Maybe im an idiot maybe I dont have the slightiest clue about how football works but we havent even started two a days. Things can happen
Here is my only hitch with Vidor and this is true you went what two rounds deep last year. If you were more than a one dimensonal team you might have a chance to do very well but i agree with Brenhem fan there are teams in your district that can shut you down. You line 8 in the box and man cover the recievers you can shut down a mis directional offense Please excuse all my misspelled words I am not very good at it  Lets get the gear on and then start talking.

Lol people like you make me laugh. Shut down our "one dimensional" offense? Really? Not one team we played last year shut us down. Heck noone held us to less than 15 points in the whole season. We averaged 360 yards a game and 29.5 points a game. Wow.  ::)

And we went 3 rounds deep in the playoffs.

The Vidor defense was good last year, but not great...Q was great!
Here are some facts to back that up from last year...
Top 5 20-4A defenses last year from a PPG - District Only - stand point and returning starters this year
1. Nederland (16 PPG) - Not sure the numbers yet, but a lot
2. PNG (17 PPG) - 5
3. Livingston (19 PPG) - ??? I think they took a hit to graduation.
4. Vidor (20 PPG) - 7
5. Ozen (26 PPG) - 6

And Vidor gave up 32 ppg in there last 5 games of the season in which they went 3-2.

And before someone post about the yards per game...YPG is misleading since Vidor runs a lot of clock. In the end the goal on defense is to stop the other team from scoring anyway!

twocents, if my memory serves me correctly, Nederland held your vaunted Pirate offense to under 200 yards last season...not certain but i can sure find out for sure tonight...irregardless, that O was held pretty much in check all night by Nederland.

Look buddy, Vidor had a great season last year and should be proud of that success, but don't come on this board acting like they are a lock for a 9-1 or 10-0 season because they are not

With 9 returning starters (which unfortunately includes Quirante) they should be tough.

A very good defense is a good building block for a good playoff run if they can hold it together. I remember a couple of years ago when Nederland was putting up about 35 points a game but losing some of them 35-38. I always think it starts with defense.

Yep, Vidor had only 178 yards against Nederland last season, so to say that "no one" stopped their offense would be inaccurate
