1. It depends on who has the least amount of turnovers.  I'm not sure West Hardin can stop HD from scoring, but HD could throw the ball on the ground a few times.  It should be interesting.  I will say that in a turnover free game HD wins by a few scores or more. HD 28 WH 15
2. It's hard to compare how good one o-line is to another based on # of sacks allowed.  Some school don't throw as much as others...and some schools don't even have a drop back passing game.  The worst o-line in the state could give up no sacks if they run the ball every play.
3. It is a sad day in high school football when these 2 teams play each other to determine 2nd place of a district.  It is possible...even probable...for 1 of these teams to have gone 2 and 8 and be a #2 seed in the playoffs.  Yikes...
Pretty cocky statement. Yes, your Tigers are a very good and explosive team. But don't get to over confident. Lovelady and my H-D Bobcats are gonna make yall work for it. When I played for H-D, I played against a couple of cold blooded players from WS Juan Mason and Marcus Horn. We usually would beat WS, but those two running backs were great athletes. If the Oilers can key on the West Sabine QB, and stop him it might not be a blowout. The WS QB is one of the best in State.
First of all...they're not "my" tigers.  And I'm not really concerned with who West Sabine had when you were in school.  They're the reall deal THIS year, and "your" H-D Bobcats need to just be happy that they won't play WS first in the playoffs.  And btw...yes WS does have a good quarterback, and a good running back...well...a good backfield all together, and a good wide out, and another good wide out on the other side, and a big line, and a crap load of seniors....do I need to continue.  Can you please just give a team due credit that's not hull daisetta. now back to the thread: West Sabine - 56 West Hardin - 6
6. EC gave up 46 points to Hardin.  I know Hardin has a stout passing game....but 46?..  I'm not buying into that defense.  I'm gonna take Anahuac by a couple TD's. AHS - 34 EHS - 20

8. HD coming off big win (61-8 in High Island), plus HD has beaten two pretty descent teams at home so far, plus it's HD's homecoming.  I've been wrong before but HD wins their homecoming this year
9. It all comes down to who wants it the most.  Who...wants to NOT be last place...the most?  It should be quite a battle indeed. BTW Where is the game at?  Surely it's somebody's homecoming.  That might play a part.
10. I'm with you guys.  I think the Howard kid is a tough guy to stop.  But he's no true running back.  He doesn't have the speed.  Maybe like a full back.  And yeah I hate to say, but at some schools around here he may be a lineman or a defense only linebacker type player.  He is definately a good player.  Not even close to best running back in the area though.
11. The fact that Evadale even plays teams like Legacy says a lot about them.  The fact that the fans are upset that Legacy cancelled the game says a lot about them too. Heaven forbid someone mess up the 10-0 season.
12. You're right.  My above statement was a little harsh and I apologize.  I know that the kids are trying their best.  But you have to wonder how a team (Sabine Pass) can be competitive in boys basketball, baseball, and track,  but not have a chance week in and week out in football.  Something doesn't add up.  To me...that's embarrassing.  Either not all of the kids are coming out that should be (which is a school pride issue), or a change needs to be made in the coaching staff. I know that you can't look at games based on the way somebody played somebody else.  But you cant tell me you don't think about it.  I mean who has really challenged Deweyville thus far?  Evadale?  But in that same breath, who has really challenged Evadale?  Deweyville?  Besides that game, the only test either team has had was Evadale with Kountze.  I mean...Deweyville was almost (should have been) beat by Warren.  Is Warren a powerhouse?  Because Warren got the crap beat out of them by West Hardin.  Is West Hardin a powerhouse?  Just saying.  Even though it doesn't matter...you cant help but think about stuff like that.
13. No I haven't seen either play.  But I've seen Sabine Pass play.  And I watched Kountze and HD play.  Sabine Pass is an embarrassment of a football team.  And to be honest with you...HD gave it to Kountze pretty good.  The score didn't indicate it, but if HD wouldn't have fumbled so many times it could've been ugly.  If it's true that the Kountze/Evadale scrimmage went the way I heard, then yeah I think HD is better than both of them.
14. Kountze won't stop Hardin's air attack.  Hardin won't stop Kountze's ground attack.  If Kountze can keep the ball away from Hardin it could be interesting.  But I think it probably comes down to the last offensive possession.  Should be a good game.
15. Just wait and see...  I'm not saying that Deweyville is a bad team.  Because I've never seen them play.  But....Sabine Pass is probably a top 5 worst team around here.  Warren is probably a top 5 worst team around here.  Burkeville is probably a top 5 worst team around here.  And Evadale is down big time from last year.  I wasn't there...but I heard they were embarrassed by Kountze in a scrimmage.  So like I said.  Just wait and see.  I don't think Deweyville has played anyone as good as HD yet.  And this game just might surprise some people.
16. I've never seen a coach get fired for losing sub varsity games.  JV games are for the soul purpose of getting kids ready for friday nights.  If Liberty JV is in fact so good then maybe they should play the varsity schedule.  Then...someone would care if they were 5-0.
17. My prediction is that Liberty JV will not make the playoffs.  In fact, they can't even possibly make the playoffs.  Since that is the case....nobody cares.

19. Wow what a great hire it really happened.  I don't know the guy personally but definately know the name.  But....just because of this hire doesn't mean EC is an automatic contender.  Still some pretty decent competition in that district.  What a great opportunity for the HC though to learn from his experience though.

21. "ktz gets beat cause they run the same plays every year.  they may "spread it out" one year or a power back year the next but they will always run 32 and 35 dive, 28 toss, 22 and 23 slam.  if williams is still calling the O then count on those plays being ran. the years from 99-02 the lions should have been making some noise.  those were the year where the those players only lost 4 games in all in junior high.  the 01-02 team had tons of talent.  you had hancock as qb (could chunk it far and pretty good with aiming) with running backs arline and whitmore (quick and powerful duo).  the TE was fred mitchell, good size and could catch.  if they would have thrown the ball some they had a pretty good WR core, included,  curtis and isiah morgan, tony mitchell, josh drake, james mcneil, chris read, whom all could catch well and had pretty good speed.  the oline was pretty stacked too with guys like d. weingart, jessie spell to name a few." umm.....the kids that are playing now lost very few games in junior high.  That has nothing to do with it.  A lot of it has to do with bad timing, and the fact that you won't get/keep a decent coach unless he's the athletic director.  It also doesn't help that a lot of the better athletes stay in the gym when they get to HS instead of playing football.  In 07-08 Kountze ran the same plays over and over, and were very successful.  The kids (that had a consistent program) graduated, and hodges left.  They aren't bad now, but look at who they have to play.  That's rough.  Oh and btw, back in 01-02 wasn't Kountze 3A?  Once again, bad timing.  If that team would have been in this or any other 2A district they probably would have a little success. But don't blame it on the plays.  The kids still have an assignment on every play to make the play successful.

23. I predict that Liberty will win.......0 games this year.  I thought that maybe they might beat Tarkington, but Tarkington had Hardin beat until closing seconds, and Tarkington beat Huntington fairly easy.  Hardin and Huntington both blew out Liberty.  I know you cant always go on that, but I'm going to. So once again. Porter (seniors or no seniors) will beat Liberty
24. I don't really understand why this is such a debate...?...  I love Coach Henry and several kids on West Hardin's roster, but, Warren and Sabine Pass are garbage.  Hardin takes this game as bad as they want to.
