Coach Hill was the defensive coordinator and was groomed well by Finney. I would love to see Coach Stan Hodges come back and run the defense. Great defensive mind. He is d-coordinator at Galveston.
Things aren't quite that simple anymore.  I have no idea what Coach Hill taught, but they have to find a coach that can teach the same field.  Unless other people are leaving and those classes can be used.
 2.
The MVP should come from the team that won district...If Coach of the Year did, certainly MVP should as well...
If every coach in the district were to pick their own starting 5 from every team combined....the 1st kid picked is the MVP.  Just because the MVP usually comes from the best team, doesn't mean it should happen every time.  The "Coach of the Year" doesn't have to be district champ team either.  Even though it always works out that way.
 3. "Going Home" is 1 of the worst things that a coach can do.  This will not end good.  It never does. Best of luck
 4. Region tournament or state tournament teams have to play consecutive days. I think it was more a matchup thing than trying to rest legs.
 5. If Liberty doesn't let him hire any coaches, or spend any money it's not going to matter.  He'll be ran out of town in 4 years just like Deel was.  I hope it works out though.
 6. I have always had a problem with this topic.  I'm not saying that all of the coaches listed are not great coaches....they all have proven track records, experience, resume's...etc.  But what truly makes a good coach?  If someone truly is the "best" coach...then why don't they win a title every year?  Why don't they win every game?  Aren't they in a position every game to "out coach" the opposing coach? You cannot tell me that a coach that has won a championship is a better coach than all coaches that have not won a championship.
 7. HJ needs to slide the UIL some money under the table to put them back in Liberty's district.  That's their best shot at the playoffs.
 8.
Not this time SP. HD has improved since the last meeting.

HD has their starting PG back, Austin Edmondson. He was out when we played SP last. He has been out most of season.
HD hasn't played Sabine Pass yet.  This will be the first meeting
 9.
No one can stop that seven foot guy from colmesneil, they win by 10 ;) ;) ;) ;)
They won't have to stop him.  Colmesneil won't get the ball down the floor to give it to him. BS by 40
 10.
Everybody says BS is awesome and a playoff team. HD was picked dead last again in District. Just like football. lol. I believe the team is big time improved and will finish at least 2nd behind BS. We will see. Go Bobcats!!
I believe so too.  Big Sandy is good.  Even with HD size advantage, BS will be hard to handle.
 11.
Oh and the reason why the names weren't released was because and i quote the same source "TYPICALLY AT THE HIGH SCHOOL LEVEL THEY DO NOT RELEASE THE NAMES UNTIL TO THE GET TO THE TOP THREE FINALIST. THE REASON IS A LOT OF THESE APPLICANTS COULD JEOPARDIZE THEIR PRESENT JOB IF WHERE THEY ARE WORKING NOW CHOOSES TO GET UPSET BECAUSE THEIR GUY IS LOOKING FOR ANOTHER JOB. THEN FOR THOSE THAT DON'T GET THE JOB THEY MAY HAVE HARMED THEIR STATUS WITH THEIR PRESENT DISTRICT.  WE COULD PROBABLY PUSH BUT GENERALLY WE TRY TO RESPECT THOSE APPLICANTS." sorry for all the caps.. But thats how I got the email.. and I wasn't gonna retype it all...  ::)
ummm.... Just about every area Head Football opening that I've seen in the last couple of years they've released the list of applicants.  I've seen lists anywhere from 30 to 60 people that have recently applied for high school jobs around here. Schools don't get upset when 1 of their coaches apply somewhere else.  This is not junior high it is a business.  People better themselves in a business.
 12. Liberty is going to get the same type of coach as they had with Deel.  Probably gonna be the guy's 1st HC job.  Gonna be young, slightly inexperienced, very energetic at first. Here are the reasons: Liberty is not willing to do what it takes to get a "good" coach.  They're not going to spend the money, they're not going to let the guys hire a big, hand picked staff, they're not going to let the coach spend any money, not going to let the guy update all of the equipment, they're not going to fix that joke of a football stadium, and they're not going to get a guy that's not willing to be a puppet. So they're going to get another Coach Deel.  Should've just let him stay and saved all of this trouble.
 13.
HD has a much improved team from last year. Can they play with BS? Can HD win this District?
No. and No

 16.
What should a coach care about most: winning, teaching, or giving everyone a chance to play? Most of you respect coaches who put winning in perspective and teach players it's just one part of the game. Naturally, you want to win — but you also want the enjoyment of playing well, learning, and working as a team. A good coach isn't obsessed with winning but will motivate you and your team to want to win. But a few are driven to win above all else. The best lesson I learned from a coach is that if you put everything into whatever you do without give up you are winners regardless what the score said. I feel Coach Neece has brought this to Kirbyville! He is a man of compassion and will do whatever it takes to structure our young men into true leaders on and off the field. I know this is little late to say this but welcome and happy that you are our AD. GO WILDCATS!  8) There is a lot to be said about a coach that is truly caring of his/her players.  A lot of these kids probably don't have very good figures at home to look up to, and a coach is often the person that fills that void.  I believe most coaches truly want what's best for the long term affect on the players they coach. It's good that you have that at Kirbyville.  Having said that.  If Kirbyville continues to not make the playoffs, yall will run him off.  Just like every other coach that doesn't win.  Unfortunately, a coach keeping a job has nothing to do with how much they care about their players.
17. haha...you guys are really cracking me up. It's not about money! It doesn't matter how many coaches you have! It's not about facilities!  It's pure desire! Want to! Work ethic! This is not Rocky IV guys.. Kids today are not the same.  They need a reason to want to play.  A reason to want to go in the weight room. A reason to be a part of something.  If it doesn't matter...then let's keep a count of who wins state championships (in football), and where those schools come from.  Let's compare the money being spent on each school for athletics.  Bottom line..you don't dish out some change, you'll never get truly great coaches, you'll never have as many kids play, and those kids won't have as much reason to "feel a part of something".  I'm not saying that's ALWAYS the case.  But it is most of the time. By the way...the best athletes I've ever seen, played with, played against...were always on the lower end of the "work ethic" chart.  Most kids that work there butts off will never be as talented as the few who don't have to work at all.
 18.

Hey here's an idea..  why don't we let the coaching staff (probably of of the best staffs in the history of HD) decide what they're going to do with the offense next year.
SMH, another smart butt. Look little buddy, this is just a discussion thread for HD Bobcat fans regarding our offense. People have a right to their opinions. Here's an idea! Take your butt to another thread and be a tard there.  ;) :-* And yes we do have some awesome Coaches. Finney is one of the best. If you were a real HD fan, you would have a fire and passion to voice your opinion. Check out a few threads on this site, the strong programs with real fans starting asking about their teams plans immediately.  ;D It is the responsibility of past Bobcats to demand our program is strong, year in and year out. Next season has a chance to be very special. Oh yeah, and feel free to get loud at the games and root for them HD Bobcats. GO BOBCATS!  ;)
Little buddy?.. I'm not your buddy.  But I will shed some truth to your world.  HD just won the 1st district championship in several years.  Had a good chance to beat a very good team in the playoffs, which could have let to a meeting with Mart 3rd round.  Most of there team is back.  They just got real good at the current offense.  HD's OC is a slot t guy (not much throwing in a slot t).  They will not make a complete change for 1 kid that may or may not still be there next year.  I know that your vast knowledge of football overwhelms most of us on this board/state/country/world, but there will not be a change.
 19. Hey here's an idea..  why don't we let the coaching staff (probably of of the best staffs in the history of HD) decide what they're going to do with the offense next year.
 20.
I can't really speak to the other classifications, but in 4A (soon to be 5A, I guess), I think the problem in the playoffs has more to do with the discrepancy in enrollment numbers than it does the amount of money spent or the caliber of facilities. The range for the 4A classification is more than a thousand students. Sure, we have divisions in the playoffs, but even in DII, there's a huge discrepancy. PN-G played Manvel a few years ago in the regional semifinal. Manvel was almost a 5A school with about 2,000 students versus middle-of-the-pack PN-G with a little more than 1,400. I swear Manvel (which has since moved up a classification) had more kids suited out on the sidelines than most college programs I've seen, and that depth really showed in the second half. I'm sure the Nederland fans know what I'm talking about from the games against Dawson and Georgetown. Now when it comes to some of the other areas of competition such as band and academics, I guarantee the funding is what makes the difference. Friendswood and Dawson at one time had enough money to bring in the people who wrote the UIL tests to tutor their students regularly while PN-G and LC-M could barely scrounge up enough money to send their kids to a single workshop. Dawson used to have a Baby Grand piano that did an accompaniment with their halftime show and Friendswood had a little sound booth mounted on a cart where they would have soloists play and/or sing.
You're really not going to like what happening after this next realignment then.
 21.
I would rather spend money on quality teachers to teach my children how to read and write. I'll worry about the football season last.  I think if your child is good enough to play at the next level he will.
Unfortunately it goes together. School that have the willingness to spend that kind of money are also going to have the best teachers. Teachers would rather work at Barbers Hill than Evadale I promise. We all know why. You say you'd rather spend money on teachers..we're not even doing that.
 22.
If your asking if I want a tax increase for turf I say no!
I'm not asking that. And I have nothing to do with anything related to turf fields or stadium constructio. But you just proved a point I'm making. You're not willing to spend a penny on something that may help your community win football games. You think facilities has anything to do with why so many kids playing at Dayton are Liberty transfers?
 23. Several of you are missing the point of this thread. Team A has nicer facilities, get to pay coaches more money, get to have more coaches, coaches spend less time teaching more time coaching, ... team A wins 9 out of 10. team A has more kids want to play and play harder because they get a new set of uniforms every year. Team A is also going to have more and better transfers just to be a part of it. Team B just have to wait until an abnormally talented group comes together (Newton this year). Anybody that thinks that kind of money is not being spent on athletics right now needs to do a little research, or take a field trip, or both. I'm just trying to bring to light the harsh truth of it all. I'm from SETX and I'm telling you, things are changing real fast and we're falling way behind.
 24. I'm not saying that it can't or won't be done. Even the Yankees lose. Newton without a doubt has an exceptional team. I really want for them to represent SETX with a state championship. But aside from that...when's the last time we've had a championship from this area. Even the year Coldsprings made it...they got the hell beat out of them by Carthage. Making it 2,3,4 rounds isn't always a great success when you get trashed when you get there. Take a road trip to some of the schools I'm talking about. Go to Navasota and ask yourself if WOS had that much of a chance. Every year we have all these ''great'' teams that we are so sure will make deep, deep runs. And they don't. WOS, Silsbee, Nederland, East Chambers, Newton,... I'm just saying..our ''great'' teams eventually get beat and usually beat bad. Newton seems to be an exception this year so far. We do not have a single school in this area going ''all out'' on athletics. We will always be second fiddle until that happens.
 25. I was at WOS game last night. Coaching comparison was 19 to 9. Coldsprings also has 19 high school football coaches.
