Buna is big and playing some good football, but Newton is far and away a different team than Buna has seen the last couple years. Newton will win district and Buna and Anahuac will fight for second and third. :)

Newton does seem to be improved from what we have seen. Do not forget about Woodville. They are capable of getting one of those spots as well.

District 10-2A isn't known as the toughest 2A district in the state of Texas for nothing

So yes, this is one of the toughest 2A districts in the state, next year may be a different story after realignment.  5 teams battled it our for playoff spots last year and the same should happen again this season.

But what about this year, 2011?

Currently District 8-2A D1 has 2 teams in Top 10 (#5 Daingerfield and #8 New Boston, both at 2-1), while District 7-2A D1 has 2 teams in the Top 10 as well (#9 Melissa and #10 Mineola, both at 3-0).  Take what you want out of that.  Daingerfield is the defending 2A-D1 champion.  They beat Cameron Yoe (District 12-2A D1, they are currently 0-3).

Toughest from a parity standpoint but I don't think any team but Newton scares any of the top 2A teams in the state. (for 2011)

I think Buna is playing better than alot of us thought they would, while Woodville is not performing as good as some believed they would . If Anahuac can stay healthy i think they will be in the playoff's but we cant afford any more injuries.
