Perfect Game South Showcase

Recommended Posts

Sun Devils had 7 players attend Perfect Game South Showcase and all did well.  Each made the Top Prospect list:

OF Cameron Dishon (2012/Bridge City HS, Beaumont, TX): Dishon had the fastest 60 time at the event at 6.53 and has top level tools defensively in centerfield.  He has a quick line drive swing and pulls the ball hard consistently.

C Matthew Menard (2012/Bridge City HS, Beaumont, TX):  Menard is a football star with a plus strong football build but surprisingly well rounded baseball tools.  He’s a 6.69 runner with big right handed power and polished receiving tools on defense.

C Stryker Trahan (2012/Acadiana HS, Scott, LA):  Trahan has slimmed down and loosened up since last summer, which should help all aspects of his game.  He runs a 6.58, has above average arm strength behind the plate (85 mph) and outstanding bat speed from the left side.

SS Troy Lewis (2012/Dutchtown HS, Giesman, LA):  Lewis had an outstanding batting practice, slamming four home runs, including one off the left field light pole, then blasted another one in the first game.  He projects best at either second or third base at the next level.

RHP Jacob Lemoine (2012/Bridge City HS, Orange, TX):  Lemoine has a potential 90 mph arm with some mechanical adjustments.  He pitches at 85-87 mph with a loose, fast arm and has a very projectable 6-4, 190 lb frame.

RHP Preston Warner (2012/ Monsignor Kelly HS, Beaumont, TX): Warner has a long arm action, with a fastball that has some ASR. Warner’s Fastball topped out at 89 mph and had a curveball that was 69-71 mph with a change that was 78.
late.

RHP Josh Leone (2012/Calvary Baptist Academy, Keithville, LA):  Leone has a nice pitcher’s build at 6-3, 190 lbs with long arms and legs.  He was steady 86-88 mph for three innings with a 77 mph slurve type breaking ball and struck out eight hitters in three innings.

Dayton Broncos SS Drew Walker also made Top prospect list.

SS Andrew Walker (2012/Dayton (TX) HS):  Walker is very slender at 5-11, 150 lbs but put on a show defensively at shortstop during the games.  He has fast, sure hands, a quick release and some flair and confidence in the field.
