  4. Today
  5. Agree on the Patriot act, also wasn’t too happy when Bush increased the department of education drastically. Both parties spend too much, always have, and always will…until they can’t.
  6. We’re in the same boat for the most part. Although, some of the Republican backed policies haven’t made me happy either (Patriot Act anyone?). Not sure either major Party really believes in personal liberty any more. At least, they don’t seem to prioritize it. But yeah, Democrats have never been an option for me either. Except for like the School Board example because of lack of choices.
  7. Never voted straight ticket either but I can’t remember the last time I’ve voted democrat. As far as the illegal immigration or simply immigration, I was referring to the actual position of the party, not views of a portion of the voter base. I vote Republican because they are closest to my views but I haven’t been very happy with them for a while, not necessarily the policies, but the party members. The only viable alternative is democrats, which isn’t even actually one.
  8. I don’t vote for a Party. Never have. I’ve never knowingly voted straight ticket. Typically, my votes are between Independents, Libertarians, & Republicans. Democrats—as I’ve stated multiple times—are polar opposites of my view of limited government. Have I voted for Democrats in the past? Sure. I’ve seen very few conservatives or anyone besides someone I knew was a Democrat running for School Board. They’ve typically been retired teachers or school employees that you knew they voted Democrat. But, they were the choices. As far as Republicans and immigrants—yes—there’s an issue in my mind. With perception or implementation of policy at the least. That’s why—prior to the election—the vast majority of Republican voters surveyed said immigration needed to be curtailed. Not just illegal immigration. Immigration in general. That number is now around 30%. Seems when enforcement hit closer to home, views have slightly changed. Don’t get me wrong, I’m in the camp of no illegal entries—period. Also, no benefits for people here illegally. I’m against birthright citizenship as it’s a draw for illegal entry, and abuse of the system. I also don’t believe it was the original intent of the authors. But, we’ll see on that one. I’m for immigration verification and enforcement for employment nationwide. I’m willing to pay a little more if necessary. I think as long as the U.S. is a welfare state, these are reasonable stances. I know they don’t all mesh with the Libertarian views of Cato, or even the open border policy of the Libertarian Party. But, that’s why I say I’m libertarian with a small ‘L’. I believe if you want open borders, you need to end the welfare state first. [Hidden Content]
  9. No idea. But, this law didn’t address it either.
  10. So, when is the "affordable" part of the Affordable Care Act going to take place?!
  11. I'm not totally on board with that thought. But, what's ironic, is when Tragichippy stated the opinion that this may be a Trump ploy, I have run across this thought a few times on the internet. Knowing Trump it's not inconceivable that he would do this. But I do know with 100% certitude that you and I don't know. Only Trump knows! But, knowing how Dems do everything opposite of Trump, in rabid style, and Trump knows it, I could possibly see this ploy could have happened!
  12. I pay over $2600/mo. with a $3600 Ded/OOP max. (They’re the same.) But—in fairness—no one would insure us at all without preexisting conditions of ACA. As I’ve mentioned before, we’d be happy with just a catastrophic plan. We pay everything up to $10k or something similar. But, the law won’t allow.
  13. I can believe you, I can remember when medical costs for having a kid were almost zero.
  14. He’s just angry, like all liberals, that the dems don’t have any real men to offer.
  15. Nobody believes me when I tell them this, but here goes…. Back in the late 70s, my company offered full coverage for zero dollars. There was no such thing as copay. If I went to the doctor, like I said, no copay, no 80/20, nothing. I owed nothing. 100% coverage with Blue Cross/Blue Shield just for being an employee. Before I left, it was as bad as yours or worse. Deductibles as high as $5 grand.
  16. What are you actually trying to say? 1. Men beating woman is easy because they are inferior? 2. Trump is now young because he beat someone 3 years older than him? Make that make sense because Trump is the oldest President to take the oath🤣
  17. Agree about the loss of trust in both parties but if you even lean a little conservative the choice between the two is a no brainer, imo. And I don’t agree that the Republicans have an anti immigrant problem, they’re simply anti illegal immigration.
  18. Obama really did a number to our health insurance. I went from paying $85 a paycheck with a $250 deductible to now $130 a paycheck with a $3200 deductible....and that is the lowest deductible the company has. We do get about $1000.00 a year on a HSA card provided by company, but that still leaves you with a $2200 deductible before they pay 80% Healthcare is broken
  19. Fact President pedo won against 2 females and lost to a old guy... D's only have themselves to blame for handing the election ova... seems he can only beat women (pun intended)
  20. Getting people to believe......if you look at the investigations, the Russia Hoax, the lie after lie on impeachments.....the lawfare against him from multiple Democratic states.....it was not a hard sale.
  21. Didn't you say multiple times no way Trump will win again........ Also, "Normal people don’t spend time on message boards engaging in political discourse… but with the exception of Reagan" AND OBVIOUSLY YOU........and the 600 million active users on "X" You focus on the stuff that don't matter. Trump administration is passing bills and wining in the courts.....things that DO matter
  22. Wouldn’t even know where a meeting was held. Besides, I align more with libertarian beliefs. Usually, those align more with conservatives as it relates to scope of government. But, not necessarily Republicans. My beliefs on scope of government are the polar opposite of Democrats. Also, most voters supported (by a 2/3 margin) the school voucher program. [Hidden Content]
