There are 1/2 teams that run a version of a spread offense, but not a primary set. I'm from East Tx and appreciate your input but the spread that has been ran in Dayton for the last 22 years, is not "common" or even understood for that matter in the following two districts:

District 7 Atlanta Gilmer Gladewater Longview Spring Hill Pittsburg Texarkana Pleasant Grove

District 8 Diboll Huntington Jasper Rusk Tatum

Gilmer is highlighted because they have defended well against many spread offenses in previous years, even though they are more of a balanced O.

    District 8 can't spell SPREAD

Gilmer is in the spread. So are alot of those teams.

Look...a good friend of mine is an OC of a college program and he has told me that 7on7 is a tool that they have become accustom to using for identifying possible recruiting prospects. But I'm sure there are those who know better and have hard nosed opinions that they tout as fact but bottom line with the exclusion of satellite camps by the NCAA...7on7 got way more important and that from the horses mouth.

Well who is it? Its like you are outing him for recruiting violations.

7 on 7 shows skill...speed...orientation. Scouts use it as a pumping on or off point. If they shine than they graduate to actual observation during game condition if the don't well it's a big see ya. 7 on 7 is becoming the prerequisite for scouts IMO

IMO...that means In My Opinion...opinions are just that and not necessarily supported by any one fact...It is a subjective statement. I guess it just seemed logical and at the same time I have heard others who have spent more time around it. Seems that several talented ball players have gotten attention from such events and then have gone to be more deeply scouted.

Figured it was your opinion bc it is wrong. College Coaches dont care about 7 on 7. Only people who do are the rating services. 7 on 7 main use is for developing players in a teams passing game.

    You know this how?

  5. The reason why you see a higher number of schools with turf or indoor facilities go deeper in the playoffs have more to do with the fact that athletics is important at that school and is invested in. Usually these schools pay better which gets better coaches. Better coaches get more investment from the players which leads to better results on the field. Now Indoor facilities probably have more to do with success than turf does due to the fact that you will never miss a practice due to bad weather and you wont lose your legs in August and September. Turf over time does pay for itself. There is that argument also which is legitimate. SETX is behind the times when it comes to facilities in general. Heck take a drive up to mid to north east texas and you will see a bunch of small schools with turf. Go to Texasbob.com if you dont believe me.
