try to play 1 on 1 with our receiver's we will win that battle quite often. Especially on the RPO if they keep trying to send 6. I also think Cyrin will have a field day with the pressure on the designed QB run. The Counter will be key in the gameplan as well. No reason Crosby can't hang a big number in this game but that defense can be very very disruptive.
Crosby will need to be sharp because we will have to make quick reads and the correct reads. The offense that Crosby runs is fully prepared for Texas High's speed but we haven't seen a team as fast on defense since we played PAM. I expect a similar gameplan and similar results offensively.

Defensively I like the match up for the Cougars, no dominate Offensive linemen, nothing like we saw last week and their running back is solid but he's not as good as #23 from A&M, he was getting arm tackled all game long so just got to get some pads to him and he goes down. He's the classic really fast track kid playing running back if the hole is big and he gets open space he can make plays. Honestly this team looks like a less offensively talented PAM.  The big difference OFC is PAM has to play in 5AD1.
