What I would say about tonight's game.

I know what it's like to watch my team lose and lose and lose. You pretend it doesn't matter, but that's just a facade. It really does hurt. But life goes on and as you move forward and the years pass by you discover that it really doesn't matter any more what happened back in those long ago days.

But if those losses no longer matter, neither do the wins. They're just distant memories rarely brought up for active consideration. If it was your lot in life to play on a winning team, a championship team, that's wonderful. But don't let that be the high point of your life. Don't let that be the only significant thing you ever did and everything afterward was downhill. It may cheapen the sport if everyone gets a trophy but that in no way diminishes the fact that all the players on that field tonight can and should be winners in the game of life.

True.  This puts the whole district 10 in a new light.  Jasper handled some teams pretty easily.  Enough to make you think we had a weak district.  The way this is playing out encourages me for the other three games in Lufkin.  Kilgore beat Henderson, so the whole district may not be nearly as tough as advertised ??

Are you going to the game? It's going to be cold and Rainey I will be there. I'm hoping the coaching staff has them ready. But like you said last week no matter what the play call is you have to make that one work. there should be no excuse for not making positive yards. Our jv won district and I believe some of these kids could or should play in this game. it's time to get over the hump one and done is not good enough. what a better way to prove yourself to beat a team that everyone thinks that there going to beat you.

Sir with do respect if LCM pulls an upset and beats Carthage I expect you to be on here eating your crow. I understand Carthage is or was a good football program in the past and I respect thier program. I have not watched all the game film on Carthage. But what I've heard there talent level is about good as Huffman. If that is true we have chance.

WO-S had 7 turnovers in their 28-14 loss to Carthage. Mustang defense held them to two FG's early and stopped them on a 4th down deep in WOS territory. Also Carthage converted a 4th and 11 from their own 18 yard line with only a touchdown lead. Nobody dominated. It was a good game of two very different halves.

they lost a lot of those players. I saw carthage play against Wos and to be honest I believe that wos should have beat them. What's carthage record? I was more concerned playing chapel hill

He shouldn't have too, those coaches should know it. They know that thier not the best but by the way things are ran at LCM we know thats the best we are going to get. They are not the best but they are not the worst either. They do the best they can with the resources they have given to them.

I don't know how good Carthage is this year. They have only won two games from what i can tell. Im sure there  district is tougher then ours. If we do play Carthage we will beat them for WOS!

i know it seems odd but it really happened.

This rivalry is an old one, dating back to when I was in school (ahem, which wasn't that long ago) and we were in the same district. Orangefield took that spot when BC moved down. Without OF to "rival", it had to be someone, so why not go back to LCM?
 
Right now, it's just some pretty entertaining smack talking on twitter, nothing particularly ugly. I think the BC fans know it's a longshot to win, but the school spirit has been pretty amazing to watch. I hope the kids back up their plans and show up Friday night ready to support the Cardinals, win or lose.
 
I've seen us lose some games, but watched those boys leave it ALL on the field. I'm a band mom, and not really concerned about the scoreboard. But I can tell you, even the band kids are pumped, ready to show LCM that a smaller school can still put on an amazing show.

I could really care less as well why even bring it up.??  LCM has cameras all over campus and parking lot and they know who did it. It was not anyone from LCM.  They aren't going to do anything to these individuals. They are focusing on the game Friday night.  ;)
