Sport 71...you may as well give up on justification of anything on here because most of these guys are the best arm chair QB's Southeast Texas has to offer my friend. I say bring it Newton and we will sort it out on the Field!

Mania - as you know, one of the definitions of "mania" is excessive or unreasonable enthusiasm.  I'm going to be kind and leave it there.  Really, I can't tell if you are expecting Kountze to beat Newton this year or if you would be satisfied if they played as hard as they can and not give up.  I hope you're leaning towards the latter.  Kountze has ALREADY had an amazing season.  I hope the Lions are on the way to a solid football program just as the Boys Basketball program functions.  But try not to fall from that lofty perch that you are on:  Kountze WILL NOT BEAT NEWTON THIS YEAR.  Sorry to be the one who broke this to you. ::) 8)

Look I'm a huge Kountze fan but I'm also a realist. Kountze's chances at beating Newton are slim to none. I just hope the boys play hard and don't lay down. What I find exciting though is that Kountze has a very good chance to end the season 7-3 and 4th in district if they beat AP and KV. An amazing improvement from last year. We could be looking at third place if we beat Anahuac and kville and somebody upsets woodville.....or by some chance we manage to Upset EC. A lot of things can happen between now and the end of the season. Whatever happens though I am very proud of the job that the KTZ coaches and players have done this year trying to turn the program around. The lions are guaranteed a .500 season at this point, and even that hasn't happened in a few years.

As for your smart comment, I actually played DB and WR in Woodville from 96-98 and was a finalist for the Willie Ray Smith Award in 96 and was first team all-district in football and baseball. Played at SFA. Also Newton beat us 21-14 the year they won state AND we NEVER even had to worry about Kountze. O one more thing to mention, only 2 teams made the playoffs when I played and you had to be good to get in!!! Also we gave Kountze a run in basketball. Game, Set, SFA!!! LOL. Your rebuttle please? I had to go Joe Biden on ya hahaha!!! Did you even play sports?
