Very impressive win by Hardin. Coach Taylor and his staff has done an outstanding job. -

I don't believe the Newton coaches overlooked Hardin, especially after their great season last year in 3A D1. That said, Newton is definitely one dimensional (and I was born and raised there). Special teams/kicking PATs have been nonexistent for many years, and it really matters in games like this. Regardless, if Hardin survives the playoffs, they’ll meet Newton again and it’ll be a good one. -

Simon isn't ranked the #5 RB in the country for no reason. Add the Soph Dieudonne--who is coming into his own as a 'banger'--and it's a stout rushing attack. Plus, Wells (QB) doesn't make many mistakes with the ball. He's a talent as well. I'm VERY pleased with the OL. It's been patchwork since early game 1. The only young man playing OL now that started the season is the TE Reynolds. Y'all actually covered him pretty well last night. I think he only had one catch for a big first down on a scramble by Wells. -

Silsbee's Head Coach is 7-0 against the Jasper Bulldogs; '16 - 20-19 '17 - 30-23 '22 - 26-23 '23 - 21-20 (OT) '24 - 49-47 '25 - 49-14 '26 - 59-14 This is the longest running rivalry in SETX dating back to 1922, 104 years of unpredictable finishes. This rivalry has been stopped a few times because of how intense and fierce it is. This rivalry usually has playoff implications, district championships and always bragging rights for a whole section of Texas. This rivalry doesn't have a name, in Silsbee it's called the Silsbee/Jasper rivalry and in Jasper it's called the Jasper/Silsbee rivalry. It's a rivalry that spans fifty miles down Hwy 96 in the Pinywoods where East Texas and SETX collide, it's not some back door friendly neighborhood football game. -

Right now, La Porte is still on track to win their 4th consecutive District Championship. 2023: 9-5AD1 2024: 11-5AD1 2025: 11-5AD1 2026: ??? La Porte's last loss in district play came on Oct. 6, 2023 in a come-from-behind win by PAM in Port Arthur in Berneathy's 2nd year. Injuries are beginning to pile up and really test the Dawgs' depth. Next man up... -

Great game by the QB Prieto. He put the team on his back last night. Poor defensive play all game, lack of adjustments after halftime, and the number penalties have to be addressed for the Broncos to move forward. I hope Dayton's running back is okay. Good luck against PNG! -

Good job, Bulldogs -
Okay, we were in the visitors stands below some of the assistant coaches including Crouch. Maybe it was cleaner aspersions (such as dumb a, etc) and definitely wasn’t vulgar. But the undressing he gave him over the walkies after a few play calls he didn’t love was hilarious. It was a very entertaining game with not a lot of fans there and that was by far the highlight to me. Hooks has hysterical.

Spot on, when we walked into the stadium and I looked over at Newton lined up for the National Anthem, man they looked intimidating! But they played one dimensional. I believe Hardin stopped them on every extra point attempt, Hardin shocked them right away with the onside then quick score too. Hardin should have had another onside kick, and that was definitely a fumble that was taken away from Hardin. Plus, Newton’s QB has a hell of an arm, but they changed their whole offensive scheme for some reason. Maybe Newton’s coaches were a little cocky and didn’t take Hardin serious -
