LCM's run and pass defense will both be tested. Last year's score and the prior years have no bearing on this year's game. And I believe Vidor has been tested more than LCM.

Team that just lost to Bay City is not going to be in a “toss up” with Carthage. If WOS wins it will be a great upset.

Pretty much across the board Carthage is the favorite. From 6 points up to 27. A WO-S win would definitely qualify as an upset no matter how many the Mustangs have returning and what Carthage is "figuring out". Just in our pickems here on the site, out of 33 folks so far that have picked the game. 32 has picked Carthage.

Looks like lcm currently #1 defense in points allowed to start district play?? Id say their best strength currently is their run defense as well. I have to say though. Vidor is due for a win. Lcm won last year 60-37 and has not lost to them since 2022.

literally 6 weeks before that game they played and it was 61-56. so you missed my point there, apparently. but the vast disparity in scores makes mine, which was that a team with the right weapons that catches carthage on the right night always has a chance, no matter how small. and you are putting a lot of thought into what is merely a comment on a forum. I don't care who wins this game. In fact, I hope carthage beats them by 50. It might help my team out two weeks later.

I don’t hate Trump. I voted 3 times for the turd. I have never denied Trump getting negative news coverage. He most certainly has received tons of negative coverage but that doesn’t change the fact he’s totally failed on a lot of his campaign promises. If you can’t see that then I can’t help you. actually the most recent matchup between Carthage and Athens was 63-28. You are just trying to create bulletin board material and a foundation for a possible documentary-worthy moment. But the facts are this: these are not the same exact teams from the championship game in December, for the most part WO-S stayed intact but Carthage is still figuring things out with so many first-year starters. Carthage is vulnerable.

I'm not saying that there are not a small faction of coaches that fit your bill. But they are in the vast minority.

and i was referring to the fact not all coaches do that - there are indeed too many that will keep starters in the game regardless of the score. Hell there are even some who can be up 3+ scores, call a timeout with a minute left in the game to score again. Seen that too many times with my own eyes.

I think this game is going to be a toss up. By the comments here it seems some of y'all are trying to lay a dramatic foundation for an epic upset. Unfortunately WO-S thirst for revenge is not valid - these are not the exact teams that played for the state championship. WO-S is pretty much the same unit returning most if not all starters. Carthage on the other hand lost A LOT and therefore have a lot of new parts and first year starters. They have some ares they are figuring out. I don't think it will be an upset if WO-S wins this game.
