My financial gain is because of investments I made many many years ago with some royalties I have from some property I own up around Cushing, Tx. Exxon and a couple other oil companies were part of my investment plan along with a few other stocks. I have taken some hits over the years but in the long term it has been very profitable. Being invested in oil company stocks you have to take the good with the bad.

I understand but bragging about financial gain from a war while soldiers are losing their lives and people are struggling just to fill their vehicles up and put food on their table just didn’t sit well with me. There are people across this country that are struggling from the cost of high fuel which causes everything else to go up. Just at our church alone I have seen the lines of cars that we give food to weekly go up drastically since fuel prices have went up. Not everyone is as fortunate as others.

Man, and I always thought that the country profits from wartimes. WWII got us out of the Great Depression. Some of us would not have survived that era.

I don’t agree with the direction of the war. Big oil and many other industries have been exploiting things for decades for mega profit, nothing new. Right or wrong it has positive or negative effects for most citizens. I don’t think anyone on here is OK the loss of military life but none of us can do anything about it.

Is that what you mean? I think you meant to say Exxon is exploiting this crisis while soldiers are losing their lives. That would make a little more sense.

That really is a silly post. And you wonder how insults get started on here.. You are really twisting aren’t you. Exxon along with other oil and gas companies are exploiting this crisis with Iran to the tune of doubling their profits from last year. 7.1 billion to 14.2 billion while soldiers are losing their lives. As a 7 year military veteran I find it disgusting. As my original post said Americans are being gouged at the pump. Maybe by the end of the year gas will be $6 a gallon and you can get on here and celebrate your bank account getting fat because of it. SMH

Bruh you are twisting what I am saying. Celebrating Americans getting the shaft because your bank account is getting fat from Exxon bending people over at the pump is not cool. There are soldiers losing their lives over Exxon exploiting this crisis. Maybe that’s something you should have kept in your head instead of putting in post. If you can’t understand that I don’t know what to tell you. Tithing and contributing to charities is a great thing.

When I started this thread Trump’s approval was around 40%. That’s a 20% drop to today’s 34% in 4 months, and it’s still heading south. Th Republicans’ midterm prospects are cratering under the crushing weight of Trump’s unpopularity. I knew from the outset that this insane war would be his and his party’s demise. And so it began.

I also tithe. So what you are saying is it's okay to reap benefits just don't celebrate it. Gotcha BTW, not one of those charities or the church asked how I was able to give the money. Helping to spread good will with my investment monies. That's all.

I’m aware of: Bridge City ISD, Lumberton ISD, Goose Creek ISD, La Porte ISD, Deer Park ISD. I’m sure there are more. You’d have to search by ISD for those you’re curious about. Some may surprise you as they are smaller districts. It’s not always the big ISD’s. It’s the money issue. Many adopted open enrollment of some fashion after school vouchers passed, and enrollment began dropping for multiple reasons (private schools, immigration policies, home schooling, etc.)

Contributing to charities is commended. Celebrating price gouging the American people is not very cool in my book which is what you said. That price gouging not only affects the price of fuel but everything else an American buy. I also tithe at my church which supports a lot different ministries but it’s not with blood money. It’s with honest hard earned money.

It is happening. Gore’s 10 year window was for beginning change. Change has yet to begin.
