1. Ok let's assume we have the same exact players. I have a turf field and indoor practice facility. You don't. No weather of any kind affects me. You have to spend 1 afternoon a week painting and preparing the game field because the maintenance crew just doesn't care..but you want it done right. I have 19 coaches. You have 10. I have no limit on what I can pay them, which means I'll get better coaches than you. You get to pay your coaches a 2000 dollar stipend, and 3000 above state base for teaching. 6 of your 10 coaches have to teach all day, accept for athletics and conference. 8 of my 19 coaches will co-teach or be inclusion for less than half the day. They'll have freshmen athletics, high school athletics, and a coordinator prep period that I've made up, along with a conference period. Last spring you had 3 coaches lost to basketball, 3 lost to baseball, 1 to powerlifting, 1 to golf, and 2 to track. Uh oh...1 of your coaches had 2 spring sports. Last spring I had 10 coaches strictly committed to offseason strength training, and spring football. Not to mention the 70 yard. long, state of the art weight room and indoor track. Now let's play against each other...with the same players...and see what happens.  Oh..and if you think high schools aren't recruiting, then you're really blinded. Which reminds me. Kids going to my school..or yours?
 2. Last night should've shed some light on several people in this area. Schools from this area can't compete with schools from other parts of the state. Schools down here are not willing to do what it takes to win. It takes money. Why do you think certain schools are ''elite'' every year. Carthage, Tatum, Mart...the list goes on. Find out how much money they pay their coaches. The facilities they play and practice in. The number of coaches they have. Its no secret to the success. Last night the prides of SE Texas got embarrassed by schools who simply do what it takes to win. Navasota had 19 varsity football coaches..WOS had 9. Compare the money spent on facilities. Silsbee was recently beaten like a dog by Carthage. Carthage just passed a bond...strictly for football...on the biggest jumbotron in the state high school or college. They pay their A.D. over 130k. That's a school willing to do whatever it takes to win. Face it..if you don't do that families/kids will not move to your towns, top coaches will not work at your school, and you have no chance at winning football state championships.
 3. There are several school that can beat Newton.  None in 2A however.

Why is Lumberton even there?
They were scheduled to be in the Anahuac tourney but that tourney got canceled. Was a last minute schedule for Lumberton to get in the West Hardin tourney.
well...I guess losing to a varsity 2A in a 2A tournament would've sounded better.
Lavalais not that good.  Not a starter.  Mosely...pretty good. Threw it down a couple of times, hit a couple of 3's, gets to the rim well.  HD gonna surprise a few.  Very big...athletic...a few good shooters.  Gonna be interesting.

I'm leaning Diboll though. I'm thinking Finney will want to try to keep Alto on grass. No sense in giving them a fast track if HD can help it. Anyone know anything about Harleton?
I was thinking Huntsville, Conroe or Navasota. We played at those stadiums in the past. I agree Finney will probably want to play on grass vs Alto. Harleton finished  7-3 and finish 3rd in their District.
Hunstville might be a good but expensive place to play.  I see Alto making to HD, and even though it is early, I have to go with Alto there as well.  Hull-D coming out a horrible district won't be prepared, but I have been wrong before.
HD coming out of a horrible district will also be rested.  Don't forget, Alto having to play SA and WS may be a little beat up.  They better worry about Harleton first.  May be a tougher game than expected.
 9. The Toilet Bowl! Let's just hope for a clean flush free from injury. I'm gonna say Liberty in a close 1.
 10.
I don't think that hull will run over colmesneil. They'll be surprised. But I mean, hull will probably take the W. I'd take it too if I was recruiting players left and right.
Who was recruited?
He did not play football last year.
I'm pretty sure he roamed the halls of Liberty last football season.
 12. HD just got that 6'4 Mosely kid from Liberty..supposedly can play.  Plus a couple other pretty athletic kids. HD was predicted last in football too and are about to win district. Just saying...
 13. Kountze wins in a blowout. 96-52 Oh this is the football thread.... In that case K-ville wins. Score depends on what time basketball practice is over.
 14.
Why is that a big loss?  They won one game with him.
;D
 15. Kountze!  There you are :).  I was wondering when you would come out.  Just like every year.  Big flare up for preseason!  Then get to a tough district...start blaming coaches, kids not getting to play enough, ready for basketball,  etc...  I was wondering when you would be back from fantasy island. I'll have to admit..  it took longer than I gave credit for. Why cant you guys stop pointing fingers and give credit where it's due?  Kountze is having one of their best seasons in a while.  You have to take baby steps.
 16. haha  ;D... may be hard to shut you up, but not hard to make you mad.  Hey genius...here's a fact for you.  Being a peewee coach doesn't mean you are in a position to call plays or personnell a team.  And being 6'4 350 lbs doesn't mean you could play. HD has already won as many games as they did ALL of last season, and it's half over.  Your beloved "best players" carried the ball 20 plus times a game last year, and went 3-7.  AND...probably led the state in fumbles.  I think the coaches are doing just fine without your advice.
You cats are crazy!! Normangee wins this one by 21 Bringing tha stuff to ur house!!
You may be right. HD has a bunch of players banged up. Also our top players have not got the ball very much this year. Would love to see Darrell and healthy Drake get 20 plus carries in a game. Hoping to see Garrett Hickman healthy and starting in the backfield soon. Go Bobcats!
Not that I care HDBobact 55... but I can't help but notice the continuous comments you keep making about your thoughts on how this team should be run.  Where players should be played...who should run the ball and when...who should play and who shouldn't.  I have a questions for you.  Did you know....that HD's OC has coached in 2 state championship games recently?  Did you also know...that HD's HC has won more playoff games in the last 5 years than HD has won in the past 30?  Why don't you keep the stupid comments to yourself and let your coaches do their job.  There is not a coach alive...that is not doing everything in his/her power to WIN the games that matter.  If you think you could do so much better...get a degree, get a teaching certificate, and apply for a coaching job at HD.  Otherwise.....SHUT UP! Everybody that goes to this site has had just about enough of your opinions.
 18.

This will be interesting to see. From what I understand, HD's entire starting backfield (3) probably won't play tonight and two of them start at linebacker as well. I don't think O'Connell is very good, but a 1A playing with all backup RB's is always tough. I still think the Cats win handily and some backups get some good playing time.
I agree. You echoed my intro post up top.  ;) Except now I am told Hickman may miss his 3rd game. Yes all backup RB's and LB's. HD 7 GO 6
You are quite a contradiction.  You are predicting the almight bobcats in a 1 point victory over arguably the worst varsity football team in existence.  I don't care how many starters are out.  I would take 99% of the jv teams in this area to win a blowout in this game.
 19. This one's gonna get bad in a hurry. Since this is WH's homecoming...I'll give them 3 scores DV - 56 WH - 18
 20. Kountze will make it to week 10.  Great season thus far...but no playoffs that I see.
 21. Did I say he didn't have talent?  Don't think I did.. You said "basically had offers from Tech and SMU while down here" You're an idiot if you believe that.  I know the kid can play.  I've seen him.  But he's not good enough for that level of football.  I guarantee it.  There are 100 4A and 5A qb's with his same size and ability, that also will not get offers to Big 12 schools.
